I’ve stepped into the phase when I would watch his videos not for the recipes but pure enjoyment of his personality. Anyone else the same?
Yup
I have to have at least some interest in the topic, but yeah, personality is definitely a factor.
Good
His voice is calming
aye!
I may be pretty confident as a home cook, but I love the way you present all of these concepts and methods in a "newbie" approach for those without the confidence in the kitchen. That encourages really enables folks to try cooking or baking that one time and, hopefully, they get hooked.
My pizza finally came out delicious! This was my 2nd attempt at trying this recipe. There were many learning curves along the way. Here's a neat trick I learned. If you don't have a warming drawer or your oven cannot lower to 120 degrees, you can fill your sink with warm water, place the bowl with the dough and the lid on in the water, and cover the sink with saran wrap. This worked wonderfully when I needed my dough to rise. Also, with waking up the yeast, it took approximately 10-30min.
I really appreciate the video. Now I can add this to my cooking arsenal.
Thank you for sharing!
no you do really dont need to do that.
just let the dough be on the counter with something to cover it.
There is no need for all that warmth
@ardalain maybe they live in a cold climate? It takes me a lot longer to raise dough in the winter.
I’m only 8 years old almost nine and I love baking with my mom. This is the first baking recipe from preppy kitchen that I did with my mom it turned out perfect. I recommend stuffing the crust the mozzarella cheese mine turned out perfectly it was delicous
Heck yeah man your mom is amazing for teaching you how to bake
Nice that you like to cook at a young age, I think it will really help you in the future
Your mom is awesome! Keep baking little man!
When I was 8 I went outside and ate dirt

Made pizza for the first time ever and used this recipe. I have to say, it was easier than i thought. I used my hands to knead and mix everything. Turned out PERFECT! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Question-- is there a way to store the bread? Should that be done before or after proofing? Can I pre-make the dough (where it's flat and ready for toppings) and store it?
How would I go about that? How long would it stay for?
Thanks so, so much!!
You said "go for 100 degrees" and let me tell you, my Celsius brain did not understand at first how you could put your finger in it

Totally agree with you. John’s personality is so endearing.

It’s the reason we all like him so much
He does not have kids
Foolproof recipe! 🤩I only have a Hamilton beach hand mixer so I used one spiral attachment and then mixed by hand to get the ball shaped.
I have the Pyrex mixing bowls with lids so I couldn’t put them in the oven…so I filled the biggest bowl with hot water and set the bowl with the dough in it. The dough rose perfectly!
I’m made this for the first time and did extremely well! My husband loved it !!!
Used this dough recipe today. It came out amazing. I was actually able to make two 8 slice pizzas thin crust pizzas by dividing the dough in half. So good!!
I’ve tried dozens of recipes for cake, cheesecake, pizza, etc. and all the best recipes come from Preppy. His step by step has resulted in perfect results for me so far.
Have you tried natashas kitchen recipe for pizza dough? I’ve tried this one and it was good but I also wanna try hers to see which ones best.
@@viridiana3013 hmmm. I haven’t, but I think I will. She uses honey in her recipe. The kids love this one tho, and any changes to the status quo will result in me eating entire pizzas by myself.
@@viridiana3013 have u tried preppy’s dough? which one’s did you like more ?
@@diwinchester7965 I haven’t tried natashas but the one I’ve been using is Preppy’s. I just change some things about how he does it but the ingredients are all the same. He puts the flour mixture all at once but I do it little by little while the mixer is on. I also try not to put any extra flour because I don’t want a hard crust. (It’s ok for the dough to be sticky) Once the dough is done I cover it with plastic wrap and leave it to rest at least 4 hours room temp. then leave it in the fridge overnight. The next day I take it out at least 2 hours before making my pizzas. Then i preheat my oven to 550 (or the highest your oven will go to). Now first I just bake the crust without any sauce or toppings because for some reason if I don’t then it comes out raw and I don’t like that. Something I did last time was change my oven setting to broil so the crust can brown. Make sure to keep an eye on it because that happens very quickly (like 1 minute) That is all I change but I’m still experimenting with other changes to make because I want to have the best pizza recipe.
I’ve been also looking at Vito Iaocopelli’s pizza dough recipes because he is a pro. I might try his polish recipe but for now preppy’s is what I’m used to.
We followed this recipe for family pizza night and it came out perfect! Thank you for making the process so easy to follow! I would just add that we don’t have granulated sugar so we used brown sugar and it was totally fine, in case that helps anyone.
Thank you so much!
I made this today and its the best homemade pizza i've ever had

Thank you! This was perfect! Had a lot of sick family members so we did a nice relaxing Christmas day at home this year. With limited groceries at home... I remembered we had yeast!! So, I googled.. found you... and we made individual pizzas for Christmas!

But my yeast solution is not forming bubbles. I have been waiting since half an hour😢😢
@@shazia8840 it doesn't have to be completely bubbly at the top of the mixture, as for me it was just a few bubbles and worked in rising the dough
Grandson and I doubled your pizza dough recipe. Such a soft wonderful dough to knead. Let rise for an hour. Put it in a large cookie sheet, and loaded it with lots of fresh veges, pepperoni and cheese. Baked 350 for about 45 minutes. Delicious! Crispy on the bottom and good bread texture in the middle. Family loved it! Thanks! We really enjoy your channel!

Hello John, yes I have been looking for the perfect Pizza Dough. Never found it until now! Just made it for lunch and was a huge success. As you say Pizza anytime, haha. Thank you for sharing this and all your other lovely recipes. You are a pleasure to watch and learn from. Thank you again. Kym, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Every recipe of you I tried so far worked perfectly. Normally making bread and pizza dough is my absolute nemesis but this time it actually turned out beautiful. THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH. You saved me from a lot of frustration.
I'm so happy that I found your channel. EVERY single recipe is superb 👌. I decided to take your suggestion and add herbs and seasonings (onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, basil and oregano) I'm never buying pizza from a shop again. My goodness it's so good 👍🏻 😩
Followed this recipe and made the best pizza I’ve ever had. Topped it with my dads tandoori chicken that I chopped up, some diced red onions and diced jalapeño. I added 1/8 tsp onion powder, 1/8 tsp onion powder to the flour. I also added 1/4 tsp of a mixture of dried Italian seasoning. I didn’t have pizza sauce so I used pasta sauce from a jar. I also made the dough by hand, all in one large stainless steel bowl as I don’t own a stand mixer. I kneaded the dough in the bowl as well. I split the dough to make two small pizzas
My kids love pizza and it gets really expensive . Because of pandemic I’ve learned how to cook. Today I just made my first ever pizza. Everyone loves it . I can’t thank you enough.
Well done👍

is this guy nuts adding 7 grams or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of yeast into 2 cups of flour. That will make the dough smell like beer. Most recipes call for 1/2 a teaspoon of yeast to 4 cups of flour. I though I added a lot by using 1 teaspoon to 4 cups of 00 (double zero) flour.
