Thanks, man - this fixed my wife's FitBit Charge 3, and it was the changing of the clock face that did it. As a bonus, she liked the new clock face I selected, so it was a win-win! Thanks for this tip, really appreciated!
You're a life saver! Fitbit support couldn't even help me. But after multiple tries of holding the button for approx 15 seconds I got the smiley face. 😄
Awesome! It finally worked. I’ve had problems ever since the original purchase from Fitbit regarding my charge 3. Within 30 days it died and no type of rebooting worked even with the help of tech support from Fitbit themselves. They immediately replaced it but every 5 months or so it goes dark. A forced reboot has always worked in the past until now. After your video of changing the clock face it was still dark but the app recognized the new clock face. Once that step was complete the full forced reboot worked and we are back in business. I have owned this same Fitbit for 22 months now.
WOW, held it for exactly 20sec. and the smiley face came up... so did mine. Thanks so much !!! 😊
Same here with charge 3. Get smiley face after reboot, but goes back to black screen. Phone lost connection to watch so can’t try the clock fix. Device is 1.5 year old so they said no replacement, but give you a discount. Bought an Apple Watch instead. Horrible CS for a product that lasts just over a year with no way to recover from a software glitch. They need a class action lawsuit.
I don't seem to be alone with this problem 😊
I wish I knew before I wasted money.
Completely agree
Same with me they just want to give me 30% discount which I don’t think I’ll buy it again😔
My thoughts exactly...same with my charge3...was hoping this would fix issues. The face began fading a week ago and now can’t see anything. When I try the second method, and while holding in the button, it vibrates 6-15 times, but still no good results. Good to know I’m not the only one with this issue.
I have had nothing but problems with my Fitbit 3. Has to be a nomination for Rubbish Product 2020!
No more Fitbits for me
Totally agree. Mines 16 months old so out of warranty. Had to do this multiple times, then screen went fuzzy just a few weeks after the 12 month warranty expired, then just stopped working completely, ie no vibrating no charging no nothing about a month ago. A piece of crap.
@@69skobie43 my charge 3 shuts off ass well, no more fitbit
Agreed!
Same here!!!! No more Fitbit for me. Had lots of problems. At first, it didn’t connect, then it didn’t sync. Fitbit gave me a new device, but after a couple of months, the screen got crazy dim and I can’t see anything even INDOORS!
FIXED by changing the clock face! Thanks sooo sooooo much! I just got the Inspire HR 2 days ago. Bonus…the new face is better anyway! 👏❤️
What helped for me: push side button once, swipe many times to the left (4 times for me, you can barely see anything on screen but should be settings), tap on top half of screen (settings), tap on top half of screen (brightness toggle). This should change the brightness from 'off?' to 'normal' to 'auto'. Auto seems the be the only usable setting for me.
This was fantastic! Fixed my problem with changing the clock face! Thanks a million!!!
Tried both methods which did follow the pattern described on the video BUT the screen is still black. It still syncs with the phone app but I just cannot see the screen.
So how did you finally got it working ?
I had the same issue. Apparently I accidentely activated the 'sleep mode'. So how to fix it:
1. Go to a shadowy or dark place.
2. Press the side button. Now you should see the low lit screen.
3. Hold the sidebutton for 2 seconds. Now you schould see the sleep menue.
4. If the moon icon is lit, you can't up the brightness, so just tap on the moon to disable sleepmode.
5. Scroll down to the lightbulb icon. "Display active"
6. Now press on the icon and it should work just fine again.
@@Dexplodeerthis worked! The brightness is so low that my eyes had to adjust for 5 minutes to **barely** see the screen
To everyone reading this, I just found that my Fitbit was working but still couldn't get the display to go full brightness. I spent 3 hours fidgeting with this watch but it didn't work in the end.
@@HardestShardi have the same issue. I disabled the sleep Mode and turned on Display Active, still no movement in brightness. Have you found an solution?
Thanks so much for your helpful advice! When I finally got a dim screen, I was able to go into settings and adjust the brightness to normal. I now have my fitbit working again!
