Such a bike makes so much sense. I've tried all of the fast sportbikes and it's fun and all of that, but on the streets it just doesn't make much sense really. This big beefcake of a bike can still go more than hard enough, and because it's more physical it is more fun. In more legal speeds it's more fun when you actually got to put more into it, and wider bars will of course help to whip it around. My only minor gripe is that the front indicators look really dorky lol, like what the... Hopefully something aftermarket will be available together with a tailtidy to sort out both ends. Anyhow, the bike is all in all a proper hooligan bike and I love that.
I like the new front a lot more than I expected but apart from that it looks more like a minor change and the new electronics looks sweet too but I think for now I'll stay with my old potato 1290 RR :)

Could be a worthy upgrade from my Gen 2. BUT, a big deterrent for me is that you have to pay KTM a lot of extra cash to "unlock" many of the features you've referred to, such as the qs and track settings.
Paying to unlock option settings that are already installed !? 😳 They’ll never ever see the color of my money ! Will buy a reliable Japanese bike instead such as a Zh2 !

@@velmamalleis9629 I would say the 1290 pretty smooth, and the power is better off the line which is where I spend more of my riding time, I really don’t care at this point I’d a bike makes 170 or 210 hp I’m more concerned with the torque and when the peak kicks in.
Shift cams make a difference on any bike...it's not like the 1290 was lacking, probably a way of adding power and still meet Euro whatever emissions. Looking forward to a test 👍

Took me years to master it on my ZX12R with 0 electronic and no « breaking abs » 😅 and now the electronic will do it for you ? Youngsters won’t even know how to handle a bike properly without a computer linked into it 😅
Except headlights I liked everything about this bike. I mean who provides such adjustments like wheelie control, engine control etc. It's like perfect masterpiece for intermediate like me; People like me who are still scared of doing wheelies😂
I like the video and coverage of what has changed, nicely done. I don’t like the new headlight and the changes still are not enough to get me out of my 2015 SDR. I’d rather buy a 2023 SDR Evo over the new 1390.
Trust me, this video was more about whats new and riding review will come next year. But what I felt already this year is a huge difference to GEN3 how it feels when riding ;)

It's interesting to see how these companies approach different designs over the years. I used to really dislike the KTM bike designs, but this one looks amazing. On other hand, the Honda's CB650R designs were great between 2019 - 2023 ( got one myself ), but I feel their 2024 design is a huge step back.
I like the flat orange finish it really looks good with the more flared bodywork I’m definitely getting drawn towards one for this summer , the local dealers got a demo available from march so will be going out for a blast on one

Initially a big no from me (originally a 990 SD owner and now a gen 3 1290 owner), but it has massively grown on me and now I want it bad hahaha. However, I only bought my Gen 3 a year ago so no way am I going to buy this as I'll lose too much money on the sale. Maybe in the future I will upgrade to a newer version in say 6/10 years time. Maybe it'll be a Gen 5 or 6 in that time frame.
I definitely like it, but the light design is still iffy for me just because it looks like it's missing something, and it doesn't look as aggressive as the previous generation.
I Love just about everything on this bike! I don't care too much for the headlight. Looks like a copy of MT-09 headlight with a KTM headlight outline. I read where someone said it looks bashed in. Of course do not like KTM bloodsucking of charging extrea for software code...Overall they did a great job on this bike!
Rok : Can you describe how are the vibrations of the engine at low revs ? How much they are ? Is the bike shaky like the old one was at low revs ? Give me the more details you can mate please 👍
From side, its look so sick, maybe we can improve more amd put more effort on the headlamp, i understand theres some very thin line between ugly and beauty when playing with projector type like headlamp.. overall the design are splendid
