    Grills is a bit of an overstatement. It's very simple really, during the summer Robins and Vivesh fell out, Robins sacked him and did not replace him. Doesn't make any sense. You have two winnings guys who have done great things for your club, they have a disagreement and one decides to leave- so what does the club do? Sack the other guy because the two weren't getting on even though the first guy had already departed. How's it Mark Robins fault the owner can't find a suitable replacement for Ade? Seems Doug King’s view is that MR/Viveash were like a Clough Taylor partnership where both together amounted to more than the two individuals. Results have disappointed since last April but the Championship is so tight that winning three more games would put us in the play off mix again. I think MR deserved more time as the team are inconsistent, not a poor team. Doug King has made a call that he can’t see MR turning it around. He might be correct and only time will tell. If he gets the next appointment right all will be well. If not then we could do a Birmingham and drop out of the Championship.

    Viveash was a massive influence behind the scenes and to say he was an 'assistant' manager takes away his day to day dealings in training and player development. Gyokores thanked him for developing his game and look where he is now. A few players specifically signed because Viveash was at the club.
    It is no secret that Robins and Viveash had many disagreements over the years on how to take the team forward and it seems it just reached a breaking point, Robins refused to work with him ever again so what can the owner do? Let go of one and it was never going to be Robins.
    As a duo they were amazing but Robins as a lone entity is only half as good as the sum...think Clough and Taylor.

If we do not finish higher in the league this season than last I think you will see a large drop in the number of season tickets sold as many such as myself (season ticket holder for over 20 years) will not renew (as I didn't in the Northampton and Birmingham season s). Robins had a special bond with the majority of fans, but fans such as yourself (who no doubt sang the embarrassing Doug king song) have been mislead by a chancer who is just out to make a quick buck and give his shaving business free publicity.

      I wouldn’t say bang average, that’s what they’ve been playing like recently for sure, if not, worse. Individually and in moments this team have been superb and Coventry were at risk of losing them to bigger clubs. These players have great potential for promotion. If a good manager comes in I wouldn’t discount playoffs, though it’s unlikely now

    • @environm3ntalist549
      @environm3ntalist549 Місяць тому

      @ bang average wasn’t a diss. The average in the championship is the same for about 20 teams. There is little to choose between them. There is nothing outstanding about Coventrys team. They have average championship quality. They might challenge for playoffs they might easily battle relegation. That’s the Championship.

    He's the guy with the "check book" so despite making no sense and going into "panic mode" far too easily, it is his decision to make. I just hope he realises the huge gamble he is taking as the "caretaker" of this Great Institution. No big institution should have a careless owner, when you take on such a task you must know that The Club, The Fans, and The Region, are way above you, your ego, and your insecurities (I can only think something on the personal level occurred between him and Mark Robbins). I just hope he demonstrates more sense in appointing the new Manager, and hope he realizes that Frank Lampard his too big a gamble to take, aside from the fact that it will be "The Lampard Club" and stop being "Coventry City." I'm not suggesting this is Lampard's fault, but that is the way thing are. Aside from that, the fact that many will perceive this to be Fran's last chance as a Manager and we have a disaster waiting to happen.

    In my opinion and thats all it is. I think as we are setting up as a basically prem team with backroom staff well away from league onenwhere a manager does so much more. Lampard would fit that set up, he knows it from Chelsea and Everton. What he has also done for derby can not be disconted either. With MR sacking it is a realshame but things really did change when his no.2 and 3 left, you could see him getting more and more frustrated. Even us as fans never knew or know what team were playing until KO. MR just couldn't find it this time. So here we are, this may become a salvage season until next, we may even be in a relegation battle (which i believe we would have been had it stayed the same ) so im just glad it has been done early enough to potentially change this seasons outcome. As Sad as it is to lose a manager of such time hes been at the club.
    Our city has changed as a result of MR and team, kids in cov tops everywhere you look.
    But ultimately it had to change.

Hamer was offered £35,000 pw to move to Sheff Utd and Gyokores was offered a new contract but was tapped up by Sporting Lisbon with a huge offer. Players and agents control the narrative and the owner had to sell, we bought Gyokores for £2 million and sold him for £20 million with a 10% sell on clause. We bought Hamer for £1 million and sold him for £8 million with the same.
