And although a complete replacement rather than a refurbishment/conversion, there is also Hercules -> Hydra The Revenge at Dorney. Hercules and the Hydra are linked in Greek mythology, and DP made their own fanfic version of the story with the Hydra resurrecting and killing Hercules.
PA doesn't like a lot of things changing .... retaining part of the name is also kind of the thing for RMCs anyway. Nonetheless, I can't wait to make it out to Hershey, PA in 2023.
I'm going to say it again: what Hersheypark needs now is some kind of transportation ride to get back there! They should revive the old gondola skyride that used to go back to the old Minetown area from the front of the park. The ideal would be a triangular route, kind of like what Busch Gardens Williamsburg has: Chocolatetown to Kissing Tower Hill to Midway America and/or the waterpark. (Actually, if it's one way it might be better to take that in the reverse direction, to counter the natural flow of foot traffic.) It'd help even out the flow of visitors over the course of the day. These kinds of rides are also fairly high-capacity and take a while to ride, so they relieve pressure on other rides.
HP has always had a great line up compared to parks around the state and adjacent states imo. I still think the best part is now there will be a headlining attraction on the opposite side of the park from the entrance. The entrance area was just getting way to cluttered with all the new rides they were adding. Hopefully this will get rid of the 1 hour + waits for Candymonium
candy will still have more waits because kids can ride it this will be too intense for most kids this still will have 2 hour plus waits every day SV does its also gonna have unlimited fast track aka fast pass thankfully
There's actually 3 coasters in PA that use " revenge"..... phantoms revenge, hydra the revenge, and now wildcats, revenge! Only at the states 3 biggest parks
As for Wildcat's Revenge itself, I think it looks great. As someone whose favorite coaster is Wicked Cyclone, I think 140 feet for an RMC conversion is not a problem! My personal guess for the name was that they were just going to call it Wildcat again (or maybe WildKat), as a nod to history--I suppose this is pretty close.
I think that the reason they made this 140 ft is to connect younger thrill-seekers with a larger coaster. Some of Hersheyparks smaller roller coasters like Fahrenheit or Great Bear, may be daunting for younger people because of the feet dangling or the vertical lift. Wildcat’s Revenge will really be good for introducing multiple inversions and airtime without being to intimidating for younger riders.
I wonder if they went 140 ft for either cost savings since they just bought a B&M or 170 might not have Aligned within the old Wildcat plot and it would be faster to reuse Wildcat footers. Probably the reason the video was Delayed was to get hyped for season passes and to See where RMC scheduled is before we get a Iron Gwazi SBO or pulling a Six Flags Westcoast Racers
I could be wrong but it looks like there is a mid course. Also, Hersheypark confirmed in the comments on Facebook that there will be separate load and unload stations.
It looks like if RMC had converted Texas Giant in 2015 instead of 2011. I'm excited. I think this will really add a lot to a park that already has so much to offer. After this the only thing I'd add to improve the park in a major way would be better entertainment and shows. But they have the rides pretty well covered, not to mention a great water park, good food and a pretty cool little zoo.
Liking what I see. I did want RMC to do a Jojo Roll straight out of the station to introduce a new element in their line up, but I'll certainly take this. Yeah, high hopes for an out of the blue element, but with the station so high off the ground, I thought it would be perfect.
Great video. The OG Montezoomas Revenge is my favorite coaster with Revenge in the title. Although they've changed the name now at knotts For when it reopens.
Hersheypark is now in that upper tier of parks that includes Cedar Point, Kings Island, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Six Flags Great Adventure. People for years have compared CP and SFMM, but I immediately interject that you need to include SFGAdv in the conversation. KI is now up there after floundering at mid-tier status for a while, but now Hersheypark has inserted itself into the upper tier. Hershey has become a must visit now - well rounded collection with Fahrenheit, Storm Runner, Great Bear, Skyrush, Candymonium, Lightning Racer, and now Wildcat's Revenge.
I would like to think that with Wildcat's Revenge, Hershey now will hold the best coaster collection of the world ahead of both MM and CP. Good for them to include 3 trains and now it gives me the idea that I would like to see MM renovate Twisted Colossus to include a dedicated unload station to help with that rides operations and have a better chance for multiple duels once again!
