I'm in Love with Horror stories from a very young age and tbh Kowabana series acts as a bridge and allows me to stay connected with the virtual Horror experience, I really Love your Show Tara, thank you very much for your Hard work❤
The last story is a personal favorite for me, and buildings that transport you to a creepy “other world” seem to be a pretty popular horror sub-genre in Japan too. There’s even an rpg maker game about it, called “梶原くんち”, which is nice and spooky as well. Overall, another great episode, Tara!
So I saw your video on scary images but only just now realized you're the one who made that video about the round hole in the basement. There's so many stories here, what a nice find.
Alright! I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy your content and how many times I've listened to Kowabana, glad you have over 100 episodes, I go back and re-listen on long trips!
I don't believe in supernatural but I love mysterious stories, including myth and folklore. However I always feel strange when people often associate the Jizo statue with something scary when the Jizo deity himself was believed to be a compassionate and a protective deity. This deity also was believed to have ability to travel to hell realm and have vowed to help liberate souls in the mythical belief part of buddhism. Though I often observed that in stories where something when wrong, the Jizo statue in those stories were often broken, displaced, or something happened to them. My understanding is that the Jizo statues do signify protection and the broken statue implies broken protection, though in some stories, it was told that yokais sometimes disguise themselves as the Jizo statue. Btw the Spirited Away one sounds very familiar, is this related to the place(and perhaps also the story itself) where one of Conan the detective's cases drew inspiration from?
Here's a horror story. I've been putting off this video for at least a WEEK. I swear this video was uploaded last week, I read it was uploaded "2 days ago" the last time I checked, but now I see it was uploaded TWO WEEKS AGO. This is not weird or creepy to you or anyone else, but it hell is to me because I swear this video was uploaded LAST WEEK. The power of the mind.
Did something happen to the podcast on Spotify? As usual, I just opened Spotify to listen to kowabana podcast at night but it showed that the topic is missing. Has it been removed?
@@KowabanaJapan I sincerely hope you will be able to resolve it soon! By the way the amount of hardwork that is being put into creating these immersive stories is simply amazing. I'm a fan.
I strongly recommend pronouncing Japanese "I" like the English pronunciation of the letter "E" when saying the alphabet rather than the "I" in "itch." There was a certain name in this that some English speakers might be distracted by! 😅
Probably because he placed the Jizo's head the "wrong way". But according to the story, the theory is actually seeing the face is what causes the death. Perhaps the head being placed in reverse is to enable people to pray and make offerings to it without being killed.

I really thought the imagery from the 4th story was going to reveal..something..the way it was panning.
That sounds like a great idea in the future 😂

What happened to Spotify 😢
It’s back up now, my host had some issues updating their software apparently.

There seems to be a problem with my host, I’m working on finding out what!

@@KowabanaJapan Been listening to it from the very next day again. Really amazing and addictive podcast 😇❤️!

I didn't get the second story. Why did the man that prayed died?
