Welcome to Khao Sok National Park, located in the Southern Thailand province of Surat Thani. It’s one of the world’s oldest rainforests, and one of my favorite places to visit in Thailand. A combination of the incredible ancient rainforest ecosystem and the karst mountain landscape make it spectacular. #Thailand #KhaoSok #jungle
On this trip to Khao Sok National Park, my family and I stayed at Our Jungle Camp, an eco lodge with wooden stilt tree houses, surrounded by beautiful jungle. It’s a great place to stay, highly recommended. In this video I’ll first give you a tour of our tree house, and then in the evening I signed up to go on a walking night safari in the jungle.
Although walking through the jungle at night was kind of scary, it was so cool and a totally different perspective from day light. You can really hear the sounds of the rainforest, the crickets, and drips of rain, and leaves. It was a great experience, and we were lucky to see a loris, three snakes, lots of bats, a tarantula, and finally a couple of flying fox at the end.

I know I’m late to the comments, but I am moving to Thailand in a couple years. Currently learning Thai (verbal only at the moment). I am so excited!
We stayed in one of the treehouses a few years ago and did a daytime trek. It took the WHOLE day climbing the verges of waterfalls and swimming across the water with our backpacks over our heads. The best bit was when our guide (who was wearing FLIP FLOPS btw) would pause and look lost and we’d be like “okay were gonna die in this jungle” 😆😆. When we got back to our treehouse we were so overjoyed I didn’t notice the bloodstain on my shorts where leeches had snacked on my behind🥴. It was an amazing experience

Lots of snakes in Khao Sok, and lots of exotic wild lives! I hope 【NONE OF THEM ends up on Mark Wien's plate tomorrow】. LOL just kidding! In all seriousness, it is NOT easy to spot most of these wild lives in broad daylight among the thick bushes & trees, let alone in the middle of the night. Looks like the guide is definitely very experienced, to him it's like walking at his own backyard! :D

What a fun adventure! I did a similar guided night trek in the Amazon. Unbelievable experience. I was always afraid of stepping on something. And people need to remember that snakes can be on tree branches at eye level! *shiver*. Place looks amazing!

Ohhh so nice to see you three there. We were staying at the our Jungle Camp in 2019 and booked the overnight tour at the Cheow Lan Lake. We saw the most breathtaking sceneries and just enjoyed the pure Nature.
There is a night train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, from where you can get a shuttle directly to Our Jungle Camp. I really can recommend this sort of travelling! So many impressions and the proximity to the everyday life.
Night safari is great and so thrilling.

I think the next couple of years, South Thailand will be the popular destination for the tourist. I can't wait for the boarder to be open again. Before this I feel a bit worried to go to Thailand especially the South of Thai. But with your video, it has change my perception. I should go visit Thailand after this. Usually I went to Indonesia. But now I know that Thailand also have many interesting places, culture, history and food that need to be explore. Thai government should be thank to you for being their ambassador in promoting Thailand. Keep up a good work Mark. Really enjoy your channel.
