Just bought a One plus for it's size (I use it with a powerbank) but totally agree, price difference is always covered with sounds and plug-in. I'm almost sorry I hadn't choose the key37 . All are nice pieces of hardware for that money. Most of all I love Akai sound quality with recordings too. Il love producing beats but I'm a bass player since decades. Recordings with MPC are great with it's stock line in plug-in. I started recording on Fostex 4tracks, I know what I say , very easy making it sound almost perfect , really love mine ❤
I have them both and use them both. Each one gives me a different vibe. The MPC One i travel with and the MPC 37Keys i keep at home as a center piece to my studio. Both are excellent
I traded my black MPC One for a MPC Key 37 and couldn't be happier. It's a nice compact sized keyboard MPC workstation in one unit. As Bolo said, it's only one unit I have to plug in and it's compact for traveling as well. Previously, I was always connecting an external midi keyboard to the MPC One every time I wanted to play keys with it, making for a clunkier setup. With the MPC KEY-37, I don't have to worry about that. That's the reason I bought the KEY-37.
@WssHood I think they took off either $200 or $250 for it, which is pretty good for a trade-in. I didn't have the MPC One+. I just had the regular MPC One.
@@BoloDaProducerI’m just not learning about mpc Products, all I want to do is learn how to make beats and sample other music, is the live 2 a good starting point?
I'm FL Studio first. but, I hang out with the MPC Crowd because all of my Akai Midi Controllers came with the MPC Software... So once in a while a mess around with the MPC Studio. If I was to get a Stand Alone I'd get the Key 37 because it has a Keyboard on it...
I recently got the MPC one plus and I love. It stores conveniently in a bag during times when I'm on the road and get the urge to make a beat or two. It definitely feels like a portable DAW.
If you’re a pads > keys type producer you’ll prefer the One over the Key 37 because the pads are centered. If you’re more of a producer that prefers the keys then go Key 37. To the people leaning towards buying the One I’d recommend people be patient and save up to get a Live 2 instead of a MPC One. I know it’s difficult to wait if you already got the money for the One, but it’s worth it. Of course, that’s just a suggestion.
One thing to note, if you select the MPC+ standalone, you can hook it to a good midi keyboard controller that has really good "arpeggios". This is the benefit of the MPC+. The Key 37 has the same basic arpeggios as the MPC Key 61 and MPC+ and FORCE. I use the Roland Juno D (2024) model as a midi controller for the MPC+. This gives you 1000s of arpeggios to customize and makes your jams better. Great video as always!
I play keys professionally, so the MPC Key 37 got me interested in the MPC again after a somewhat complicated experience with an MPC One about two years ago. I had an opportunity to trade an SP404MK2 for an MPC One Plus. I'm actually glad I went with it even though I was leaning towards the Key 37 because I can choose which amount of keys I need for different scenarios. On top of it, I'm getting that MPC stuff stand/battery combo. I feel like the MPC One/One Plus and Live 1 and 2 are the portable options. All other models are for dedicated studio use.
One thing I don’t like with the MPC ONE+ is the extremely bright leds behind most of the buttons. It makes it hard for me to see the text for the buttons in dimly lit rooms.
Getting the one+. Like the smaller size and already have a small midi keyboard and for closer access to the pads (main point for me). Stayed with this video anyway because of how nice Bolo is :)
I love both of them, but i perfer the one plus because its nice and centered far as the pads and the screen. Key 37 is a state of art with it's capabilities but i will be getting a Roland Juno with my one plus and that's because of the sounds.
I started with the MPC One because of the low acquisition cost in case I didn’t like it. It click with me and I regretted not getting the Live II with its battery and built in speakers. So I got the Live II later. Then the Key 61 came out and I knew that would be the perfect workstation for my needs. I say just get the Key 37 if you know your way around a keyboard and you don’t need the Key 61. The One is my least used MPC and Key 61 is my most used.
I've got the MPC One +, and will probably get a Roland Juno or something to that effect. I love what the One plus can do, and thankfully content creators have made the learning curve very quite fun.
I started off with the One+ then upgraded to the Key 37. The only problem is I later added a Kontrol S61 controller which makes the keys on the Key 37 a little redundant. Still both MPCs are excellent.
The key 37 came out right after I bought the one plus and a midi controller . Wish I saw it first . But the Mpc fits n my bookbag n it’s easy to make beats at work w headphones. Depends on ya workflow
Ain’t gone lie the mpc 1 is cool but the keys foot pedal and internal storage makes the mpc key 37 a better buy. I’m bout to mod tf out of mines. Bolo I was waiting on this video big dawg
Just Bought my first MPC. The Key 61 is pretty 🔥. Put a 2 terabyte ssd in it. Use it to start projects and finish in Fl studio. Very inspiring piece of equipment!
Between the 2 I’d go with the Key 37 but I just ditched my Machine MK3 and got the Key 61 and I wish I made the jump sooner! Something about the interface just seems easier and more natural and the sounds included are so rad too, can’t wait to jump into it more but definitely MPC Gang for sure
Imma say it’s probably mostly preference I have the one but I’m bout to grab thst live 2 because I like the portability aspect of it , I do love the key 61 too though
I got the MPC Key 61 as a gift to myself now I wish I would have spent a little extra money and gotten the MPC Live 2 and used MPK keyboard 🤦🏾♂️ ya live and you learn 🤷🏾♂️
I was on the fence about which one to grab between the two. I went with the One Plus because I don't really need another keyboard because I already have a Nektar Panorama P6
I’m getting my MPC Key 37 based off your recommendation. Christmas is over and I ain’t gotta buy anything for the kids anymore so now I can worry about me. 😂
As a Maschine refugee, seeking “asylum” in the MPC 3 (beta) firmware, I chose the MPC key 37. The keybed isn’t super, but it has aftertouch, and I don’t have a midi controller with that. For extensive “noodling” and freaking out, I can still plug in my Arturia Keylab essential 61….
Honestly, you can't go wrong with any MPC. Get the MPC KEY 37 if you have the extra cash and will be using the keys for chill chords/bass lines. The pads feel superior on the KEY 37 than MPC ONE+ but the synth action keys may not be best suited for a piano player that's used to playing on weighted keys. I will say the workflow profile is better on the MPC ONE+ and you can MIDI connect or USB connect a MIDI controller or piano if you already own one. If you want a finger drumming AKAI product, that is portable and have great speakers, get the LIVE 2. Thank me later. Solid video BOLO - keep sharing the knowledge!
If you plan on making beats from scratch and don't currently own a midi keyboard then the keys is perfect. If they made a mpc keys with built in battery, speakers and charger it would be goat.
