Thanks, for the review keep it coming. Just got mine S62 Here is what I find it lacking at the moment. 1. Club selection for punch shot when you need to punch out a shot. It will let you input the club but no punch shot offer. 2. There is no re-Tee shot you just get penalize. Once sync through the app it doesn't show your Re-Tee shot it just count as you hit it from the water or wood area. 3. It is not as accurate as the laser finder it off by couple ft. 4. S60 when you press the golf button for a couple second all the golf widget like putter area, flag pin point, wind show up there. They need to bring back the widget shortcut like the S60 into the main golf screen. If you able to figure out please post here. 5. Need WiFi for better connectivity so it don't depend on bluetooth to sync n update. 6. Need shortcut for GPS, Bluetooth for faster on and off switch.
Also what is really cool, is after your 5 rounds your virtual caddie will also take wind speed and direction into account and will suggest the appropriate club AND show you where to aim it is an amazing watch, I highly recommend it :)
@@LetsPlayThru It would be awesome when you also could show some of the garmin golf app features, after you uploaded a round or two, because I really couldn't find a dedicated video about this.
Question, can you edit the shot data after you play? Like for example can you go edit in chip shots or penalty strokes etc? Or does it just assume you hit the center of the green Everytime you get on the green
I have this watch two weeks. So much fun on the golf course. But not only on the course, there is also fun on the tennis court and running. That’s my first smart watch and I love it.
I watched all of your video's on the S62 and decided to upgrade from my Approach S6. Unfortunately, the first one I bought from Golf Town I couldn't get to work properly. It found my home course, but wouldn't update the GPS and move automatically from hole to hole. I reset back to factory default and still nothing. Brought it back for a replacement and will try again tomorrow. Love the in-depth video's.
I have now watched two of your golf watch reviews. I just love your reviews, they really show what the watch can do. You just play way too well to show how it works when you end up in woods ;).
Actually you can touch the yardage numbers and they then change to an adjusted yardage taking the topography of the course into account. For me this is the best feature of that watch, because in Switzerland we have a lot of hilly courses so the air-line distance doesn't help you a lot. Just as an example: Hole 7 at my home course is an up hill hole. 234 meters to the pin, actually playing 265... This is why i got this watch. That is awesome, especially for courses you have not played before. Crucial for example for an uphill dog leg with a bunker at the "knee". only then you know how for far it really is to carry that bunker Also, you can check the current wind and take that into account too. You got to figure it out yourself though, the watch doesn't include the wind into the adjusted yardage numbers but only the slope like mentioned above Also a great feature: The pin pointer. I have played a lot of holes where i could not see the green or the flag stick (from tee shots or approaches). The watch gives you a perfect idea of where to hit so you don't have to walk around like an idiot to figure out the direction to the pin...you know what i mean.
@@ifoundwaldo78 it does but the caddy is pretty much useless because as far is i noticed it only takes direct distance. Not adjusted. Also if you had some crappy shots at the beginning training your virtual caddy, then it will recommend false clubs. And, sadly, the adjusted yardages, as well as the normal one, in standard mode does not take wind into account. You have to check on it separately.
Agreed...great golf watch with really useful features. I am also comparing it to a Voice Caddie T9 and they are both very good...although leaning towards the S62 due to its brighter screen and a bit easier navigation.
Great review. I think it uses a microphone to hear the click of the club hitting the ball to activate the sensor that you actually took a shot. Wish the SkyCaddie had the club tracking because the graphics on that one are insane!!! I find having both the laser range finder and the watch are complementary since none of the watches actually tracks the flag (unless you set it on the unit when you get close enough to see it), but gives you the distance to front, middle and back, then use the range finder for the pin distance…
The Garmin manual isn't very clear on using the S62 autoshot feature so thanks for explaining it clearly. After my first round with the watch I've been wondering how to record the distance of a shot into the green as it doesn't automatically detect putts and assumed I would have use the manual 'Add Shot' option. Hadn't noticed that it automatically detects that you've reached the green. Of course the stats become flawed with duffed fairway shots and particularly wedges which aren't always hit 100% but I guess it's useful for logging information on full shot club distances. Good video.
