Hershey Park has such a perfect line-up. It has a good launched coaster in Stormrunner, a good floater machine in Candymonium, an intense ride in Skyrush, an invert in Great Bear, a woodie in Lightning Racer, and now an ejector machine in Wildcat's Revenge. Even if none of these coasters are the best in their respective categories, they're all still pretty good and the fact that Hershey has at least one of those archetypes, is amazing.
Oddly if you look at its history the coasters broke a lot of new grond. SooperDooperLooper: First Looping Coaster on the East Coast. Sidewinder: First Boomerang to use Vekoma trains over ones made by Arrow. Great Bear: First invert coaster in PA. Lightning Racer: First Wooden Racing and Dueling coaster. Stormrunner: First accelerator coaster with inversions.
"First Wooden Racing and Dueling coaster. " In the US, maybe? CCI's Stampida at PortAventura is 3 years older (I think it might have been the direct inspiration for Lightning Racer though it's shorter), and I'm not sure if that was the first one either.
@@MattMcIrvin Stampida is just a racing coaster as the tracks stay side by side. Lightning Racer has the side by side racing elements but also dueling elements where the tracks and trains separate and perform near miss fly-bys of each other.
Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the racing moment on Lightning Racer at Hersheypark because they were only running two trains on the same track. 😪
I rode this the last two days with my dad. Twice in the front, 3 times in the back. Once again, RMC did a phenomenal job with this one. It was loads of fun and it was GLASS SMOOTH!
I remember not too long ago this would have been a definite 10/10. RMC have quite literally changed the scale. Well... everyone else is making bangers too, so I guess it's just a really good time to like Roller Coasters.
Back when RMC was just getting started, everything was a 10/10. Now that their rides just keep getting better and better, the standard has been set so high that it would feel wrong giving every RMC a perfect score!
@@CoasterStudios I can definitely see that. Now that I just rode my second RMC, steel vengeance, I think wicked cyclone, , my first RMC, is still a 10/10. But, as I ride more RMCs, the older ones that I already rode might start to drop for me which is fine.
As somebody who prefers Intamin's over B&M's in almost every instance, I was completely blown away by Candymonium's airtime and speed. I thought it would pale in comparison to Stormrunner, Skyrush and Fahrenheit from an intensity standpoint but the airtime and speed was awesome. Throw an amazing RMC into the mix... @@jcspotter7322 Hershey has been a great park for years, absolutely. But top tier? I don't know. Having to lap Sky/Storm/Fahrenheit/Great Bear was getting old and thus why I would go to SF GA for the bigger lineup. I LOVED THIS COASTER! I had the best time on this ride. You hit the best points on this coaster! The airtime hill is STELLAR! Absolutely an amazing layout! Great video!
Crazy to think how Pennsylvania already has one of the best coaster lineups of any US state, and this is their first RMC. Also, I think this addition makes HersheyPark’s coaster lineup one of the strongest in the world, and I mean they’re definitely challenging Kings Island & Cedar Point for sure.
Its the pacing of this coaster…its literally WILD right out of the station! There isn’t a dull moment! This thing hauls through its layout too! Was not expecting that from just a 140 ft drop! Must ride! I suggest fast pass for this one bc it’s usually 90min or more wait without one. 😌
Not always. I rode it twice on Monday and waited 20 min and then about 40 min. First time on was around 11:30 and then later on around 3:45. Just gotta time it right!
I rode it 3 times yesterday and it was 30 minutes or less all 3 times. I rode it 7 times so far and believe it or not my longest wait was during the preview on May 30th so I’d say plan to go on a weekday
Rode it on Saturday, was like an hour wait but it was cool, took lots of pics & love the double sided lockers and one thing I also loved...the handles by your legs, like gripping a stick shift on both sides...this thing was so aggressive and fun...my fave coaster at Hershey, with Skyrush not far behind...
Great review. Rode this on opening morning. The operations on this are unreal. It is now my overall #2 behind Skyrush. Fantastic ride with a ton of great elements. Hats off to HP and RMC.
Me and my friends who are mostly afraid of coasters just got back from riding it. Everyone was blown away with how good it was. Seriously RMC doesn’t miss.
