You are absolutely right, and that's the reason why I left the Philippines to go back "home". And it was unfortunately proven to be the right decision !
Good channel, it would be good to see a half hour video with sebastain and his mates sitting around a barbie telling stories about places of the Philippines.
HI! Sebastian. Your video "No Country For US Old Men" is very enlightening, I'm an old guy as my Philippine wife of 25yrs tells me from time to time. We are both retired here in Canada and as she points out to me, at our age retiring in the Phil is "NOT" a good idea! So after viewing your video I would say, she is already looking after my health. Thanks Sebastian for your Info. 🤕👍
My wife and myself have visited the Phil a number of times over the years, visiting relatives, handing out money & taking them places, that's the way it is there & that's O/K to a point. However my wife does not recommend we move & retire in the Philippines, because of the very expensive medical situation. 🤕 @@heartsebastian15
Many westerners believe they will be living like kings in the third world with their fat retirement funds, the one thing most don’t realize you are leaving your own culture for one that doesn’t resonate with one you have had all your life, that alone can have a massive effect on your mental and physical health! Thanks for posting this!
If you’re lucky, you’ll find a family, which will take care of you when you get old and no longer able. Others will dump you when they can no longer milk you
40 Like Subscribe done, love this video you share the dark side that no one want to talk about. Bring out the negative is a good thing so others can think about this twice before they move there. This what I always what about the health care insurance living oversea. Greeting from USA.
Thanks 👍 mate it is a big decision I know some guys want to die here and never return to their country I understand that how ever it's being I'll for a long time that is the problem here thanks for watching mate cheers
Hi Sebastian I met you briefly yesterday morning when I stopped the car near hypermart I'd like to meet you for coffee somewhere soon if you are interested.
Hey Sebastian, this would be one of your best vids to date sending an overall important message concerning ex-pats taking care of their health and each other, Cheers Mate.
The drama can be prevented. After 21 years in SE Asia I’ve seen every Shakespearian form of insanity play out in my extended circles of acquaintances. It’s good to have a network of expats, but only those who are equally prepared for any emergency way, way in advance. Exercise every morning, don’t drink, don’t drive (even sober!), have good insurance, and cook at home (don’t eat junk) as much as possible. Nobody lives like a king here - just the thought is completely delusional. Nothing is more real than the Philippines on a really bad day - be prepared because it will definitely happen.
“No country for old men” alright but the reason Westerners are moving to SE Asia is their homelands have become just that. Definitely need a medical plan including the all important carer.
If u go to the Philippines in the hospital just make sure you bring some rubbing alcohol just incase they give u a used pillow that might give u scabies or wart cuz alcohol kills bugs and also reduces the size of warts from the pillow also another country that gots same problem is Mexico hollla y’all spread the word to peeps about contamination in hospitals in countries and share it with everyone 👌
I'm debating if i want to get a motorbike when i get there .I've seen too many expats have accidents there and juells is in the hospital from a bike wreck. Let us know what kind of health insurance you get i also need to look into that.
Drive a moped like its a bicycle - keep it slow and stay to the side. Also, often the insurance rarely pays out for bike accidents (often due to proof of accident in poorer countries and sometimes due to license issues)
I live in Thailand and barely use my motorbike since I have a car. I realized I'm not really a guy who rides motorcycles just for fun and my car is safer
I don’t want to sound cynical but if you come here in the Philippines and you’re around close to say 70 ‘with health problems’ my advice is to forget it. This goes against the advice of the majority of vloggers who have retired in the Philippines. The reason I say this is partly due to Sebastian’s advice and his own personal experience at a pub resulting in damaging his arm to the point that he could not pay his own surgical bills and relying on the generosity of someone to bail him out. That doesn’t always happen. But mainly because you really need to have money to be able to pay not only insurance but upfront cash payments to hospitals as Sebastian has stated. As to hospitals I think if you’re from Australia or the UK you can’t beat having Medicare or the National Insurance Scheme. Thinking that a heart attack, stroke, motorbike accident, etc won’t happen to you eventually fails. I think you’re better off seeing the Philippines as a tourist spot instead. Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know anybody selling a portapotty in the Philippines, I am tryna buy one for my boy who is homeless that lives in a box in back of Taco Bell in Manila ,, let me y’all I could pay in pesos as welll god bless😩
PH is not the ideal country for foreigners to settle Foreigners in PH can't even own small portions of lands & have very limited rights they should consider South America European settlers there got rich & were poor farmers & factory workers in Europe PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only
The only thing other than car that I would consider there is one of those Bajaj tricycles, without quality road side medical service why engage in a high risk activity, in the tricycles you also run under a roof.
Appreciate your honesty…much needed amongst the Philippine vloggers
Appreciate your time in watching cheers

People go to foreign countries and do things they never do in their country, like riding a scooter.
Yes True mate but stay safe cheers
10 years in Asia the amount of foreigners that die on the roads in motorbike accidents is disturbing some really tragic accidents that I know of!
