Thank for this guide. My dad passed away recently and I've had to take over a lot of the maintenance for the yard and pool. This was on his to-do list. We have a Pentair FNS Plus so everything looked exactly like this. The one thing I ran into was an abundance of silt and dirt at the bottom of the filter that weighed down everything. I didn't want to risk breaking any of the grids, so I took them out one by one. I removed most of it before removing the plastic drain cap at the bottom which uses a 7/8 wrench to work open. I tried using a crescent originally but noticed it starting to warp the edges; bad decision on my part. My dad would be givin' me a hard time right now. Haha. Thank again! :)
I made up a cleaner from 1/2"CPVC (tan colored) plastic pipe. It is 36" long, you can make it any length for your filter. I cap one end and drill a1/16" or 5/64" holes, 6 is enough. On the other end I have a garden hose adapter glued on and use a shut off valve, then the garden hose. This way you can stick the pipe cleaner down between all the grids, shut off water so you don't get wet & go on to the next grid. It does an excellent job of cleaning. All parts can be purchased at either HD or Loz
Agreed I tried doing it myself once.... after about two hours of fighting with the panels i called my pool company they came out and did it for me in about 20 minutes :)
My wife and i watch the video . Had a hard time removing the drain plug.. we got it removed got everything put together but now there's a leak in the drain plug , tighten it up, still leaking. small leak around the band other than that we were able to do it now trying to stop the small leaks.
Nine grids?must be a custom Pentair FNS-has 7 full size and 1 partial also where is your template?Seems like a rookie with a camera replace standpipe o ring every time also didn’t check manifold for cracks or damage
Filter aid it's what. Actually filters the water Use just what's needed read your filter see how many square feet or panels you have. To add dE botón of. dE cups tell you how much @ 9 pounds for 60 square feet it's all on you

Thanks again, I used this video as my guide for washing my DE filter today.
If one or two of the grids have tears/rips, do you have to replace the entire thing, or can grids be purchased individually?
Very nicely detailed video, thank you!
Thank you. This video was very helpful :)
Thank you for video, I'm just happy I have a sand filter and not a DE filter Phew !
putting the grid back on this shit never ever gets easier, i always struggle to finally put it all back together, god its so annoying.

Make sure the threads and seal are totally clean. Give a good water rinse. If still leaking, replace the O-ring. Same procedure with the band.
Good video! Thanks!
What happens if u put your filters in wrong ?
You did not open the bottom cap