I honestly can’t wait to ride it this year. I haven’t ridden other RMC such as Iron Rattler, Twisted Timbers, Goliath, and Lightning Rod. But I think after a ride or 2, it will be my favorite RMC I rode. For me, Skyrush hurts my thighs too much so it’s a once and done ride, as I like Candymonium better due to nice floater airtime and better re-ride-ability. But I think Wildcat’s Revenge will eventually by my favorite ride in the park.
Just rode it today and lemme say it’s like a mini iron gwazi, back row is 100% way to go. Great airtime and the underflip is great. Drop is good to for a sub 200ft coaster. I would put it top 2 at Hershey with skyrush and my second favorite RMC behind iron gwazi
I'm an operator on this ride, and I also have no idea what the strap is for. It's not for us, since it's too close to the hinge of the restraint. It would be like closing a door by pushing on the hinges. Also, during our training we're explicitly told to not pull on it to check. I think management asked for it and rmc was like "okay, i guess". My guess is that it's for comfort for the guests because I think it is a nicer and more comfortable grab bar than the two joysticks. I wish we had one of the straps on the side like other rmcs because with how heavy these restraints are and how rigid they are where we pull too, it sucks to check restraints.
i adore hershey and rmc wildcat was something that i *really* wanted, and this ride did not disappoint! it exceeded my expectations to be honest and i’m so glad there is now a ride like this at hersheypark!
I just rode for the first time yesterday and your review is extremely spot on, I agree with everything you’ve said! I’m a Skyrush fanboy but this is such a more well rounded experience, I’m having a hard time choosing between them. Also, I preferred the front on Wildcat’s Revenge to the back, which surprised me!
So excited! I planned a trip to Hershey park this summer before they announced the ride and I couldn’t be more excited to ride!!! I’ve only ridden steel vengeance and Goliath at great America so I’m excited to see how this compares to those two!!
Hershey Park is just incredible. Wild Cat's Revenge is another solid addition to a great coaster lineup. I was lucky enough to ride it last weekend and it didn't disappoint! I would say Skyrush is still my overall favorite roller coaster but Wild Cat's Revenge is very close. As both a coaster fan and father of 2 young kids I can't praise Hershey Park enough. It's has awesome rides for everyone. My 3 y/o loves Trailblazer and my 9 y/o went on Great Bear, Comet and did multiple rides on Lightning Racer. I can't wait to go back.
Was at hershey the last few days and rode this a bunch of times. It's so fast and chaotic lol. I've ridden steel vengeance, twisted tumbers, and lightning rod beforehand. This is definitely my second favorite RMC behind vengeance
I got over my fear of rollercoasters this weekend and this was my first big step up from the smaller coasters and I was so happy to have ridden it opening weekend. It was much more fun than skyrush for me, I don't know why but I didn't get a lot out of skyrush. It was fun but I don't really understand the hype in retrospect, maybe I was just not in a good spot and need to ride in the wing seat? Anyway, WR was my absolute favorite coaster in the entire park. It felt like I was in a crazy pinball machine, so much fun. I held onto those restraint grips for dear life 😅
Skyrush retains a ‘mythical status’ for being wild with airtime before the RMC dominated era, IMO, plus there is something alluring about its seat’s ‘injury inducing’ lack of lateral support. Ultimately, I think it’s now completely outclassed now by both RMCs and other modern Intamins. But I respect it for aiming to be hardcore.
Just hit Hershey this past weekend first time since as a little kid...because of lines, didn't get to go on everything, but that leaves the rest for next time I go, which will be when their next coaster opens...of the ones I DID ride, Wildcat's Revenge was my fave, only my second RMC (first was Wicked Cyclone), and this kicked WC's butt...will do this thing everytime I go...the whole Hershey experience is massive, went for 2 1/2 days and you need almost a week to see everything...and my top 3 I did ride...Wildcat #1, Skyrush #2 & Candymonium #3...that thing was like a better Nitro...love this place & the park was like a great mix of the current & nostalgic...
I had the opportunity to ride Wildcat three times this past weekend....FUN!...I completely agree with the review. I do, however, want to add that my third ride took place in the very late afternoon and there was a noticeable difference in speed. It was a warm day and it seemed to be flying on my last ride. The seat belt buckles are actually hard plastic!...first time I've seen that. If this were a little taller and steeper (and faster)...would be very comparable to SteVe and Gwazi. Going to Atlanta next month and looking forward to Arie!
