This was a great one! Loved the Night Kagura story. Those sorts of positive but still ethereal experiences with the supernatural make for the best stories.
Guy from the first story: "I still don't know what happened" The same guy: - witnesses his friend being taken away by some force - proceeds to threaten that force with Hellraiser punishments Well, man, apparently you are a scary entity on your own.
Yay! I get so excited every time a new Kowabana comes out, even if you made the entirety of your content just this I'd have no complaints. I kinda of just stumbled upon you in my recommended a couple years ago & I'm so glad the YT algorithm gods introduced me to your channel because sometimes when I'm having a bad day it gives me something to be happy for. Thank you. 💖
Oh yeah especially after 24 HRS straight Work, accidentially hittin yt And this vid. Best surprise this week when i Heard Tara speaking, No clue where her voice was coming from xDDD But IT was a nice surprise. Thx a Lot my dear❤️🤘
I didn't even get to watch the video when you dropped a new book. Now i have to pause the video and buy the book. Thanks Tara!! edit: bought book. now listening and reading at the same time.
You could also focus on the video and read the book during down time between videos for better efficiency and to actually absorb both of them better lel
I've been following this podcast for over a year now and I really love it ❤️...but I'd appreciate if u included one of those long creepy stories in the next one.
First story: I think there was an evil shrine maiden playing a prank on them using her supernatural powers. But when the man was angry, she decided enough was enough, then stopped. Maybe? 🤷♂️ Second story: The title sounds like a horror meets comedy movie. Lol. Night Kagura: I bet the dude would have done it without hesitation for an actual, hot lady. Typical bro behavior. 😂 I forgot to add. Third Story: if this was an anime, the maiden would have fought the entity in an epic battle to save the soul of the bishonen businessman who she secretly loves, but can’t express it because she’s a classic tsundere. Also, the priest would have been the Master Roshi of the show. Last story: I still think it’s a prank by the class.
I’m extremely excited to go to Japan. I’m especially interested in Shinto and shrines because of similarities with my mother’s indigenous culture. So I’m gonna do a lot of hands on research. I hope something interesting happens
The concept of teacher endorsed tests of courage seemed so weird to me at first, but then I thought that kids are going to do it anyway, you may as well make sure they’re safe doing it.
But ghost aren’t supernatural they’re just an natural phenomenon, rare that they are yet as natural as any other mysterious things seen in the universe. An occurrence that like many others we haven’t understood why or how they happen to exist in the first place only just that they happen.
The Night Kagura story sounds like an anime, with the MC meeting a trap and then a tiny shrine maiden. Kinda drops my suspension of disbelief, but the rest of the stories worked well.

That shrine maiden in second story was just headbanging to some sweet underworld metal tune

Outstanding thanks Tara 😊
The last one made me feel real wistful listening to it. I doubt it continues but it's a shame that person never went back
Part Time Shrine Maiden sounds like the name of an anime honestly.

Props to the man in the first story
"Fuck off with that spooky shit and gimme my friend back!!"
An awesome episode dedicated to shrines and shrine maidens! 😎
It’s a good day when there’s a Kowabana upload c:

The shrine maiden was headbanging 🤘
Night Kagura is less scary and more 'this is how I met my husbando." Still not sure if he was human or not
i’m glad i’m not the only one that thought that lmao
@@8mourningstar "My husband is a part-time snake god." That's what I'm calling it if anyone writes a sequel
Same thoughts 😂
Yep, less of a horror story and more of a "boys love" read. 😅
Blech

Just got back from Japan for a two week vacation! Unfortunately not a single glimpse of anything supernatural, but that’s probably for the best!
Yeah kowabana time😊😊😊
Cowabana it is!
Does anyone watch "Yamishibai"? It's a good anime that's in the kamishibai style which tells short horror styles, each episode lasting 5min each.
Shrine maidens, yes!
I thought shrine gates are mainly red?

I like creepy things