If I may... it does catch your chip shots, but I'd say probably only 50% of them. But I almost always recognize it when I review the round later and can add those shots in using the phone app or on the website. Also, you mentioned that if you forget to enter the club used before your next swing, it skips it. That's another thing you can go in later and edit the club used on forgotten shots. Another thing I've done is added an extra club I call "CPO" (chip/pitch/other) for shots I don't want assigned to a particular club because I don't want it to count towards the average distance for that club. For instance, my sand wedge, I use more for chips than for full swing and the average distance would probably be less than 20 yards. I also assign flubbed shots (that's the "other") to the CPO club. If I totally hose a shot, I don't need that counting against average for the club, it wouldn't help my game when selecting a club. I love this watch for the statistics it keeps. I know so much more about my game. Knowing the true average distance on my clubs was immensely useful. One thing I didn't know before this watch was that I hit a lot of fairways (kind of hard not to remember bad ones). I'm in the upper 92% (of people that own the watch) on that. Unfortunately, I'm only in the 15% for distance with my driver (about 220 yds on avg). That average would be better if I played downwind more! ;)
That is awesome feedback! I’ve seen the same thing happen with my chips, but maybe not quite as often. Have you found that keeping track of your stats has given you new things to work on? Anything that surprised you?
@@LetsPlayThru My assumptions about club distance were off before the watch and knowing actual distance really helped me pick the right club. Plus I'm now aware of my club distance gaps. I used to just assume a 10 yard distance gap between all clubs. Awareness helps. Also, it's shown me getting up and down from bunkers is one of my weak spots. But it's giving me an upward trend now because I've worked on that a lot. I work on all of my game, but this helps me to focus on areas that need more attention. One little item on the "course performance" that enlightened me. That feature puts your stats together for all of your rounds on a particular course. I can't find this anymore (software change), but you could see what your best and average score is on every hole. I discovered a hole on my favorite course that I had NEVER gotten a par on. Once I discovered that, you can bet that hole got my full attention ever since. It remains mostly a bogie hole still. But yes, I've par'd it and even birdied it now. It's just damned long and takes a really long second shot even if I hit one of my better drives. I love the ability to go back and review every shot on the computer. I know so much more about my game now after owning this watch a few years. I wish I had it sooner.
@@kourt2469 using the Garmin Golf app on your phone. Once the round is complete and saved, you can go back and review. Add shots, add clubs you forgot to enter, a number of things.
Another FAB-ulous segment on the S62 - (Marketing 101 -Features, Advantages, and Benefits)! And from none other than the Carrollhood Golf Course - I'd like to get over there and play that course. FYI - there's a Tampa band called Carrollhood; I thought that was funny! But for real, you've pretty muchsold me on the S62 with your videos. Great job!
Thanks! Your game looks like mine! Would love to see the wind detection and caddy interaction. The watch said gap but you added a club to wedge. The features are amazing! I have never been a watch guy per say and hate anything on my wrist so I am a laser guy. So i check out the Z!
Thanks Giovanni. You can check out the wind feature at 9:50 in the video. Yes, I used to have a gap wedge but I recently removed it from my bag and added a 3 iron. This watch you don't even feel on the wrist. So light and it doesn't get in the way of a swing. Z82 is amazing though too. Just preference.
hi bud I use the s62 and the wind direction and speed is spot on you have to have it paired to your phone by blu tooth and that aint a prob i just leave my phone in the bag :)
2021 - it is essential with any Garmin watch that has a golf feature that you must choose yes to keeping score. This enables the data to be viewed in the Garmin Golf app. I have a Fenix 5x & this provides distance to pins, then sends data to mobile to view afterwards.
I wear my watch on my right wrist because I am predominantly left handed other than playing golf. The club prompt does not come up because Garmin support said I should be wearing this watch on my leading wrist for better detection. This should be able to detect a swing regardless of which wrist you have it on. Hopefully there will be a software update for this. Great review and I really like the watch, but the marketing for this watch should have been more transparent especially for the price tag.
This watch is super impressive. I'm happy I got this one for my dad instead of the S42. He isn't the most tech savvy so this ticks off all the checkmarks. Hopefully it gives him a bigger itch to want to get out more
There is a tempo feature but that’s it for practice. Charging time is less than 2 hours and lasts 2 weeks or approx 3 rounds. Didn’t understand the 3rd question.