Rode this today with my son, and we agree (mostly)... he's a "Hershey" so can't do the biggest/baddest coasters, but this was definitely his favorite of what he could ride... I will say though, as someone who is 6' tall, I found the leg restraint painful, I had to pull my heels back & up as far as I could to take pressure off the front of my shins, and I still had a bruise there by the end of the ride
I’m gonna be riding it this weekend. This will be my 3rd RMC. Can’t wait😊. Like I said last time. Skyrush, Candymonium, and Candymonium. This is the best top 3 in the country. Edit. Well maybe not until the wildfire smoke clears. If not, I’ll have to wait till next weekend.
Rode it 4 times Monday. Best in the park. I also am gonna get hate for this, but I prefer it over Gwazi. It just has so many elements and feels special.
Just did it 4 times yesterday. It's amazing, the beginning and end kind of remind me of twisted timbers with a smaller version of Iron Gwazi in the middle. I'd give it a 9.5, it's currently my #3. I rode Arie Force One today :)
Just visited HP for the first time yesterday. Blown away by the abundance of great coasters. We were only able to ride 5 of the coasters, lots of showers. In order Superduperlooper Sky Rush Great Bear Fahrenheit Wildcats Revenge (twice) So hard to rank but #1 is a toss up between Wildcats Revenge and Sky Rush I would best describe these two as Wildcats Revenge WOW and Sky Rush WTF. Wildcats Revenge was awesome in every way but Sky Rush was so insane it can not be talked about.
The only other RMC hybrid I've been on is Wicked Cyclone at my home park, SFNE. I feel like Wicked Cyclone is an absolutely aggressive barrage of elements where every second some new sensation is thrown at you. You don't have a second to breath or to take it in. Where at wildcats revenge feels like it has the same amount of elements, just stretched out a little more, and made to feel less forceful. Overall I personally like WC more that WR, but I still love WR
Something interesting to note-they allow you to keep your stuff if you have zipper pockets. I didn't realize this until I was there opening weekend. That is not the case with the cedar fair rmc's
My first ride on opening day shot it up to #1 at Hershey and for RMC. A 2nd ride two weeks later followed a fantastic ride on Skyrush and I wasn’t as sure. I’m going back this Friday for the tie breaker, but I’m 99% sure it will be Wildcat. This will be a night ride.
I riden Wildcats Revenge at Hersheypark just a couple of days ago and I will give that ride a 10 out of 10 because it is a solid RMC Coaster and if you ride in the back seat you get whipped into every element very quickly! 🙂
@@DraxWithASax yeah I totally agree. But I have been on it and I have see a ton of other UA-camrs rank it as a upper-tier RMC which I agree with. But yeah like all RMC’s are rly good though too.

@@jac_238 problem is I’m not quite able to drive yet, almost there though. This summer I’m trying to go to Cedar Point though, hopefully that plays out.
Rode wildcat revenge today and it was a badazz ride i give RMC much respect as usual lol BTW skyrush new restraints are very well made my top 5 coasters in random order so far is El toro , steel vengeance , wildcat revenge , fury 325 , and intimidator 305 skyrush did not make my list because after the first drop the coaster is pretty dull
Wicked awesome pacing, the double down is sooo good, was looking forward to that every time after the first ride. My wonder was why the ride ops were not letting folks bring their lap bars down. Really seemed to slow down load times
They treat the lap bars on Steal Vengeance at Cedar Point the same way. I believe it's because the ops are required to visually inspect the seatbelts and pull down the lapbars themselves, for whatever reason lol. Really slows down the load times, especially if a guest pulls the lapbar down on their own. Then the ops have to tell the person in the control room which seat to release and recheck the restraints
Just rode this thing four times this weekend including in the pitch dark for Halloween nights. After Velocicoaster, this is my favorite. Love that glass smoothness as i have to be very careful about rattly coasters these days. Had 4 disappointing rattly rides on Candymonium (every single train) and cannot figure out how it could have changed so much in just a year. Last year at this time is was so smooth I did it 8 times in a row. Could never have done that this year. It isn't even an old coaster so this was extremely disappointing. Thank goodness wildcat more than made up for it.
