- Hey Everyone,
I know you are all really freaked out right now. I am too. And while I’m proud that we’re all doing the necessary things at the moment to help flatten the curve, I know it has left us all incredibly isolated.
But because we’re all going through this nightmare together we are quite literally NOT alone. Our lives and stories are all linked, maybe more now than they have ever been.
Be it with DCFC, Postal Service, or solo I have always been grateful for the honor you have bestowed upon us by choosing to congregate en masse around our music. Some of you have traveled great distances and/or shelled out large sums of money to see us play and that has never been lost on me. So in this crazy and unprecedented time, I’d like to return the favor by coming to YOU.
For the next few weeks I will be playing songs everyday from my home studio. We will be streaming on UA-cam at 4pm PST daily. We’re still working out the details but I’m hoping to take some requests and maybe even have a guest or two stop by digitally. The first show will be tomorrow. It will assuredly be a little wonky and glitchy but we’re gonna do our best.

Ben, your music has been a soundtrack to my entire life. Photo Album and Transatlanticism got me through highschool. I somehow convinced my wife to marry me by singing and playing many of your songs to her and we sang Such Great Heights together at our wedding. Now I sing Lily to my daughter Lilly every night when I put her to bed. Keep making music because it really matters to the world and myself and I really appreciate it.

DCFC has been one of my favorite bands for 15 years but I hadn’t really been listening to them much lately. I broke up with my gf of 4 years about a month ago and so ben’s lyrics and melodies were exactly what I needed. I’ve had tiny vessels on a loop in my mind for weeks. And now today here you are helping everyone through an even harder time for the country.

Jacob Dexter Tiny Vessels is one of my favorite . I wasn’t listening to DCFC lately too, after this series of lives I’m hooked up again.
The tears poured out tonight during these songs and I enjoyed every single second. Maybe it’s Nostalgia, or the terrible time we are all having- but these songs hit the spot. A very bittersweet performance. We are all together alone. Thanks Ben ❤️

I'm so jealous. I finally got the opportunity to attend a DCFC show on March 1. They got through 4 songs before cutting it short. Glad to see Ben's voice has recovered. Of their classics, I only got to hear "The New Year"

thanks so very much for doing this. not only does it help the group for which you're raising money, but i think it just raises morale in general. for me it was the banter in between songs as much as the music. same with the fb livestream from Frank Turner earlier. need to stay connected. and this kind of stuff helps pick up the down and outers. like me. it's dire for many already, if not health-wise, financially. keep at it. appreciate your work ben.

So this may sound like the strangest coincidence - but i have always felt connected to this human Wether his own music on postal service or dcfc so it’s been the true, first concert at 16 heartband kinda thing. Going to that level I have this guys neologism „Transatlanticism“ under my skin.

He literally posted the vid 2 min after turning into my bday and I couldn’t feel happier and luckier than ever.
This whole situation is weird and new for us all and I am already „resigned“ to well adapt to the new circumstances we are living in and also expect a „happy official catastrophe declaration day in Germany at ur bday“
But it’s okay I guess change is difficult and scares us but often is what we need the most and I personally see this whole tragic epidemic state in humanity as an opportunity to have a wakeup call to rethink our true principles, goals and purposes are. We have been living in such a material world. I think we need the time to re-evaluate things and the true priorities in life and we are forced to face the reality and the privileged luxury life prob most of us had.
To you Ben, thanks for unconsciously giving me one of the best gifts on my bday - knowing u will b there as a musical support. Means a lot to me!
