EDIT- AFTER THE UPDATE TODAY, THIS METHOD IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKS: 1- Encounter whatever you want to farm (including vouchers in the shop) 2- Catch it and select any item in shop (ideally rare candy to gradually increase candies on another mon at the same time) 3- F5 after wave changes 4- Load another save file, save and quit 5- Load farming save file and repeat This method also progresses eggs you already have so it doesn't matter how many you have. @@AmadeusSmurf I'm doing this right now with 3 different save files so it has not been patched. If I had to guess, you're probably not doing step 4 correctly. You have to actually click save and quit on a different save, not F5. Hope this helps.

So after trying this a few things I’ve noticed and wanted to share: 1) The eggs you get actually progress while farming candies. Meaning, even if you don’t progress a wave, just capturing the mon will count as a “floor” toward hatching all your current eggs. So in theory, you can use the x5 and higher vouchers, you’ll just have a higher chance of capping sooner still. 2) The eggs you do hatch seem to be a predetermined species based on the wave you’re on. So you’re inadvertently farming candies for other mons too, you just won’t know which ones until the eggs of each tier hatch. Haven’t hatched a shiny yet, but everything besides species seems to be random so I’d imagine that would be as well. Sorry for wall of text. TL;DR: Eggs from the same wave are always the same mons, and you can hatch while farming.

IMPORTANT to note that this works for unlocking new forms/abilities/genders etc. Catch, pull, reload, and you'll have the IVs, form, gender, ability, everything without actually wasting any balls on them
That is not the case. The encounter and with that the ivs, ability and gender is fixed the moment you first enter it. Reloading gives you the exact same values as before. Still, if you farm enough lucky eggs, you can pull eggs for the Pokémon, which will then get you new ivs etc.
Note: The eggs will hatch ONLY ONE OF THE SAME POKEMON The egg moves and shiny states are equal between every egg But things like ivs natures gender and ability are different between each hatch If you use a 5x egg voucher and get 5 common eggs you will get 5 different pokemon each hatch Also with each hatch you get candies for that pokemon (Thats how I got scatterbug passive and hidden ability)

You can also do this on stages without a shop like boss stages. Catch the mon normally and when prompted if you want to add it to your party, select no and if you press “esc” within a few frames you can do this same trick before it moves you to the next stage.

Basically, when the game asks you if you want to add the Pokemon you just caught to your party, press no and then IMMEDIATELY after (like a few fractions of a second) press the esc key. I found something even better, If an egg hatches in the turn doing this, it will re-hatch and give candies ontop of the candies from previous hatch. An egg i bought hatched when doing this but didnt repeat, but another pokemon is getting hatched again and again when using this method and its candies keep going up by 2. there's something that can be done with this.
I knew this trick a long time ago, but now I need to take advantage of this as much as possible just in case the devs would patch this on a future update now that is public.
Why can't you already have eggs? I tried it and it worked...I'm pretty sure I already had eggs...I think I tried it on multiple mons shortly after each other and the candy's went up for both I think
I advise that because if you happen to have a full box of eggs, or close to full, you wont be able to use the voucher to do the trick, or you'll only be able to do it a few times before hitting the egg cap.
You definitely can do it with eggs, just to confirm - caught about 10 red shiny Excadrill with this yday without hatching each egg in between, though I see OP's point.
I like how you package this as a trick, while its just a full blown exploit. I have also not heard the devs talk about this wether its allowed or not, however I am pretty sure this is unintended behavior. Knew about this for 2 months but I am not going to popularize or use exploits myself. To each their own. I agree that there should be a better way to deterministically farm candy, but this is not the way if you ask me.
Yeah, having a better way for farm candies that isn't an exploit would be nice because trying to farm specific legendary eggs and candles is a long process.

I got a Verizon encounter on my classic run and im fairly new to the game got super lucky with a timid torch song heatran and i said why not try this and it actually worked thanks im gonna farm the candies and just start a new run since i had few vouchers
No because this still feels rewarding bec it’s a grind to get the candies still and hatch all the eggs, and there’s still the collection aspect of the game
You dont need to go into the shop. Simply Encounter -> F5 -> Load a different run so it opens when you click "Continue" in the main menu -> Load original Run -> Catch -> F5 and repeat. Your list doesn’t necessarily need to be clear, he just recommended keeping it clear because of your egg list fills up you won’t be able to reset for candies until you hatch the eggs already there.
can this trick still be done if the shiny mon is a boss on a tenth level? no shop those rounds just heals and onto the next? im afraid i wasnt paying attention to my round and missed out on farming shiny latias

long story short you have to hit the B and the menu almost at same time to get the menu to pop up. this will happen tight after you catch and you get the three options : summary yes no. then hit B and menu as fast as you can
Not true, just get every starter in the starter dex and go to classic mode to catch it. It'll be unlocked after that. You can never get it through egg gatcha, only candies.

You can once you have them unlocked as starters. You need to hatch them to get them the first time
