I am a big fan, watched all your videos, very much appreciated for all your effort in aid of vespa enthusiasts like myself and saving money while learning the trade skills. Thanks Mitch and keep up the excellent tutorials. Warmest regards.
All fairly simple on a Vespa. Nice Video. I'm loving mine but over here in England it is going Rusty underneath which is a big disappointment. But it looks brilliant & matches my White VW T5 !
Thanks for the video! It was a great help! I have a GT200l (my daily driver) and a 1967 Sprint! I have a video of my GT in Cape Town and a few videos of my Sprint on my vlog. Thanks for this video, however, I follows your instructions and changed my oil! My bike feels like new!
Dude you must have been a scooter in your previous life!!!! Amazing work man! Just found your channel today. I’ve had all kinds of bikes.... from Honda 500r. Fzr250. Cbr600rr 1000rr triumph rocket 🚀 Harley wide glide and many more. ...... but last year I got myself a Honda Forza 300. Dude. The most fun I have had in two wheels in years. Living in the U.K. I’ve found it’s pointless having a Supersport bike. Don’t get me wrong they are lovely machines. But you can’t “legally “ enjoy their full potential! Unless you fork out for track days every other weekend. Nah. I’ve finally found my sweet spot:-))). It’s scooters for me for the next few years that’s for sure. I saw that video on the Honda elite rebuild..... the little red one. Dude you have the patience of a Saint!!!! Hahaha keep smiling:-). Have you even worked on a Forza before?
Great Video! I like to bungee one of the brake handles and lean the Vespa on a wall (When Draining the Oil). By not having to use the center stand it's a little easier and less messy but you do have to be careful. It also makes it a little easier to lean the bike left and right to get all the oil out. Ride it like you stole it!!! Fat Cat Scooter Glen
Spare wheel for a scooter is must.In south Asia the modern equipment for repair of punctured tyre is scarcely available and dragging a scooter with flat tyre is impossible, therefoe I strongly suggest that either a spare tyre or a compact tyre be provided with Vespa.
Does not help mucho as it is pain to try a change on the roadside. And need alla the wrenches and air-pumps with you. -and if we think about roadside-problems, what about empty battery? You cannot run-start a vespa.
I used to be a service tech. You should run the engine after adding the oil and before checking the level. The oil won't saturate and fill the filter or pump until after the engine has been on, so checking the level beforehand is an inaccurate pointless step and might give you a higher reading than is actually in the oil pan. Fill the oil, run the engine for about 15 seconds, then check level. What you did in the video made you run it without enough oil.
Hey, thanks for the awesome tutorial. Does the Vespa have an Service Light/Icon that will pop up after some Mile‘s? Because then i would want to reset it after changing the oil. Thanks✌🏼
Hello my friend. I strained the oil plug seat a little while changing the oil. The screw is solid, but I stripped the slot, the place where the screw went in. The master came and closed the gasket again. The liquid seal lasted. Is the liquid seal safe? Will I have a problem after a certain period of time due to overheating while driving long distances? This is the first time in my life that I see such a product. I looked online. The whole world uses it. Do you think there will be a problem? Thank you please.
Hey MItch, first time here; great vid. I have the same bike, and just replaced both tires. I'm supposed to do the calibration of the ABS/ASR systems, but I just don't seem able to. Would you do a video on this? Already have one? Cheers!
Mitch's Scooter Stuff that’s weird but not arguing with the manual. But majority of motorcycles I know require “just dip”. But thanks. Another proof that reading the manual is important always :)
Hi Michal, on a most modern Vespa scooters, they specify Screwing down Completely the dipstick. And yes, most other metric bikes you just push in to test. Vespas are quirky and that's what makes them special. Want to really be blow away, look at the required service on a Vespa vs. most Japan scooters and you won't believe how much more is required. But you gotta love 'em to own them :-)
I just bought a Vespa Primavera 150 and the closest Vespa shop is 300 miles away so Mitch's Scooter Stuff videos will really help. Thank you!
A plus video!!!! No bullshit straight to the point clear concise . Thank you for the great upload.

Really well done, clearly well shown and especially the quality check after filling it the first time.

Thank you. Have you had you been to the barbours mate
Nice vid Mitch! :)
What if you handtighten the oil filter and turn it another 1/4. What torq will you get then?
That's fine.
Small filters such as these are easy to tighten by hand.
dude.....6years ago =D...thanks for the reply though@@Winterstick549

Thanks✌🏼

Thanks video was useful!!! 😁🙏
You're welcome!
One mistake: oil drain plug required 24mm wrench, not 17!
Very good how-to video!
Thank you Steve!
Great vid, off to do mine now, thanks very much
masterpiece, thank you
Muchas gracias Mich!!! Me encanta!
Bravissimo!!!! Grazie, Giovanni da Firenze
bravissimo!! Grazie!! Giovanni from Italy
😄🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks Mitch
Nice video .. except you changing oil on non sealed ground .. if you spill oil it’s super bad.
17mm 1/2 drive socket
Yes, looks like 24mm ;-D
Great video. Thanks!
😄🙌🏼
Good video!
Muy bueno amigo saludos desde malaga españa
Does this Vespa has spare wheel and where is it located?
Nope, it doesn't have one
Thanks,good video
Thank you Mitch!!!
That’s Vespa of your friend Amy, or you bought a new one? 😉😜
Amy's :) haha I wish it's mine! One day... I will get one again
filter should just be hand tightened. Unless you want to have a fight with it next time....
The drain plug needs a 24 mm socket, not 17 mm. Best regards
For all who own a 2023 model, they changed dipstick location. It's now right by the water pump on the right side.
Wow!
24mm bolt??? :)
Shouldn't it just take a certain amount of oil?
Thanks for the video
Our pleasure!
Hi mitch
Thanks!!
cool,thanks
Thanx man
You're welcome!
All my friends have bikes and I'm like hhmm vespa tho
Bravo'!
Damn My 17 doesn’t fit and my 19 doesn’t even fit. I must have a lot bigger bolt you think they would all be the same
👍👍👍❤❤❤🛵🏋♂️супер
vorrei sapere dove si trova il tappo di scarico oli mozzo vespa gts 300 possibilmente con foto chiare achillepanichelli @libero.it
The oil should be checked without screwing the dipstick in! Just let it sit on top of the thread. But nice video anyways ;)
Hi, the service manual said "screwing down completely" ... thanks
Mitch's Scooter Stuff that’s weird but not arguing with the manual. But majority of motorcycles I know require “just dip”. But thanks. Another proof that reading the manual is important always :)
Mitch's Scooter Stuff: My Burgman AN400 says “don’t screw at all” :) Please, can you check your burgman’s manual just to be sure that it’s correct?
Michal Kovar
Don't comment on stuff you know nothing about.
It's that simple...

Let the oil drain onto the dirt. Oil comes out of the ground as it is so put it back! ,_.-=^*
IT's Texas sweet crude. ;) I saw nothing wrong here. Looked tidy and clean to me.

Very helpful thank you
