Yeah, I agree. Sure, he is hitting some parts of the aesthetic he is going for. But there is nothing really compelling when it all comes together. The way the melody and chords play together don’t really complement each other in an interesting way. I am sure this guy can make great music. No offense to them. But this is something they threw together for a short and it really sounds like that.