I'm not sure about that- I don't recall seeing a way for guests to get off the train, because the gates are just for loading, I'm not sure how they would be able to exit
Last weekend (during the storm) best day ever in a Park! First half i thought ... worst day raining raining raining... but then..... BEST! Less visitors! 30min. approximately minimum 30min. Candymononium without standing up in der 2nd last row, skeyrush 5-7 times, all frught housrs withount waiting and the best (with some unknown american guys I met there) i think minimum 1h wildcats revenge (get through the disabled entrance in the station directly in the waiting train) without a break! That was the first i can say a had realy enough of it... the last rounds was fighting... :-) my porkbelky :-) was a little in pain because the restrain must be pressed down, and during airtime it pressed against my belt buckel. The airtime is so crazy, i was liftet up in the train. The guys were laughing because they saw it from behind (it was no danger for me but the looks a little crazy!)
Good question. I was thinking about that as well as Hershey typically allows unlimited re-rides if there is no one in queue but in this case -- I don't know if that will be possible.
Great video! I can totally see it being a favorite of many, but man Skyrush just looks so incredible. I hope to have time to fly up to Hershey and check out the park. Still, it looks like a fantastic ride, im glad they optimized loading since hershy looks like a packed park! And im really curious how both rerides on WCR and AFO will change your opinions, especially if whatever cocaine they put in the AFO wheels is also in WCR. Either way, keep up the awesome work y'all!
I agree with the score, because I gave an A- because this rmc has attitude. Like it went to SteVe and cried on its shoulder about why folks don’t like her anymore and SteVe have her pointers. The night ride was definitely better because you literally can’t see a thing especially from the back. You are hitting those elements out of the blue that will have you asking WTF just happened, just now😂
I'm glad to see there are hand grabs, since I hate that about RMCs, although this joystick style seems odd. I've always been puzzled by RMC's sadistic lack of something designed to hold on to, but I obviously don't get it. Maybe I'll try this one.
Wildcats revenge is a BEAST. I rode Wildcat and it was TERRIBLE. It was so painful. Me and my friends celebrated when we heard it was getting the RMC treatment. Wildcats Revenge is so good. So fast, so whippy, and just so powerful. I’d say it’s my second favorite after candymonium. When I went the line was pretty short so it was a walk on, and I would’ve riden it again and again if it hadn’t shaken my head up and made me feel pretty dizzy 😂 definitely need a short break after riding this (I did get to ride it 3 times)

“The theme is that it’s the old ride but a lot better now” Man that was so funny
Rode this for the first time yesterday. Seems like the lockers being in the middle of the line tanks the wait time.
I’m suprised you didn’t mention the music in the station.
So which did ya prefer more? This or AFO?
I also rode 4 times yesterday! Probably saw you in line haha!
bro same (actually it was 6 tho)
this is the best ride in the park
This if I'm being honest. The ending of AFO hurts me
I've only been to Hershey Park one time, and it was in 2009. Looks like I have a lot of new things to experience. Can't wait to ride this coaster.
Changes include: Roller Soaker and Flying Falcon removed, Resse's Extreme Cup Challenge transformed into Resses Cup Fusion, Skyrush, Candymonium, Chocolate Town, Breakers Edge and Whitecap Racer, Laff Trakk, Mxd, and Sidewinder becoming Jolly Rancher Remix.
Just visited HP for the first time yesterday. Blown away by the abundance of great coasters. We were only able to ride 5 of the coasters, lots of showers. In order
Superduperlooper
Sky Rush
Great Bear
Fahrenheit
Wildcats Revenge (twice)
So hard to rank but #1 is a toss up between Wildcats Revenge and Sky Rush
I would best describe these two as Wildcats Revenge WOW and Sky Rush WTF.
Bruv Wicked Cyclone doesn't even have a pre-lift section!! Spotted the BABA BOOEY
Something interesting to note-they allow you to keep your stuff if you have zipper pockets. I didn't realize this until I was there opening weekend. That is not the case with the cedar fair rmc's
Definitely an addition thats good for the park.
It’s not good for the park it’s the best for the park
I’m goin to Hershey in July and this is the first ride I’m gonna get on, I’m so excited
Rode it this summer definitely agree with all points made and though I would absolutely recommend it
My first ride on opening day shot it up to #1 at Hershey and for RMC. A 2nd ride two weeks later followed a fantastic ride on Skyrush and I wasn’t as sure. I’m going back this Friday for the tie breaker, but I’m 99% sure it will be Wildcat. This will be a night ride.