Where was that for brightness
Found it. Somehow got turned down
Glad to hear you found the setting for brightness. For anyone else wondering, it's 4 swipes horizontally. Settings is at the top of the screen. Tap it and 3 options for brightness will appear.
Thank you so much!!!
I just put it on the charger and after a few seconds, it gave me a happy face😁
Thanks for that , my Fitbit 4 worked using your second method 👍
Thank you!!!! Followed your instructions for restart; it's back!! Yay!! Thanks again, you rock!!
Thank you! Changing clock face on Fitbit Inspire works!
The reset did the trick. In EXCACTLy as many tries and seconds as in the video. :) Thanks man.
The clock settings worked for me,
thank you so much!!☺️
Thanks for the video. I tried both methods. The screen seems a little brighter, but still hard to read. Hopefully it will be better by tomorrow as one comment below stated happened for them. I'll be looking for a new tracker soon anyway as fitbit has sold out to google.
thank you so much!! the first part you did fixed mine!! I appreciate it so much
Thanks I was having dim light issue but the reset worked and made it not 100 % but it's now viewable, thanks 😊
Thanks so much!!! I have a charge 5 and I had no idea what happened. It's fixed now, so yay. 😃
Thank you soooooo much! Was ready to return it... Never been happier to see emoji. Have a nice day!!!
yeah exactly same here haha thanks
Second method worked for me after about the 10th attempt. Thank you!
The 2nd worked for me on my 3rd attempt literally as you said you’d got a smiley face I did too. Thank you
Eh :/
Thank you... after 12 times finally nr. 2 option worked and then the clock changed right after. Then I changed my brightness settings (some how was on dim) to normal but the visibility is low.. little more than dim settings. Any thougts how to brighten it up more? Can´t see in daylight... always have to got to dark area (like putting my head under jacket or something to see some).
Changing the clock face worked for my Charge 4. Thanks!
Thank you for this!! The reset worked!
Thanks for the tips. I also noticed mine was in sleep mode(dark mode) and also has a small crack on top corner of screen. But i can see it better. Thanks
It worked, saved my time and money ! Thank you very much !!!
Hi, the last one advice worked it. Thank you!
Thanks so much. My settings had gone to dim. Changing the clock did the trick
Thank you for the info!!! It was very helpful 🤙
Thanks for this video, helped tremendously!
Wow I literally haD to to do the 2nd method 22 times...then it worked on my 4. Thanks I waS about to return it
OK. I tried both methods, with no immediate luck. But I knew it was still recording even with a blank screen. So I kept it on. 24hrs after the smiley face, it magically fixed it self. So perhaps those reading this, just work a little patient / patience magic. Your little friend needs time to heal itself!
Ok
My screen still does not light up...
Smiling face showed in the first go. However I tried both methods but still not working.... may be I need to tried couple more times of smiling face
By changing the clock face worked!!! It's now charging. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the info. My fitbit finally turns on 🥺👍🏻
Thank you so much
I thought mine was broken.
You saved it.
😁😁😁😁 work out here I come 😆
thank you the charging and holding button worked i was ready to go buy another one i have had this one for 7 years and it worked
Ty! The 2nd method worked for me. I had to do it 3 times. Ty again.
fixed my wife's watch and now I'm a hero 😁 Thanks 👍🏻
Life saver thank you. What worked for me was the second option - plugging in and holding reset button
i used your 2nd choice and it worked...Thank You
Screen had been dimming over the course of a month. Tried resets before. Just get a very dim smiley face then back to black. This is my second charge 3 with essentially the same issue. the first one died just before the warranty expired so they (eventually and reluctantly) sent me a new one. That one died just after the warranty expired. Basically to know the true cost of a charge 3 divide by 12 and that is your monthly rental.
MY MAN!!! The clock face change worked just fine for my fitbit inspire. Thanks!
Thanks for the video, which in itself was good stuff! Since you asked: Neither method worked for us. Ending up returning this crappy product after more than 40 tries at method #2. Got to the smiley face - never further, never any other screen, never any bluetooth connection to app. Oh well. Will stick to Fitbit Inspire 2 or whatever it's named, and that will most likely be our last product from Fitbit.
