I had a bit of a mare to be honest! Half the clothes didn't suit/fit me and then the mic packed up and then the dog.....
PS: I still haven't sorted the Champney's Bill..... tbc!

I’m in the US, and I look almost every morning to see if you’ve posted. You are refreshing, real, and I love that you don’t hold back even when you know a garment is not the right fit for you! It takes courage to do that in front of an unknown audience! I hope you’ll keep doing these videos for us ladies, as it gives us ideas for wearing items we may not have thought possible. BTW- You looked gorgeous in that coral, but I get the tight sleeve thing, and like you am too old to compromise on a comfy fit! Thank you Helen!

I did a huge Monsoon sale order and only kept a couple of things too - the sizing was ALL OVER the place. No consistency at all. I wear an XL from them - am UK 20 - and some things were massive, like tents, and others were too tight and all in different places 🤯🤯
I think sometimes items in the sale are there for a reason - that being they are just the wrong shape / dimension for any normal human!! Clothes are meant to fit people, not the other way round! ❤

Hi Helen. It’s such a shame that your lovely weekend break was spoiled by messy and very inconvenient paperwork and incorrect invoicing and receipts from the company which you now have been left with to try and sort out! It leaves a sour taste in one’s mouth and stress after a supposedly relaxing spa!
I did like many of the Monsoon dresses- blue is definitely your colour- but it’s a pity the fit wasn’t right on most of them. Sizing is a real problem and why personally,I prefer not to shop online and would rather visit the store. Not a good day for you but your lovely smile is always cheery and like they say, tomorrow is another day! Take care 🥰❤️

I don't think anyone over 30ish should wear bardot tops especially if they have the bra strap indentations (like I have). I also hate the cold shoulder look never took to it. The blue and white dress looks nice, lovely on you.

What a shame most of the dresses were too small as they were gorgeous. The first one and the blue foil one were lovely and definitely keepers. I love Monsoon but not the best for consistent sizing. I buy a lot of their offerings on Ebay but 20% don't fit. I then put aside for friends to try which makes me popular. As I only buy when the price is right it still works out much cheaper. I have champagne taste and a beer budget.
I read that as 'beer belly' first off! haha. Good for you, I can't be doing with ebay any more. xx

Well I agree with your assessment of the haul. I will say though I wasn't a fan of the coral dress, the colour really suits you. As ever, watching your videos, I spend of lot of time smiling. You might have been having a rotten day, but you made mine better. 😄

But that one that you loved, that you felt was too tight (cream with blue design and embroidery) was absolutely gorgeous on you. The whole of January feels like the day you’re having in my world. I'm wondering what size to order. What are your measurements? Their sizing is weird. Each size covers 2 sizes. I'm a 16/18. Love the denim dress!
I think it depends where you carry your weight and the style of the dress. I'm probably more of a 18 than a 16..... xx

All lovely selections- you know what colors and styles suit you. Inconsistent sizing is so frustrating. You have the patience and ingenuity to remove that bad zipper and sew a new seam …
consider identifying a straight forward dress pattern something “simply elegant and elegantly simple.” Using beautiful breathable fabrics, finesse the fit and remake the that dress pattern multiple times. Thanks for sharing.

I understand how you feel.
Ongoing battle with train LNER who cancelled all trains one particular day. Paid out compensation, paid out journey to London (for 3 of us) for a day out. Disputing return fare, as the trains were running! What….
Then yesterday on the motorway a scrap lorry checked a great big piece of metal onto the road nearly went through the windscreen of the car in front then I managed to slow down enough to centre and drive over it to make the most awful noise underneath my brand new car (10 days old) now waiting to take it back to the showroom from the check for no nasty damage. Today got to go to Police station to make a statement….. all because lorry driver couldn’t be bothered to put a net over his load and keep everyone safe…… rant over.

My daughter went to Champneys last year for a weekend of pampering. Exactly what happened to you. Chaos at check in because system was down. Cancelled some of the things they had booked in for but charged them on the bill. Then in the pouring rain at midnight the fire alarms went off. They had to stand outside for over 45 minutes in wet coats or dressing gown. No apologies no hot drinks. Just met by very grumpy staff. They could t wait to leave.
Oh dear. I have to say that the staff were great and working very hard, but there is something very wrong with their systems. I'm still waiting to clear it up xx

