I just discovered this video. I grew up folding my socks this way, and do it as a 31 year old man, because my father taught it to me. I just thought it was the proper way to fold socks! I guess it makes sense seeing that he was a drill sergeant, lol.
Thanks for showing this. It has proved very useful for when packing a suitcase to go traveling! Now i know teo different ways of rolling socks! Im so teaching this to my kids and hubby!!
Funny - never learned how to "roll clothes" when I was in the Navy - but its a necessity for me as a civ contractor going overseas! Thanks for the vid. I regained 50% more sock space by rolling this way.
Thank you im 16 and my brother just came back from the force not so long ago im thinking about joining soon maybe the AF academy! Great help and knowledge for when i go in!
This is how I'm going to store my socks from now on. I wonder if there's a specific way the military folds their shirts and pants too. Gonna look that up.
Hanging clothes is exactly the same as you normally would. Folding clothes like gym shorts, there's specific ways. You also roll your t-shirts similar to this way
I liked using the skinny locker side of the locker to roll socks. Prep it as you normally would, place the open ends at the top, close the locker while keeping one foot on the locker to keep it from opening, pull down and roll up adjusting as needed.
This works if all your socks are solid colors. But if have dress socks or socks with patterns, you want to be able to see the pattern of the sock before you unroll it, and this method would keep the pattern hidden.
Hey, no offence to those taking the 'pee', but this demo really is a whole lot easier and quicker when one ends is trapped in a draw, or sometimes I just stand on the end or kneel as the demonstrator is doing and tuck the socks under my knee. Stretched like that there is hardly any side bits to keep tucking in. BTW. I do it because I have over 200 pairs of socks, and they take up far less room.
Seems like the effort to roll socks would be more space saving if you rolled a complete set of daily used items. Shirt, underwear and socks all in to one ball.
So much fucking time to explain it.... Just put all the socks in a plastic bag, when you will need to use a pair just drag the first two ones from the plastic bag and that is it.

Made it to Corporal, but didn't know how to do smiley socks till today 😅 Always just got away with hiring someone to do it.
Is it easier to do this with dress socks like you have because I'm having hard time doing this with my socks.

How do you do this with normal socks, not the longer ones?

Do you have to do this in tech school too?
I'm gonna start teaching kids to do this! Socks everywhere! drives me nuts.
Do you have to roll your underwear, and shirts ?
how wide do the socks have to be?
@cop39fl what do they do with ankle socks then??
I stopped rolling my socks because it makes the elastic cuff of one sock loose its shape and fall down the leg since it has no elasticity.

doesn't that fatigue the elastic?
My socks were smaller than yours. We played pool with my socks.
The trans men watching the video so they can make a cheap pack be like:
Stop outing me 💀🙏
Think you missed the reason for the video -
Guess you guys canť say you have no time to spare, folding things OCD-style ;-)
yeah ankle socks are impossible
THANK GOD, THEY DON'T ROLLL ANKLE SOCKS
Mine came out stupid lol
DUDE JUST GET TO THE POINT ALREADY
WRONG! lol sry you gotta offset it by two inches! and you don't roll your underwear you fold it
Use ur knee lol

Took entirely too long to explain something so simple
