There is this new niche where metal is being written for gaming, as exemplified by the music for Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal. I am here for it as a massive gamer and a newly minted metal fan.

Doom has always been influenced by metal, John Carmack and John Romero wrote the original game while listening to metal, at least that's what Romero has said in interviews.

True, in League of Legends, they have for example the Band Pentakill (made 3 albums), 1 of the IRL band members are Jørn Lande (can't remember the others and I'm on a shitty internet right now).
Their second album, Grasp of the Undying, reached Number 1 on the iTunes metal charts in 2017.
League of Legends have also had some K-pop group, and other bands, usually made for World Championships.
henriks whole schtick is his very fast rap style he puts into his growl technique, he has several songs where he uses it for more than just a single short line of lyrics at a time, such as fury, gg6 and boom!1.
in boom!1 specifically, henrik does 12 seconds of "warmup" at 1:38 in the song in for a 14 seconds of even higher speed rap growling, during those 26 seconds, i can only hear him take 2 quick breath breaks.
As a Swede, it is always nice that our Metal music is appreciated around the world.😃

As a Finn, I feel a bit weird liking Swedish metal bands more than local ones. Swedes just have production dialed-in so well. So many great musicians over the years too. \,,/ I guess me getting hooked on Yngwie at an early age affected me a lot xD

Henrik (gg6) is really that fast! I saw a recording video of a part in the song “Boom!” Really amazing!! So you really need to try Boom!
Its a typical Amaranthe song. Good mix of the heavy music with loads of synth. Personally i like it very much! :D
Fun fact: Morten is from Denmark. One of the few international known Danish musicians in the metal scene. (Yes i know we have Lars Ulrich.. Nothing to be too proud of..)
If you want more of Henrik's fast "rap growl" or whatever we should call it, check out their song Boom!1 (not a typo) Its 80% GG6 singing. it's f*ing insane! Also we get to hear Elize screaming ;)
Have you checked out Dynazty? That's where the clean vocalist is from. Definitely power metal but I really enjoy them and Nillson's vocals are really shown off there.

GG6 has absolutely remarkable articulation in his words, the fact he is also utilizing his false vocal folds when he throws done some rhymes truly makes him in a league of his own. I think this song is super appropriate for it's intended writing purpose being eSports as you said at the start of the video. Also Tank, your beard is getting so long and still looks healthy! Keep growing legend!! 💪

Man, you nailed it - again. With this ton of extra stuff you put into your reactions - it is outstanding. I really enjoy the way you make this kind of video. Amaranthe did an small accoustic live performance video for an German charity stream organized by a few german youtubers/twitch streamers that raised at least 1.5milion€ maybe going up to 2 million after calculation of merch sells

One of my favorite bands, hadn't had a chance to watch the video until now. Nice to check it out with one of my favorite reactors, and that you like it as well.
I heard it the day it released and I sometimes find myself singing it randomly love it so much.
Amaranthe is also pretty hit or miss for me too and this was definitely a hit. Would love you to check out Seven Kingdoms! Saw them open for UTA and they were a lot of fun

Great reaction! I was kinda surprised when Amaranthe dropped this a couple months ago without an accompanying music video but it immediately went into regular rotation in my playlists. The video didnt disappoint when it did come out! As always, your reaction had information I have no background for at all, well done again and cant wait for the next one!
The chorus is really catchy and the riff is great. Nothing for my personal playlist, but it's still cool to discover more of their music through your videos. Maybe, one day, I'll find a song I really like 😄

He is definitely that fast I read somewhere that he was once clocked at 4bps slower than Eminem other great examples are the songs FURY, GG6, and BOOM!1or the song he does with the band Blind Channel by the name of SNAKE

If you haven't listened to their song "GG6" or "Boom!1" then you need to go listen to those. They really showcase Henrik well in those songs.
Just another recommendation for you to check out Amaranthe - Boom! GG6 is the main vocalist in it and he is so good!!

Same with Amaranthe being hit or miss as getting a bit too pop. But the do make the playlist rotation to lighten things up as a palette cleanser.
Going into this, I had just listened to Fury (2016), so tempo was slightly subverted. I'm going to have to come back to this one.
Amaranthe is also a little hit or miss for me, but that's ok. There's other bands I like that also have songs I usually skip.
The songs I like of them (including this one) are all so damn catchy. :D
I read somewhere that the gaming industry is bigger than both the Music & Movie industry combined, I haven't fact checked this, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.
If you are going back to something you haven't reacted to in a bit I recommend Avatar and their live version of Napalm. You will love it and a great opportunity to dive into gear and production from a live streaming concert.

You should check out "Heads Up" - from FUTURE PALACE. They just released this second single of their upcoming album "Run" . Started out as a mix of Post-Hardcore and Alternative Rock but the two songs they already released from their second album gave me major Spiritbox / Courtney LaPlante vibes. You should give it a try, maybe you hear something you like and could give them some exposure.

"Blegh" became a huge thing within the last 10-15 years in the metalcore and deathcore scene, and now it's starting to pop up all over the place.

While PvP isn't a favorite of mine, it's still a solid song. I highly recommend you check out Viral and Archangel If you haven't already in your downtime. Both are absolute killers, both musically and cinematically

Does anybody know what reason is behind the song... as in why is there an "anthem for swedish esports team"? Or is that kinda just a slightly misconstrued to make sense for boomers/un-involved?
With lyrics like "boom headshot right between the eyes" I would assume it would be FPS-related. As far as I know, most shooters, or even games in general, do not do national teams, but rather international organizations that might, but might not, utilize single-national rosters. With Counter Strike major and a Rainbow Six major tournaments happening in Sweden just month or so ago, was this for one of those?
I actually really looked into this a ton to see what I could find, and everything was very vague. It just said this song was written as the theme for the Swedish Championship E-Sports team, and that was it. Even the info on the official press releases was extremely vague.

My feelings about Amaranthe are nearly the same.
Some tracks are a bit to playful to me, other stuff I like.
To be fair, Henrik's vocal color disturbs me most of the time. So in songs, he is more dominant, that's aren't my favorite stuff.
I'm a bit sad about myself, because generally Amarenthe burns down the hut with their music, and also they are able to write enormous good ballads.
But that's my musical taste, I've 2 albums I think and I'm not sure to get me more in the future
Good thing that tank did not grow up in the 70's or 80's, because rare was it ever that an album that came out had more than two really good songs on it, .... and if you were very lucky, five out of nine tracks would be excellent, and maybe three were throwaway or filler songs.
And as a for instance while I have never really been an Iron Maiden fan, and can only think of two songs that I really care for

I think in your first Amaranthe reaction you said you'd love them even more if all they had were the harsh vocals. I think I'm coming around to that view, in that I think I like them more when they lead with the harsh and let the cleans play the 2nd fiddle. Probably an evolution of my tastes, but I guess that had to happen after year+ ride-along in a Tank? ))))

mechina - aphelion also brings it. think fear factory mixed with wintersun. with a little djent bend to it. its not their best song, but its a great song and the lead single from their upcoming album coming out 1/1. check them out, they should be much more well known than they are, theyre really good. theyre self-produced and distributed, so they dont have the promotion of a big label behind them. i actually saw a comment on one of their videos the other day that while theyre amazing at music, theyre not as good at marketing. does seem to be true. help them out and get them some exposure!
So that you say GG6 "have" some edit on that fast growl, it means like you say every single growl singer use edit. That sounds like that 🤷.
And also why have to pause video and speak, just let the music video play and then react and comment like nick do he not pause video at all and that's better