Kings Island doesn’t have one standout coaster…. That’s definitely an opinion thing because Orion, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, Beast, or Banshee could all be that standout coaster…. Especially Orion.
@@KeepRidinCoasters You need to make a video "how to ride skyrush". Thighcrush is the worst riding experience i've had since Hercules at Dorney Park. I can't even fathom how someone could rate it ahead of Orion, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers or Banshee. And to be clear, i'm an intamin fanboy most days of the week!
As much as I wanted a candy theme for the name, Wildcat's Revenge is just badass and I love how it continues to pay homage to the 1923 Wildcat, which was HersheyPark's first roller coaster ever. (And the RMC would open on what would be that coaster's 100-year anniversary?!?!) I did predict that they would want to move the lift hill and therefore go for the truss. 😜 I'm rather pleased at how much track they're adding. The biggest disappointment for me would be a very short ride duration, so 62 MPH (rather than 70 or 80) might help that. Now I can't wait for the POV!
Its definitely different to what was expected but i already know which out of the 2 new RMCs opening in the US is going to be and I believe its this one!
This is definitely going to put Hershey with the best coaster line up. The wife and I are heading your way this weekend to finally ride Fury325 maybe see you at Carowinds
I think it will be the best or second beat coaster at HP. It depends how you feel about SkyRush. In terms of overall RMC's- I've been on all of them in the US other than Jersey Devil, and I think best case this could challenge Twisted Timbers as the best of the small RMC's. I still think it will be good enough to be in the Twisted Colossus, Iron Rattler, Storm Chaser range. In terms of the parks, I think Cedar Point is slightly #1 but HP and SFMM are 1A & 1B. It is real close between these 3 parks. Once CP replaces Dragster I think that will be enough to push it to be the clear #1.
This made my day when I saw Hersheypark made the official announcement. The colors are absolutely perfect and I think the name is perfect too because wild cat the right itself is getting revenge of getting a second or third chance of life but in a completely different way. I know this is comparing apples to oranges to a point does this compare to what Topfield dragster is going to go through or is this different? Are they comparable if so or if not can you please explain in greater detail? In addition to that who will be the star attraction in the park? How would that change our strategy if you want to maximize our day to hit every roller coaster? Something to think about
I don’t think size matters. One of my favorite coasters ever is Twisted Timbers and it’s only 111ft tall! Even though Wildcat’s Revenge won’t break any records, it looks sick and could easily be in my top 10.
I’ve heard rumors from ride ops that Wildcats revenge was supposed to be 165 ft but the township didn’t let them for some reason. I mean it makes sense because derry township has always been really hard on Hershey. It sucks but hey it’s still an RMC
It will ABSOLUTELY be better than Magic Mountain!!! I am from So. Cal and Magic Mountain is my second favorite park. Second to Cedar Point. I am so excited to be moving to Maryland in the coming weeks. I will be a few hours away from Hersheypark and can’t wait to experience this ride and all the others in their lineup. I really do feel this is a better lineup than Magic Mountain but I won’t know for sure until I actually get to go the the park. Which will be in my near future!!!! 🤗
I think it looks great. I would love to see a video of a hybrid RMC of son of beast. It could break all of the hybrid records with a black paint job and some sinister highlights to it.
Initially I said it’s underwhelming…for an enthusiast, maybe. From a park and GP perspective this will be huge hit. I’m excited either way. Kennywood is my home park, I’m so happy PA finally has an RMC!
yeah because we are spoiled with SV and IG but this will be a top 3 rmc once it opens never judge a rmc on photos and videos i leanred that with IG and WC
3 train ops could have been done in current station. Station load, brake run outside, stop block on storage shed transfer track. I think we will see just one station load and unload.
This could be the thing that pushes me from Six Flags to Hersheypark (well depending on how the Six Flags brand gets shaken up; as alluded to in your prior videos)
Yeah same with me. I had a six flags season pass for the last 2 years, but I am going to be getting a Hershey Park one next year because of Wildcats Revenge. Six flags new management is bad and I don’t know how long El Toro will be closed for, or if it will ever open again.
