Love how it looks like some sort of ceremony on Homeworld. I feel like the diamonds would do it to assert their authority, to show other gems how powerful and beautiful they are, and how tiny the rest of the gems are. I must say that the design of the fusion is gorgeous and the animation is very smooth, you did amazing 🤩
In an AU maybe but in Canon the Diamonds despise fusion. Fusion is seen as a way to make weak gems a bit stronger. They would be seen as weak
That’s more Jasper’s opinion on fusion, the diamonds see fusion as something unnatural and disgraceful, not perfect/ out of line. That’s why they have rejuvenators to take care of gems who do go out of place, they only care about the perfect empire they raised
@@LastCry1 That not true? fusion among like gems is a cultural accepted as seen with the ruby guard who all fuse together when in desperate situations. They are all diamonds so nobody would bat an eye

Love thinking about this as a way to "fix" or heal Homeworld. They combined their essences to heal the corrupted gems, so maybe when fused they could heal entire planets, or bring new life to old planets. The ultimate transformer, the strongest gem fusion. Crazy!

It would have to be an AU thing, because Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz is dead. Steven would have to be the one fusing with the other three diamonds, since he's Rose Quartz's son, and the "new Pink Diamond".
I wish this was canon, it could tie to how the diamonds hate fusion even more and why they want no one to fuse; it could remind them of Pink and how The Diamonds felt when they were all together
The issue wasn't the diamond hated fusion. There was plenty of condoned fusion it was the fusing of different type of gems. Remember in the flash back with blue diamond a bunch of rubies fused.
The fact that they had to go outer space to fuse is GENIUS!!!!!! IT'S SO BEAUTIFULLY FRIGHTENING
Missed the "fan animation" bit and was like "damn, I don't remember SU looking this good??" This was insanely well done, gorgeous animation.

This is absolutely GORGEOUS animation, I can totally imagine this actually being in the series, the fusion is beautiful! Wonderful job! It even gives an eerie vibe to it, like the end of homeworld? Idk how to explain it, but I love it.

This is exactly how I imagined the fusion of four diamonds. Majestic. Radiant. GIANT!!!
I love this animation and I can’t imagine how big the diamond fusion would be if obsidian’s fusion was that large, and the gems were relatively tiny.
Also Amythest and Pearls fusion was THAT large a TWO GEM FUSION they were like idk 13 stevens tall!
Remember that Amethyst was supposedly to be bigger, so every fusion including her should be even bigger.

it is taboo to fuse with other kinds of gems, not the same type. Topaz and Rubies do this all the time
