This was my grandmother's favorite song. She passed away last night. Now,she's with Jesus singing with the angels.
This was my mother in law’s favorite song. It was sung at her memorial service. Every time I hear it I think of her. Ten minutes before she died she told our pastor she trusted Christ as her Savior. Years of witnessing to her that resulted in an eternal glorious end to this temporary life.

How I love this old hymn!!! When I was a child, the woman who lived across the street and went to the same church as our family , had a beautiful voice and often sang this as a solo!!!! I always loved to hear her sing!! She loved the Lord so dearly. She had a very rough life due to losing a son in a chemical fire at his job and a husband who showed no love to her. Then he had some health problems and he came to know Jesus as his Savior!!! Then he could not do enough for her--he spoiled her and loved her tremendously!!!!! She well deserved it!!! When I hear this song --She always comes to my mind!!!!

My dad passed in April. I miss him. But I know, as God watches the sparrow, so He watched over daddy. He’s not suffering any more.

Thank you for that beautiful song. My sweet husband went to be with our Lord in October of 2021. We were married 41 years and I feel as thought my heart is going to break because I miss him so. Her sweet husband was killed by a fruit truck in BC, Canada.
One day I will meet my grandfather who sang hymns before meals. I have his own hymnal.
That reunion will be extra special b cause he was frightfully shunned for bringing unbelievers to church!!! Or something like this….. he was such a kind man!!!

I'm wondering why Kristyn Getty only sings one of the three verses of this lovely hymn by Civilla Martin written in 1905 after this occasion:
Early in the spring of 1905, my husband and I were sojourning in Elmira, New York. We contracted a deep friendship for a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle-true saints of God. Mrs. Doolittle had been bedridden for nigh twenty years. Her husband was an incurable cripple who had to propel himself to and from his business in a wheel chair. Despite their afflictions, they lived happy Christian lives, bringing inspiration and comfort to all who knew them. One day while we were visiting with the Doolittles, my husband commented on their bright hopefulness and asked them for the secret of it. Mrs. Doolittle's reply was simple: "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." The beauty of this simple expression of boundless faith gripped the hearts and fired the imagination of Dr. Martin and me. The hymn "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" was the outcome of that experience.

This is one of my father’s and my all time favorite Christian songs. This version gives me a feeling of calm and serenity. The version that we use to play was more of Choir singing. Every time I hear this song brings back great memories with my father who passed away in 2017. He was 88 years old. Thank you and I love you Dad.