We should always check bills from hotels at the end of a break, the last one we received last summer had a drinks bill added to our account to over £500 from someone probably trying it on! But we have never drank a lot on holiday, especially as we had only been there at the hotel for 24 hours!! It was a big shock but. It was rectified in our favour, so no complaints about that, but just shows you that you must Check bill.
Yes, I agree. I did check the bill but then they added two more bills on when I got home and had to wait for them to rectify. I'm calculating it now. Thanks for watching xx
I am sure that you know, it is not you or your shape that causes fitting problems. We ladies have put up with ill fitting clothes for years. I can wear anything from a 16 to a 20 and no longer take any notice of labels. Hope for an improvement in this regard is pointless. Garment manufacturers don't seem to care. What a nightmare with Champneys I went once and was really underwhelmed and didnt feel relaxed at all .My fav Spa place is Ragdale hall in melton Mowbray its utterly amazing and the best spa in the uk , everything is spot on they even park your car for you and take your luggage off you at the door to put in your room . The bill also is always correct too , worth the journey . lovely dresses Helen but I find Monsoon fit tricky too , made me laugh at the end and the dog has been sick !!! xx

Lovely choices Helen, but you are so right not to compromise ! I don't know how many times I have kept outfits saying, oh a few pounds off and this will fit really well - and it never really works out that way! Glad you enjoyed your weekend with the fam, but what a flippin nightmare re the billing, I don't blame you for being frustrated ! We had a fab time at the Vale Resort in Hensol, would recommend :) x

Although the coral dress was only too tight on your arms , the colour was stunning on you ! You must look for another dress in that colour , as it’ suited you so much .
I also liked the dress with the big pattern in the tummy . You could get away with that with all in 1 underwear I feel .
But as you say , no compromises ! Which makes sense 😎

I'm ex air crew and alwAys she led my hotel room bills closely. Quiet often you'd fine that you were charged for the previous occupuants items. Mainly because what ever they had was added late to the bill, so therefore ended up on the next lessons bill.
Yes, always check the bill..... but this bill just doesn't make sense, but I'm still waiting for them to call back.... heyho xx

The monsoon haul was fabulous and so many beautiful dresses. My fav colour is cobalt blue so when I saw that my eyes lit up, such a pity it was tight. Swimwear I always look at the Fantasie outlet site and get my two piece swimwear from them. xx

Hi Helen I’m going to the Caribbean in March for a special birthday. If you don’t want to keep dresses 4 and 5 which I love I would happily buy them from you and pay for postage. The cobalt blue and then the one with orange and cream daisy. I’m not quite an 18 so they might just work brilliantly they are lovely dresses. That's a difficult one for sure, I have a friend of 4'11" and it is difficult to find clothes that flatter, but it's a case of trial and error. Maybe try a personal shopper xx

Your arms are fine! I put on weight over the years but the only way to lose weight is "fasting". If anyone wants to try it, it takes a month to get into it - slowly. I have put a bit of weight on over winter but can FAST and lose 2 lbs a week. It repairs your body and it is the only thing that works for me. I can eat my calories, chocolate, ice cream but still lose weight because my body will repair itself. My cholesterol levels have gone down and I can get into my summer dresses and shorts. I feel so good fasting I tend to have breakfast and then a larger meal around 2pm - eating between 8 hours and then water. Occasionally I may have a cup of tea but it still works for me. Watch the vlog "Fat2Health". This lady sang in stars in your eyes. She was a large lady but it is rolling off her and her life has changed. She couldn't lose weight and it depressed her and I kept saying please try fasting and eventually she did it. I understand why you feel disgruntled as I have been there. I was and will be happier when I lose my winter weight. My whole outlook feels better. Also watch Dr Pradip Jamnadas. This man changed my life because of fasting. "fasting for survival" and "the bitter sweet". Tells you what sugar is doing to your body. I am not saying you are overweight but you seem disgruntled with life just like I did. You can start off in the first month doing a 14 hour fast and working up to 18 hrs. You don't look 65 and you have beautiful hair so enjoy your life. 🤗🤗🤗

Hi Mary Helen please do not worry love that pattern but dress no 1 cut on the bias pretty on uuu but zip won't change it I had same with dress from there as its cut,,, happy you had rest away don't do the paperwork for chimneys they need to do it love the daisy one on you keep it beautiful on you ,, nothing going right for yu , have a rest don't worry ,,, go with what's comfortable moonstone sizes are very bad ,, bless you and thank you x

Hi Helen, some lovely dresses there but you are right, they need to fit nicely. I liked all the blue dresses best. Regarding the spa, what a shambles. Fully understand the headache that’s caused 😬, but lovely family time. Frustrating about the microphone fail, are there any other options for using one? not sure how other you tubers manage. Hope Dolly was ok, my cat always looks disgusted when she’s sick and runs away from it as fast as 😂