Ride this thing at night!! Just rode it an hour ago before closing. HAULSSSSS 🔥🔥
I riden Wildcats Revenge at Hersheypark just a couple of days ago and I will give that ride a 10 out of 10 because it is a solid RMC Coaster and if you ride in the back seat you get whipped into every element very quickly! 🙂
I can't believe how much that structure is moving! I hope there is no problems in the future!
It was a very hot day on opening day and that thing is something else when it’s warm.
To anyone living in this area, be careful with the wildfire smoke!
- Hersheypark Ride Operator
The lack of long lines yesterday far outweighed my worry for the smoke. This morning was pretty bad though
Hershey officially has the best coaster line up in the northeast 🙌🏻
i used the bull riding grip to make me feel like i was riding a roscoe irl
Crazy how a mid RMC is a 9 out of 10. Shows you how good RMC’s actually are…
But Wildcat is not a mid RMC 🤔
Well in the context of Taylor's review, he considers it mid to upper tier RMC and that still warranted a 9 from him
@@DraxWithASax yeah I totally agree. But I have been on it and I have see a ton of other UA-camrs rank it as a upper-tier RMC which I agree with. But yeah like all RMC’s are rly good though too.
@@Keelay04 yeah the fact that a lot of them are so interchangeable between different people is a testament to their consistent high quality.
@@DraxWithASax yeah my friend that’s an RMC hater ranked it as the third best ride in Hershey Park 😂. Wildcat is an ez #1 in the park for me because RMC is by far my favorite coaster manufacturer.
This review is very helpful. Thank you 😊
I was waiting for this, this is my only RMC cause it’s at my home park. It’s my number 1 or 2 (can choose between Skyrush or Cat)
Jersey Devil isn’t that far from you
@@jac_238 problem is I’m not quite able to drive yet, almost there though. This summer I’m trying to go to Cedar Point though, hopefully that plays out.
This coaster must SLAP
It does
Looks awsome! Riding it in July
@@Wildcattttt wait...
@@Wildcattttt I wonder if they added 80s music on ride audio
i have only rode Twisted Timbers so i must Ride this and any other RMC
Arie Force One really brings that RCT "too intense for me" saying to real life
I rode Six seven times, and it's my #1 coaster at Hersey....
Thank goodness wildcat more than made up for it.
and to make things even more amazing it was opened a century after the joy ride was opened at hersheypark!
They should add another block right outside unload so if the train stacks it is like half in the final brakes and they can have some crazy multi move
I’m so excited going back on Columbus Day weekend on Saturday for dark nights in October and I might j ride Wildcats revenge the whole time lol
Ooh baby that looks wobbly..
Now they need to paint all the wood in black! Would look even better.
I need to go back to Hersheypark!
That really should have been Wildcat at Michigan's Adventure.
7:16 Look how much the support structure moves to the left while the train passes by.
Went on it for the first time today. Maybe the best coaster at Hershey Park but it def falls short of Steel Vengance and even El Toro
I believe the load station could still be used for unloading, Ive seen some videos that show the arriving train passes through the unload area
I'm not sure about that- I don't recall seeing a way for guests to get off the train, because the gates are just for loading, I'm not sure how they would be able to exit
Amazing coaster love it best in the park
Because there are so many RMCs now, it's very rare to see an RMC get a perfect 10/10
I haven’t ridden this yet, but it does remind me of a mini Iron Gwazi. Looks amazing 👏👏👏
Wish this ride was longer
Candymonium is a amazing B&M Hyper coaster and Wildcat is a great RMC
I look forward to riding this! I guess I will give Skyrush another chance. My first time riding it was brutal and painful!
Damn, I worked right across from HP until I had to switch down to Texas. Would have loved to marathon this.
I really want to see a video at Silver Dollar city again!
My favorite part is the ending when it is low to the ground
At this moment, What do you like better about arieforce1? I was curious what your explanation would be. Thanks for the review!
I think ArieForce One has more and stronger 'wow' moments.
Can the load platform also double as a load/unload platform on quieter days? Sort of like Taron's station?
I dont believe so
Good question.
The first drop in the front was fun but in the last row was shocking
Hot take: out of the RMCs I have been on: Iron Gwazi, Twisted Cyclone, Wicked Cyclone, and Iron Rattler, this is the best one.
What we’d give to visit hersheypark!! It’s very much in the to do list
Voyage has a lateral in the middle of its triple down, but this looks like it hits it faster.