It worked! I have the Inspire 2. I had to press and hold several times. Thanks for the help! I was about to throw it in the trash.
Thank you Sir!!! The reset worked!!!
You know, I can’t thank you even more than I am now. My watch has been broken for over 4 months, and today I was going to return it and buy an Apple Watch. But thank you SOOOOOO much, you deserve a subscribe AND a like. 🤛🏽
YO thats my alt acc I swearrrr
Hi Sir I tried both and they don't work.. unfortunately my fitbit is not paired with my new phone.. when I try to pair it.. when you go to the step that you can hear a 4 digits number coming up on the screen ... I can't read them because my screen is black.. do you have any tips to pair Fitbit without putting this code? Or maybe there is any universal code or manufacturer one I can use? Thanks in advance.. Karina
I am very much wanting to know this too, trying to reconnect my old charge 3 but the screen is totally black.
Thank you! I was trying to reset it without having it on the charger. It worked well when I followed your directions!
Method 1 worked for me. Thanks 👍👍👍
This method works for the Fitbit Inspire HR as well. Thanks man, I appreciate the help.
I have had mine since the charge3 came out and this is the only issue I have with it. Today it happened the second time. .... the reboot did the trick.
Geez thanks a bunch, I was really trying to figure out what was wrong with this thing!!!!!
The second approach worked - many thanks, I thought my Fitbit was dead
Thank you ! I’ve been stressing all day lol
Second one worked for me. Thank you soooo much.x
Thank you brother, second method did it for me
It worked! Thank you very much
Thank you so much, fixed it.
Never mind its working fine now! THANK YOUUUU
It works! Thank you !
The 😊 work..Thank you for Sharing..💯
Thanks. Worked great
thanks so much, much appreciated
Hello from London UK
Thank you so much :-) method helped 😊
Thanks:). I tried the reset and it worked
Thank you so much
Thank you so much the second one worked for me
Thank you!!
Thanks! Changing the clock face didn’t work but using the charger and keeping the button pressed finally worked after the fourth time.
when you say 4rth time you tried on 4 different occasions? I've been pressing but nothing is happening.
Thank you! It worked for me to restart it with the charger.
Neither worked for me. I'm thinking the latest update screwed up my Charge 3 as it was fine before that.
Mine died too after the update somethings fishy
oh my gawd same and i thought i did something-
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I’m not sure how it happened but my 1 y/o grandson loves to change the screen on mine 🤦🏼♀️🤣. So thankful for this easy fix!!!
Thank you! Clock reset worked for me....
Cool second method works for me!!! thanks
awesome man! did it! thanks
thank you so much ... I was ready to return this at Costco, but not anymore! Changing the clock face worked for me! again, thank you!
First one worked thank you!!
Thank you! It was both methods
I have an Alta I know it has nothing to do with the charge but when it’s on the charger it’s lit up and when it’s not it’s not. I have a feeling it may be the battery. Is there anything I can do to save the life of this until I buy my Apple Watch in December?
First one helped me. Thank you! 🤘🏻
Thank you x
Nice info for fitbit charge 3 and 4 users. 👍
It works wow on clock first try. Thanks for your video
Thank you!
Thank you up and running from the first example
Thanks my friend, it helped after the reset )))
YES! Thank you, rebooting fixed my charge 4 :D
Thanks it worked for my Charge 4.
I don't see anything on resetting the sleep setting. My sleep setting says I only slept 5 hours when I know that I slept through the night. It always worked good up until I had to do the update the other day. How do I correct this. I did the reset today hopefully that will fix the problem.
Thanks the 2nd method worked for me.
Thank you for you help👍🤗
Omg thank you soo much!!
Do you know how to fix a dim screen? I've tried both "normal" and "auto" on the brightness settings, but it is so dim I can't read it at all under natural light.
Ditto.
Buy new one. Anything but fitbit.
Go to settings on your watch and set to normal under brightness.
Thanks, bud!!
2:55 it works 🎉! Thank you so much❤😊
Thank you 😊
Thank you! Second method