This is a great coaster but WW at Magic Mountain is compatible since they’re both “new coasters”. MM has a lot more variety so overall, has the better lineup IMO. But I haven’t been to Hershey yet! :(
For me, 140 is perfect. WIldRev looks like a mini Zadra, which is awesome. I hope the pacing is outstanding, not a fan of some RMC's pacing, so having Gwussy's pacing is going to be the gravy.
I believe that Hershey Park, which is only 90 minutes away from me, has the more unique roller coasters out there for a line up, all different, and to be honest, I really Love Great Bear, great little invert. They do need to move the crowds, so I agree with unloading station, some parks need to do that more.
Honestly my very first thought after seeing the stats was "so basically cyclone at SFNE 2.0". I was hoping for a 200ft, I'm sure it will be great like All other rmc's but I feel like they had a chance to build the hype like iron gwazi did.
i guess this ride will be #2 in the park behind skyrush, I just dont think it'll be better than it, but who knows it totally could be. Before this ride, I'd always thought hersheys lineup was top 3, behind sfmm and cp, I've never been to sfmm, but even with hersheys new rmc, I still think sfmm looks a bit better in terms of coasters because they just have so many.
I saw someone say the name should be hellcat and i would have loved that name ( because of the dodge hellcats of cause 😂😂) wouldnt have been mad if they made a challenger and charger train
Best coaster parks are (in no part order): Sfgadv, MM, Cp, KI, BGW, Hershey. The clones detract from the Six Flags parks a ton imo. But I think CP and KI are each missing 1-2 coasters to be the best. For me though I enjoy overall the coasters at Hershey/BGW the most. And while I don’t care for RMC this was a needed redo as Wildcat was painful for a while. I wish they had went the Gci titan track route though. And KI doesn’t have a stand out coaster, that’s a bold statement a lot of ppl will disagree with. However I think their biggest gap is a ride like Maverick or abyssus. Man if they’d have Vekoma create a massive looper (in the vortex plot) starting with a lift hill and then a couple of inversions, then go into a launch track into a huge top hat (where the batwing used to be) then a lot of airtime hills and transitions; that would get ppl talking.
I agree that Kings Island doesn't have a true #1 coaster. SFGrAdv has El Toro, SFMM has X2 & Twisted Colossus, BGW has Pantheon, and I have a feeling that 2024/2025 project could be huge, HP has SkyRush and the new RMC., but CP has Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Magnum, and I guess Milly that you could count as a #1. KI has more clones than SFMM. At least the 2 clones at SFMM (WW and Batman) are both really good, KI has Backlot which is a family coaster, and Invertigo which isn't good. Kings Island needs a true #1 coaster. Mystic is a great #2 or maybe a 1A coaster, but it lacks the standout the other parks on the list have. Operationally Kings Island is great but the strength of their coaster line-up is drastically overrated in the community.
With Hydra the Revenge, Phantom’s Revenge and Wildcat’s Revenge. Knoebels should change the name of Flying Turns to … Flying Turns The Revenge if they have any more issues with it. 😅
Lineups: 1. Cedar point 2. Kings island 3. Magic mountain 4. Bgardens Tampa 5. Hershey park (Bgardens Williamsburg might jump into too 5 depend on 2024 announcement)
i'm willing to bet the reason for the not 160+ 1st drop probably has to deal with it being more money. could be wrong, but i think the public will eat this ride up, and keep the lines flowing for days on end.
Looks great, but personally Im not to crazy about with the name, though its much better than something like "(Insert Iron or Steel) Original name here".
2:23 *cries in Hydra the Revenge* As far as if Hershey is better than Magic Mountain now, I still think MM has a better coaster collection. X2 is a one of a kind (in North America at least, the world if there's a significant difference between Arrow and S&S 4D coasters), West Coast Racers is honestly one of my favorite rides and I don't get all the hate for it. Tatsu is a top tier flying coaster, the best one I've been on by a long shot. Apocalypse is a pretty good GCI, not one of the best, but still a fun ride. Plus their clones are only clones of good coasters (Batman and Medusa/Scream), not a Vekoma Boomerang.
Should of called it Thundercat and gave it a 92 degree first drop . This could of easily been done . Also there’s no way you can run 3 trains here with this short of track length . Gonna be stacking on the final break , even with the unload station .