Hello many thanks for your advice i may of had it switched off. I have selected it now and will see whT happens during my next round. I watched your video and selected keep a score at startup but it did nog ask what club i had hit. Additionally the manual is suggesting that for virtual caddy to work you have to make a significant purchase ov the ct10 connectors. Thank you i will report back after my next round
The suggestion thing is very cool...hole 19 does similar but not on the watch. For that reason I’m considering getting the arccos system. Also is that a tube buddy hat? I need one of those!
Yeah, it's a super cool idea. And yes, it's a Tube Buddy hat :) I'll pass the request onto my buddy there for you. I'm sure they'd love to get some love down under...wait, that sounds weird. hahaha
I'll def try, that's a good suggestion. Both awesome watches, virtual caddie in the S62 vs green maps and putt line advice on the T9 would be the main difference.
Ok one more comment...you should have a look at the tag heuer golf watch that just dropped...carter’s golf has done a review of it on the earth course in Dubai
Thanks for the review! It's always really windy where I play and I was wondering how accurately it gauges a strong wind in your face regarding club selection? Thanks
Nice Watch! I like all the features this has. Love that the watch tracks your distance and asks what club you used without having to push or scroll on anything. How long did it take to locate the satellites?
It took approx 2-3 min this time. With these things I always recommend locating them right when you get to the course or during warm-up. You don’t want to be standing on the 1st tee waiting. Yes it’s super convenient that it just “knows” when you swing.
Great video. Quick question if you've gotten round to using the virtual caddy. How does it perform in recommending clubs in relation to wind? For example do you find it gets you to club up if the wind is into you, thats the one thing i cant seem to find anywhere.
Great review. I have a Garmin Vivoactive 3 which has the shot detection feature (but doesn't allow you to assign clubs). 90% of the time it picks up a real shot, but 10% of the time it either doesn't detect a real shot, or it counts one of my practice swings as a shot. Is there a way to "discard" a practice shot on the watch, or to manually set that a shot was taken if the watch missed it?
I believe that if you swing again it will re-register. But I would have to test that. I don’t think there’s a way to throw out a swing on the watch, but possibly in the app.
Yes, on the app. one can review the shots on any given hole and it's easy to see the extra shot, simply select the shot and edit it (i.e. select the correct club, or remove the shot entirely).
Hi! Would you happen to know what to do if, after your swing, the watch asks you what club did you use, that you accidentally press the wrong club? Is there a way to correct what you played club you indicated? Thanks!
I'm a new golfer and I take a LOT of strokes. I own this watch and it frustrates me that it's my job to tell the watch how many strokes I took after it just counted each of them. I understand that it can't sense putts. I wish it would say "u took x strokes to get to the green. how many putts did it take to finish the hole?" I hate standing there trying to count how many strokes I took. That's why I bought the watch.
I’m looking into getting the S62 and I’m wondering how well it does tracking where the approach shots land if your next shot is a putt. Do you have to manually log that shot to be accurate or should I get a CT10 for my putter and it will work seamlessly? Thabks
Two great questions. The s62 doesn’t automatically log where the shot lands onto the green. My best guess is it approximates it based on distance to the flag. I do wonder myself how that plays into club distance averages, I’ll have to research that. As for putts, it simply asks how many you took and that is a manual entry once you are on the green.
Great video and review. I wanted to know some of the major differences between the S60 and S62. You answered them! Thank you. Question though... Did you use a selfie stick while recording the video? The camera was very stable even while you were walking.
if you don’t mind a follow-up question, I have an Apple phone/watch and have already purchased the Golfshot Plus app. It has a watch interface, but the interface doesn’t look as user-friendly as the s62. I also am thinking about your advice regarding leaving the phone in the bag and not fiddling with it during a round. Do you think the advantages of the s62 are worth dumping the Golfshot app? I’m happy to write off the app if appropriate. I’m just thinking about the benefits of a watch versus a phone. Thanks for your help.
AusDoug for me the Garmin is a very different experience from most apps- much more intuitive, seamless & ultimately more powerful. The battery on this is incredible and I don’t need the phone which I love.
Great video! So this watch has fitness features also? I golf but I’m also a runner (currently training for a marathon). It would be awesome to have a watch that can do both. Any info/feedback on that would be greatly appreciated!
