Allen performs great in the playoffs especially against Mahomes. He’s trusted. Doesn’t matter if he wins or loses the MVP. The Bills didn’t have high expectations before the season.
Lamar doesn’t perform in the playoffs & didn’t perform against Mahomes. But, he’s the 2 time MVP. While Allen has none. The Ravens got Henry. That made them one of the favorites this season. That’s all the pressure.

People bring up how bad the Bills were supposed to be like the expectation hasn’t changed.
The Steelers are a prime example of a team who exceeded our expectations, but our perception of them has not changed. The Bills are Super Bowl contenders now, and if they lose in the 2nd round, it should not be seen as they over achieved, it should be seen as they failed. Just the same as the Chiefs and the Ravens.

The MVP is a regular season award. Playoffs have no baring on it outside of whether your team made it.

If you want to talk stats, then the 2 years Lamar won MVP Allen had better stats one of those years and other QBs crushed him the other year yet he still won both. Lamar has more pressure to win, because he has been crowned and given flowers for doing less than those who haven’t received either yet.

It doesn’t make sense. Why would the quarterback who people are arguing is better and has historically performed better in the playoffs not have more pressure to win the Super Bowl.
Because he doesnt have 2 mvps and has a stacked roster, the bills have lost key players and josh allen is still performing at a high level, lamar is trying to solidify his career as one of the greatest and the very few qbs that have multiple mvps and a super bowl ring, allen can win the mvp this year and get to a semi finals and thats a successful season for him. But next year he will have the pressure on him

However the the bigger picture should be that the player who accomplished more than 99% of qb’s within the past 5/6 years the way Lamar has done it SHOULD play better to his standard within the regular season. I don’t think Allen is that far off from Lamar as it pertains to his standards and the pressure he has. Peyton manning himself was in a similar situation like this and the media scrutinize him for it. To some extent it is a shame Allen haven’t won mvp still. If he won it this year than the argument would be different you see what I mean?