It's not like this is an unpopular opinion, but I have a real soft spot for Hershey's lineup and tend to agree that this will tip it over MM's. Each park has some standout attractions that the other has no real answer for, but when you make the most obvious comparisons, I think Hershey might now come out on top. It could come down to how this compares to Twisted Colossus, but even if it's not as good, it may be enough for Hershey to just edge out MM-- subjective, of course. That said, MM has a few big attractions for which Hershey has no real competitor like Tatsu and X2 (and a couple others that arguably matter less, like Ninja or Escape from Krypton), but it's an open question whether these still put Magic Mountain out front. Hershey has a couple of unique offerings in their line-up, too, but I think less. Basically, this addition makes it a true photo finish for me and I'd have to sit and compare to really make the call. Magic Mountain does have fewer clones than some SF parks, at least of the rides that make their core lineup, but I think with this being added in particular I will prefer Hershey's offerings on the whole.
I wouldn't put Hersheypark's coaster line up anywhere the top three - possibly not even in the top 10. Everything at Hersheypark was something I have experienced bigger or better somewhere else - right down to mine train and schwarzkopf looper. This new ride is middle of the road and should fit right in with what this park offers.
Magic Mountains top 5 vs Hersheys X2, Twisted Colossus, Tatsu, Full Throttle, & WWFOC or WCR Vs Candymonium, Fahrenheit, Sky Rush, Wildcats Revenge, & storm runner or great bear
I feel like a lot of us wanted "Wildcat's Revenge". I also predicted about 170-ish feet, but either way it looks awesome!!
It does 💯
I can't wait for Hershey Park to open Wildcat's Revenge, I'm going to have to find my way out to Hershey, PA for a vacation next year.
Me too!!!

Variety wise, I feel HP has the best Coaster lineup. But would put it a notch below MM and CP overall because of less intense coasters on average
If this coaster would replace Vortex at KI I would be thrilled. 🤞🤞
Yes love it it be way more better
Yes lol haha
the only major cloned coaster in magic mountains line up is bat man- wonder-woman is different enough from JD that I dont consider it a clone.
Scream, x2 (the others were built after).
@@KeepRidinCoasters x2 hasnt been cloned tho. The S&S models are different layouts.
@@AMCustomCoasters Oh you know what, you're right!! my bad lol
@@KeepRidinCoasters viper was a clone tho
@@KeepRidinCoasters ah forgot about scream.(per Usual) X2 I dont really count, 1 its the original 2: its very different from the 4ds in Asia
Lineups:
1. Cedar point
2. Kings island
3. Magic mountain
4. Bgardens Tampa
5. Hershey park
(Bgardens Williamsburg might jump into too 5 depend on 2024 announcement)
i'm willing to bet the reason for the not 160+ 1st drop probably has to deal with it being more money. could be wrong, but i think the public will eat this ride up, and keep the lines flowing for days on end.
i really wanted twisted twizzlers
Looks great, but personally Im not to crazy about with the name, though its much better than something like "(Insert Iron or Steel) Original name here".
Skyrush!
2:23 *cries in Hydra the Revenge*
As far as if Hershey is better than Magic Mountain now, I still think MM has a better coaster collection.
I believe twisted colossus has 3 trains. Orange, blue, and green
They do but they also offer the 2nd lift hill that acts like a block section/mid course :)
Should of called it Thundercat and gave it a 92 degree first drop . This could of easily been done . Also there’s no way you can run 3 trains here with this short of track length . Gonna be stacking on the final break , even with the unload station .
8:16 I feel people can only say this if they've never ridden Beast at night.
Twisted Twissler would be a better name and fit with Hershey although that name
is really close to Twisted Timbers.
Valid points! Makes sense...
Hakugei runs 3 trains without a mid-course. 😃
they should have gone with Wild Kit Kat. lots of revenge going on in Pennsylvania
Now all Hershey Park needs is a dive coaster. And I will have no reason to go to cedar point anymore.
I like the name wildcat’s revenge
absolutely a better line up than Magic Mountain!
Magic Mountains top 5 vs Hersheys
X2, Twisted Colossus, Tatsu, Full Throttle, & WWFOC or WCR
Vs
Candymonium, Fahrenheit, Sky Rush, Wildcats Revenge, & storm runner or great bear
the roller coaster was what I expected, but I don't like the name at all