Lets Play Thru thanks for the quick reply, have you looked at the cobra connect ? That is one I want to research also, I like that the garmin has everything on the watch , I think with the cobra product you use your phone , sometimes phones can be hard to see here in Texas sun
Texoma John Can’t say I have but it seems like an interesting product. I have tried about every watch there is, and this is definitely the best of the bunch.
@@texomajohn2916 cobra connect uses arccos. It's definitely more accurate as far as tracking clubs than the watch because it let's you manually move shots it they are off and I don't know how to do that with the watch. But yes you have to have your phone in your pocket for it to pick up the shots which the watch doesn't. Also the watch has its own gps built in where the cobra connect has to go through your cell phones gps which can be finicky.
Are you able to look at the top-down view of various courses, holes, while not on course? If I wanted to view a brand new course the night before a round to prep from home, is this possible?
Great question, I have been desperately trying to. Apparently that one is only sold thru jewelry stores and boutiques. So my regular channels don’t have access to it unfortunately.
Hello! Once you play the 5 rounds to activate the Virtual Caddy, do I need to constantly upload the scorecards forever? i.e. I just started so I'm sure my yardage will get "better", but I don't want to do the scoring on my watch and phone after I activate it. Can I just use the club prompt feature to upgrade my yardages? Thanks again.
Honestly I thought it would but in practice it really does not. Especially this one it’s so light and unobtrusive I forget it’s on my wrist most times.
I purchase the S62. I only play 9 holes because I am old. Since using the watch I have played about 10, 9 hole rounds. I still don't have the virtual caddy working, not sure if it will without playing 5, 18 hole rounds. My biggest concern is that after using the drive it doesn't show at the top, the distance I hit the driver. Do I have to have the virtual caddy working before it will show this? Any feedback will be appreciated.
The heart rate tracking feature must have come in handy and working overtime with all that heavy breathing from walking! Did any alerts/alarms activate?
Thanks for the nice review. Could you please clarify if is possible to see the shot tempo after every shot in the S62? I understand there is a practice mode for tempo but having each shot tempo during a round will be extremely useful. Thanks so much !
@@LetsPlayThru I just upgraded from S60 but haven't played with it yet. It was my understanding the feature will factor in the wind and show you adjusted yardage. I believe you just showed the ability to view wind speed and direction. I may be mistaken but that's what I got from the instructions.
Great video, I have this watch which I love. When you put in your scores at the end of each hole it asks you what direction you hit the fairway. Mine doesn't do this, however when I link at my stats it shows if I have gone left, right or in the middle. Am I missing a setting on this? Thanks
Thanks. Yes you should be able to enable this. Found these instructions you can try: www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-7681996C-530F-4C69-80C4-3CD20D82746C/EN-US/GUID-5A7361A6-1A15-4E4D-B82C-314A29983CA9.html
Do you have to have a c10 sensor on each club. Or keep swapping censor to clubs as you swing for caddy and suggestion club feature. Or watch knows from simply when you hit next ball and input
@@LetsPlayThru Yes, interesting clubs but when you turn 79, the bag make up has to change. Thank you so much for responding. I think that info pushes me to make the purchase!
I wonder if the watch gives other garmin wearers a real-time pin location based on your manual moving of the pin. Sort of like escort radar detectors allowing other users to see the location of police I’ve spotted and inputted into my device.
Yes it does. However, I have yet to play a round where someone else had placed them in the right spot. So almost always they are sitting in the middle of every green
Great walk-thru off how to use the watch. Question: When i am playing with someone and their drive is shorter than mine the watch does not know that it is not mine but it records as my drive, can you adjust anything to change this or make it work playing my ball? thank you!!
well, the watch shouldn't record theirs. When you take your next swing, it will know where your previous shot landed. However, if you ever need to change a shot or make an adjustment, that can be done within the Garmin Golf app.
@@LetsPlayThru Thank you for your reply, I will take a look next time I play. the watch showing the distance of my drive and other shots is so awesome.
@@LetsPlayThru I agree, can't wait to unlock that feature. I will test out the distance feature again when I go out to play. Stop at my wife's ball first and then mine and see if it still shows how far i hit my ball. thank you for all your help.
Can I come with a request for a video... Could you make a in-depth review of the Garmin app. I want to see what kind of stats you get in there, but can't find a video anywhere.
