There's no selection in the timeline when I choose a sentence in the text window. I tried extracting and ALT-deleting the text (from the contextual menu) but nothing happened. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated (by the way I watched all the 68 videos in the plalylist entitled "Adobe Premiere Advanced Tutorials" Thanks for all what you're doing for the community of editors).
We just started using this tool last week. Many of our videos have a lot of dialogue. Had no clue we were able to edit from the text and cut pauses. Great video!
dang stoked to start using this. honestly i hve shot a lotta content but always this part of it makes me go nah i do this for work i dont wanna do it for fun. WOW THANK YOU!
This sounded like such a useless feature to me, until I started getting hired for projects where it's brilliant. lol I'm glad other editors are pushing for things I didn't even know I needed.
Unfortunately the Beta keeps closing on itself when trying to import my second camera's videos so I didn't want to risk proceeding with a work project. But cannot wait for this to be officially released!
I saw this auto transcription feature a while ago, I had a feeling it would have many game changing use cases! The pauses feature is neat, I did not think of using it like this! Hopefully there will be a way to automatically remove pauses longer than a certain length.
there is an option in the "..." overflow menu to set the minimum pause duration. That should allow you to e.g. only see pauses of the length or longer you want to edit out
Quick question, if you have multiple audio tracks and your VO is on track 2 (A2) do you know how to make it transcribe? I think it only transcribes track 1, I have tried several alternatives and nothing worked. At the same time, the static transcript works perfectly for track 2.
This works great for selecting footage that contains speech. But is there already a tool in which the AI can select footage by screening what's happening in frame? For example prompt it to select all footage that is in focus or select footage that has faces in them. That would truly be a time saver.
If you ever used Avid Script Sync this will sound familiar, a more advanced version allowing to move stuff around on timeline. Scrip sync has been around for years.
How do you have so much energy when speaking to camera? Do you have psychological tricks? I just started doing educational videos for my company and have a hard time keeping the audience from hanging themselves.
When I select text for an edit, how do I see the length of the video I'm selecting? I edit for time a lot of merely selecting text doesn't help me know how long a clip or section I'm selecting.
I am using this on a pretty big project involving interviews with about 30 people. I created a new timeline and dragged clips from various interviews onto that new timeline. The text transcripts went with the clips, but the names of the speakers didn't. (Sad face) And on the new timeline, speaker names are not editable. (Sadder face) And on the new timeline, with various clips on it from various speakers, you cannot initiate a new transcription to start fresh with just those clips. (Sad, confused face.) What's the best practice, then, for combining clips from various interviews to create a nice tight production? (wondering, hopeful face)
You can edit the speaker names if you e.g. open the clips in the source monitor. This is because speakers are not identified across clips - so you would else end up with a list of "speaker 1" / "speaker 2" were the order would decide the name and not the content.
This will be one of the biggest changes to editing flow in years, especially for solo content creators. Amazing!
I 100% agree 😁 nice to see some innovation happening for sure!

have you found a solution?
I don't know why, but I just can't cut. I've hit backspace, delete, ( ; ). And if I delete on the timeline, the text doesn't update
This is amazing. The search function alone is ridiculously awesome. Your tutorials are phenomenal!
Wow! Thanks so much! 😄 So glad you think so!
Adobe Sensei is making a lot of great things!
Couldn't agree more!
Love it! Does this basically replace Descript? I was looking at Descript but have PP.
Yeah essentially 😁 SUPER handy to have that in app now
Btw, Jordy deserves a raise for making a lot of great helpful content! Appreciate you brother.
I appreciate that! 😄🙏So kind of you to say! I'll share this comment with everyone else 😂🙏
I used an addon called transcriptive to do this, glad to know it will be standard within premiere now!
Damn!! Only three comments and such awesome content 🔥
Thanks so much 😁 so glad you liked it!

Discovering new (much needed) hacks is the best!

Thanks for the solid video! Using this to edit my gameplay videos right nowwww

Oh no! Hang in there 🥲
This is insane. I think it just saved me an hour.
Nice! Agreed, it's super useful!
Game changer 🤟🏻
Thanks 🙏🏻😁

will this work with just an audio file minus any video file? Great tutorial!
weird. I downloaded the beta version and the option to cut is greyed out.
Still unavailable?
In the “unknown” column on the left, can you designate speakers and have premiere analyze the voice to see who’s talking?
Correct! You can do both of those things and Premiere is very good at distinguishing speakers as long as there is not a lot of competing noise 😁
How do you have so much energy when speaking to camera? Do you have psychological tricks? I just started doing educational videos for my company and have a hard time keeping the audience from hanging themselves.
Gotta give it your all man
How do you do the text animations in the beginning of the video?
is it me or did the editor forgot to color grade the video?
Yup! Was thinking the same
I actually did 😁 but you’re not the only one to mention that so perhaps I didn’t keep it as consistent with the rest of our videos 💁🏼♂️
Will this be available in other languages as well? Danish, for instance?
Hi Peter! There's a bunch of different languages that work with this but I am unsure if Danish is one of them
Can we delete all of the pauses at once or do we have to click each one to delete?
informative 5mins.
Glad you thought so 😁🙏🏻

I really want this...but for Davinci Resolve
Yeah, man that would be an awesome feature for them to add 😄
What if you dont script and record on the fly. Can this be used? Or does it need a transcript to feed from?
Why you don't color grad your video ?
I actually did 😁 but you’re not the only one to mention that so perhaps I didn’t keep it as consistent with the rest of our videos 💁🏼♂️
you guys don't colour grade your videos? the footage is still in log
do you have book promotion video template for fcpx?
will this be the equivalent of Descript, and when (realistically) will this be released?
it is released now
Correct, it's integrated into the normal version of Pr now 😁 and hopefully it just gets better and better over time.

Great point @Lightly303, looking back that would have been good for me to include to show how to do 😁
אדייייר!!!! תודה! עובד גם בעברית? (-:
😄 Thanks! But sadly I don't think it works in Hebrew 😢 sorry to say. Hopefully it will in the future soon!
Is it true that motion array has challenges (like capture the flag in hacking)?
We have those from time to time, yes 🙂
Did you forget to colour grade this?
Great tutorial otherwise though
Actually it was graded, but you’re not the only person to comment this so I guess we didn’t do as good a job as normal 😂
So glad you liked the tutorial! 😁🙏🏻
AVID Newscutter had this many years ago. Their patent probably expired.
Oh interesting...perhaps 😁
lol this guy is the personification of amphetamines... great video tho and this feature is helpful
Haha 😂 Glad you liked it! Off to drink my 3rd espresso now 😄☕
If this video is anything to go by, Premiere's grading is still unusable though
Yup, grade layer was disabled before export and I missed it 😂whoops
edit the pinned comment it released LOL
Yay another feature that will be underwhelming at launch.
Haha, glad you're excited 😂