I have the S62 and think it’s great Barr one annoyance, often let’s say a par 4 I’m on the green for 3 then 2 putt and when I go to enter the putts it will only allow 1 putt ? Has anyone had this or can advise if it’s a fault or a setting ?
Cheers mate. Does this also track your activity, meaning like it would if you selected a hike, walk or run whilst using the watch for the golf features? (So you can see things like the map, distance walked, etc)
Did you have gps issue on first use? I did yesterday. It wouldn’t track yardage for 4 holes. I downloaded connect and connectIQ and something seemed to work after that. Still need to test it on the course. Wasted a round trying to get my 5 rounds for the caddie (played horrible anyways lol)
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show my guess was a syncing issue, because when I downloaded connectIQ, it said not connected, then after downloading connect, it connected on all 3 apps. would be nice if I could use my garmin glo gps thing I use for aviation.
Hi, i bought one of these recently, do you know why the watch doesnt display the hole view once connected to the first tee ? All I'm seeing is the 3 distances ? Thanks
Gerry Scott I played a full round with it yesterday. I started with 97% and ended with 75%. Basically it’s really good. Easily two rounds and probably more. When you’re not playing golf it hardly uses any battery and can last for well over a week and a half.
Just bought my S62 last week... It's already my 3rd round.. why I couldn't see something prompting me what club I used everytime I smash inspite turning on the club prompt? No automatic recognition of clubs I used. I just manually input the club everytime thru "last shot".... I know virtual caddie will start after 5 rounds...
Following your review, I have bought the s62 and played once with it. I entered the club details with the shots but after play, it seems the club details have not been saved. What have I done wrong? Many thanks for your response. Great reviews though!
Make sure you turn on stat tracking. Others have said that out-of-the-box this option is not enabled. Once you do it should save all of your data. Let me know how it goes.
That's great, now working. Thanks but I believe also required proper syncing to garmin golf. What is the function of the 'tournament mode'? Is it required for routine use and should it be turned on?
I have looked at other UA-cam videos on the S62, and they showed slope distances, is this something that you have to pay extra for? Plus which watch do you like better the S62 or Voice Caddie t9? Thanks
@@LetsPlayThru thanks for letting me know about the slope on the Garmin, but if you had to pick between the Garmin and the Voice Caddie which would you prefer?
Just used mine today after buying it based on this review and love it ! Only issue was the course I was playing at only had 3 tees listed and the color I was hitting from wasn’t on the watch
after taking a shot and inputting the club u hit, can u set the watch so u don't have to put in the # of putts and the fairway drive and so on to save time? i rather not spend the time to put all that stuff in between holes. thanks
You don't have to keep track of stats if you don't want to, but from experience it's very quick and worthwhile for the data the app can tell you about your golf game and where it can be improved.
Great. Would u happen to know how I turn them off? I was so excited to try my s62 I bought a couple days ago and yesterday on the course, I couldn’t figure it out. After I got my distance on the first hole and took my firs shot, it stayed on the same distance screen and didn’t ask me to put my club in. I played the entire round with the screen that shows distances. I ended up using my the free app on my iPhone for the entire round like I did before I bought the s62. So disappointing. I’m hoping if I learn how to turn that other stuff off, that it was ask me for my club after I hit in my next round and I can start using my watch. I thought I was reasonably tech savvy, but I guess I’m not. BTW. The software is updated via my Mac in case u were wondering. Thank you so much for your help! Love to be able to play golf at your level some day..

Thats super cool. Sounds like you are getting the most out of the S62. Well done and hope you continue to enjoy
How do you go about editing shots after the round? I haven't figured that out yet.
Great job!
Carrollhood- nice. Haha
Hopefully it gives him a bigger itch to want to get out more
Thank you! Clear review just what I was just looking for.
Awesome, glad it helped
You answered one of my questions, but another I have is you take a 1/2 swing with a club and don't want it to keep that yardage how do you do that?
Thanks for taking the time to show that. S62 it is!
Excellent video. Wish all golf apps had videos demonstrating real world use. Great job!
Do you have to have sensors for the virtual caddy to work
Great Video! I was looking for a video on how this product works (practically) "on the course" - and this is it! Thanks!
Awesome, glad to help
Nice features, I love the color too! Mine was so old that it broke the other day, so I’ll definitely consider this one 👍
Excellent golf watch, you can’t beat Garmin. Thanks for the video, enjoy your golf.👍🏌️♂️
Thanks Joseph. Likewise
That's an awesome review video. Keep up the solid work my friend. Also, loving the hat!
LOVE, love, love my TubeBuddy. Thanks Rob!
Great Demo. Q: 1. Is there any practice range features? 2. What is the full charging time? 3. did the band get
There is a tempo feature but that’s it for practice.
I'm sure they'd love to get some love down under...wait, that sounds weird. hahaha
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show its what we do best...😂
Great review. I just got this watch and the review will help me on the course.
Awesome congrats!
You did a great job showing step-by-step (hole by hole) on how to use the watch. Thanks a lot! By the way, do you recommend the CT10?
My pleasure, thanks for checking it out 😀
ct10 could be a good addition but I think the watch on its own provides enough functionality for me
Great review, cant wait for mine to arrive today
Congrats on the purchase, you’re going to love it
Could you do a compare between the Garmin S62 and Voice Caddie T9? Your reviews capture the depth and hidden values others struggle with.
I def want to check that one out. I'll try to get my hands on one. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks, great video. Please make a second one once you've got the caddie feature working....

Great review! Much appreciated! Seems like I‘ll be investing in a new Golf watch!
Glad to help!
hey mate just an update about my s62 i updated the courses and it looks like it is ok now
Very good to hear! Thanks for the update Eddy
@@LetsPlayThru no worries and thanks for listening keep up the good job
i love this watch
Thanks for the review! It's always really windy where I play and I was wondering how accurately it gauges a strong wind in your face regarding club selection? Thanks
Hi Rich, the new s70 takes wind into account. That’s probably the best bet.
@@LetsPlayThru Cool! Thank you!
Great video. Quick question if you've gotten round to using the virtual caddy. How does it perform in recommending clubs in relation to wind? For example do you find it gets you to club up if the wind is into you, thats the one thing i cant seem to find anywhere.
To my knowledge, yes. The caddy should account for wind if you have wind enabled (which means you need the phone nearby).
Great video
Great video! Will it track distance if using a cart? What if I'm wondering around looking for the ball?
Yes it will
@@LetsPlayThru thank you! I can't tell you how helpful your video is!!
Syndi Ciancimino awesome happy to help 😃
@@LOHO8682 Thanks Lee
How comfortable is it to play in? I’m not really fond of watches when I’m playing but really like the features on it
Extremely - the rubber is super soft and it’s very light
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show thanks bud, great reviews just checked a few other videos out I’m now thinking Of a z82 😂
great review of a great watch , just got mine today, greetings from Ireland
Congrats, wear it in good health! 🍾
Great review mate and thanks for putting it together. Cheers from Sydney, Oz - Dave
Thanks Dave!
Great review. Just got my watch & cant wait to play and give it a try.
Awesome congrats!
Hi! Would you happen to know what to do if, after your swing, the watch asks you what club did you use, that you accidentally press the wrong club? Is there a way to correct what you played club you indicated? Thanks!
Do you need the CT10 sensors in order for it to track your shots and their positions?
Curious if most golf courses are programmed into the Garmin? I live right next to a 9 hole course that’s convenient to play
I think they claim to have about 40,000 loaded, yes. I haven’t come across one yet that wasn’t there
my one picks up the 3 mashies here in South Africa
I'm not judging at all, but cant be the only one noticing how you stand up in the middle of your swing :)
Hey Scott, yes you’re right. It’s a flaw. Been trying to work on it actually, but hard to erase 36 years of muscle memory, haha.
I’m looking into getting the S62 and I’m
wondering how well it does tracking where the approach shots land if your next shot is a putt.
Awesome happy to help. I use a DJI Osmo Action cam and the stabilizer is super incredible.
Nice video, that is exactly what I wanted to see about this watch. Thanks 😊
Awesome Eduardo, glad it helped
Would you recommend this over the G80 garmin? Great review as ever.
It just depends what you want honestly, both super solid and accurate. S62 has virtual caddie and shot tracking. G80 has launch monitor features.
@@LetsPlayThru much appreciated and fantastic channel
I really enjoyed watching this review. Very well done. I’m just about convinced to buy it. Thanks for creating it for us.
My pleasure Doug, thanks
if you don’t mind a follow-up question, I have an Apple phone/watch and have already purchased the Golfshot Plus app.
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show brilliant. Thank you. I’ll buy it
Great review - I'm currently rocking a S20, but this S62 does look like an interesting upgrade.
Yes it’s feature packed for sure
agreed
Great video! So this watch has fitness features also? I golf but I’m also a runner (currently training for a marathon). It would be awesome to have a watch that can do both. Any info/feedback on that would be greatly appreciated!
Yes it can track walks/runs and provide heart rate data.
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show Perfect! Thank you!
My pleasure, hope it helps
Good afternoon, my Garmin S 62 does not turn on, a triangle appears on the display. What to do?
Can you down load the distance for each club (avg) to a PC or app ?
Yes the Garmin app will store that data
I think if you manually entered the course it’s possible
You mention that you love high end watches. I was wondering why you haven't done a review of the Garmin Marq Golfer?
Great question, I have been desperately trying to. Apparently that one is only sold thru jewelry stores and boutiques. So my regular channels don’t have access to it unfortunately.
Hello! Once you play the 5 rounds to activate the Virtual Caddy, do I need to constantly upload the scorecards forever? i.e. I just started so I'm sure my yardage will get "better", but I don't want to do the scoring on my watch and phone after I activate it. Can I just use the club prompt feature to upgrade my yardages? Thanks again.
Thanks excellent review, just what I needed
Awesome happy to help
Do you find playing with a watch impacts or changes your swing?
Honestly I thought it would but in practice it really does not. Especially this one it’s so light and unobtrusive I forget it’s on my wrist most times.
I purchase the S62. I only play 9 holes because I am old. Since using the watch I have played about 10, 9 hole rounds. I still don't have the virtual caddy working, not sure if it will without playing 5, 18 hole rounds. My biggest concern is that after using the drive it doesn't show at the top, the distance I hit the driver. Do I have to have the virtual caddy working before it will show this? Any feedback will be appreciated.
Would this make a good daily wear watch?
The heart rate tracking feature must have come in handy and working overtime with all that heavy breathing from walking! Did any alerts/alarms activate?
Can I manually load average distances into the watch so I can use the caddie right out of the box? (I need instant help! ) Love your videos!
Not that I know of, no.
Thanks for the nice review. Could you please clarify if is possible to see the shot tempo after every shot in the S62? I understand there is a practice mode for tempo but having each shot tempo during a round will be extremely useful. Thanks so much !
This one does not do that. You would need the VoiceCaddie T9 for that feature.
Do you use the wind feature?
Can the S62 track a bike ride? Can it measure distance, speed and time using the Garmin Connect app?
Very very helpful, thank you for sharing 👍🙏😁
You mentioned wind numerous times. Curious why you didn't use the feature that factors in wind?
Just didn’t occur to me as the wind was higher up. On the 2nd hole I show that feature.
@@LetsPlayThru I just upgraded from S60 but haven't played with it yet. It was my understanding the feature will factor in the wind and show you adjusted yardage. I believe you just showed the ability to view wind speed and direction. I may be mistaken but that's what I got from the instructions.
very interested in this feature
would be the reason I would upgrade from my s60
Do I need to pay subscription for virtual caddie for approach s62 watch?
Great video, I have this watch which I love. When you put in your scores at the end of each hole it asks you what direction you hit the fairway. Mine doesn't do this, however when I link at my stats it shows if I have gone left, right or in the middle. Am I missing a setting on this? Thanks
Thanks. Yes you should be able to enable this.
Found these instructions you can try: www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-7681996C-530F-4C69-80C4-3CD20D82746C/EN-US/GUID-5A7361A6-1A15-4E4D-B82C-314A29983CA9.html
Damn, thats really cool. I don't even play golf but it looks super fun, it feels like a videogame lol.
Yes it kind of reminds me of my old MARIO watch
Do you have to have a c10 sensor on each club. Or keep swapping censor to clubs as you swing for caddy and suggestion club feature. Or watch knows from simply when you hit next ball and input
Next ball
I am curious about the club selection feature. Does it list all types of clubs, for example a 9 wood and 11 wood?
Wow those are some interesting clubs. Yes, the Garmin offers the ability to custom add clubs, so it should be no problem
So almost always they are sitting in the middle of every green
very good review/vlog, thank you. I place the order and tomorrow will receive it :)
Awesome, congrats and enjoy it
@@LetsPlayThru can't wait.
Great content, mate. Thanks for the review. I think the price point is really fair as well.
Thanks for checking it out Matthew
Great review.
Does the watch have metre measurements
Cheers
Yes it’s a very simple change from yards to meters in the settings
@@DanishBoy007 Yes, and after 5 rounds you'll unlock the virtual caddie. That's a game changer.
Absolutely, that needs to be done. I’ll try to work it in sooner than later
@@LetsPlayThru sounds good, can't wait👍😉
I have the S62 and think it’s great Barr one annoyance, often let’s say a par 4 I’m on the green for 3 then 2 putt and when I go to enter the putts it will only allow 1 putt ? Has anyone had this or can advise if it’s a fault or a setting ?
Cheers mate. Does this also track your activity, meaning like it would if you selected a hike, walk or run whilst using the watch for the golf features? (So you can see things like the map, distance walked, etc)
It def tracks steps and runs, yes
@@LetsPlayThru thanks. I mean will it track your "walk" or "golf" activity while your golfing and using the golf/shot features at the same time?
Yes although I don’t think it will necessarily map it. But will include it in the day’s totals
Oh man sorry to hear that. No mine worked right away. Hope you play better next time :)
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show my guess was a syncing issue, because when I downloaded connectIQ, it said not connected, then after downloading connect, it connected on all 3 apps. would be nice if I could use my garmin glo gps thing I use for aviation.
Lets Play Thru Golf Travel Show great video too! Very informative!
Thanks very much 🙏
Got it to work as soon as I got to the course. All it took was downloading connect and connectIQ
What does the app look like? does it show you the shots on the course app? how does the data look?
Yes you get a nice visual representation of every hole. App is very user-friendly
What an awesome video! Thanks!
Hi, i bought one of these recently, do you know why the watch doesnt display the hole view once connected to the first tee ? All I'm seeing is the 3 distances ? Thanks
To be honest I’m not 100% sure but I’ve got to imagine it’s just a setting. Have you gone through the menus?
How long does the battery last?
Gerry Scott I played a full round with it yesterday. I started with 97% and ended with 75%. Basically it’s really good. Easily two rounds and probably more. When you’re not playing golf it hardly uses any battery and can last for well over a week and a half.
Just bought my S62 last week... It's already my 3rd round.. why I couldn't see something prompting me what club I used everytime I smash inspite turning on the club prompt? No automatic recognition of clubs I used. I just manually input the club everytime thru "last shot".... I know virtual caddie will start after 5 rounds...
you have to make sure that stat tracking is turned on in settings
Following your review, I have bought the s62 and played once with it. I entered the club details with the shots but after play, it seems the club details have not been saved. What have I done wrong? Many thanks for your response. Great reviews though!
Make sure you turn on stat tracking. Others have said that out-of-the-box this option is not enabled. Once you do it should save all of your data. Let me know how it goes.
That's great, now working. Thanks but I believe also required proper syncing to garmin golf. What is the function of the 'tournament mode'? Is it required for routine use and should it be turned on?
@@ikeokorocha9797 tournament mode simply removes some features like adjusting for slope and wind. Best to leave it on unless you’re going on Tour. ;)
@@LetsPlayThru Many thanks!

Congrats, you made a great choice
I have looked at other UA-cam videos on the S62, and they showed slope distances, is this something that you have to pay extra for? Plus which watch do you like better the S62 or Voice Caddie t9? Thanks
Yes, it does have slope. It's included out of the box.
If you reach out to Garmin and they should be able to update that. Great to hear you enjoyed it though
after taking a shot and inputting the club u hit, can u set the watch so u don't have to put in the # of putts and the fairway drive and so on to save time? i rather not spend the time to put all that stuff in between holes.
Ive seen you review the S42 and locating the satellites took no time! How does this watch compare in time?
S62 is slightly longer. It’s a year older than the S 42 actually so I think that might play a role. But to be honest it’s not ridiculously long. Totally acceptable
@@LetsPlayThru Awesome thank you! Right now at a local shop the S62 is just $30 more than the S42 so thats why im curious. Im most likely going for the S62 :)
