  • Chinese effects giant Mooer has really stepped up its game in recent months, and its collaborative effort with Devin Townsend has produced the company's most heavily featured stompbox yet, the Ocean Machine delay, reverb and looper.
In this video demo, Michael Astley-Brown and Simon Arblaster dive in deep with the all-powerful pedal, investigating its gargantuan ambient tones.
    Guitar: Shergold Masquerader SM03-SD
    Amp: Vox AC15

At last someone showing the capabilities of the looper on it but i would have liked to have heard more on that as it has apparently 44 sec or so of looping time , so i just kinda wished u had of explored that more , but thx u for what u did do.

Well done gents! You actually showed us the functionality, unlike 90% of the other demos. Thanks very much👍

14:32 ... not a bad Spring sound ... even has a chirpy 'drip' to it (I wonder what the parameters are to adjust that

I need some hp connecting my machine to Amp and guitar! I must be doing something wrong because I'm getting no sound from Amp?

Whilst I've been thinking of getting 1 of these, I can't help but think that Mooer have pretty much wasted the 2nd half of the Delay A dial.
I was hoping for some really nice trippy oscillating ambient delay sounds along the lines of the Strymon Big Sky, but I thought that the liquid, crystal, rainbow, and low bit, along with the shimmer setting on the reverb, to be quite poor and not very useable which is a shame because they could've given Strymon a run for their money.
Now that I've heard an in-depth demo of the Mooer I'm not sure what to do, buy this or save up the extra £250 or so and get the Strymon.....unless there's anything else on the market similar to these.
I only want a unit like this to create ambient recordings so I'd like to have as many different sound options as possible, but that Strymon is so bloody expensive 😠

Jammy Git just combine it with a few other basic effects and the world’s your oyster. If it’s good enough for DT it should be good enough for mere mortals. I have the OM and it’s a stunning well designed and well made piece of kit. Recommended.

What is the Maximum delay milisecond in ocean machine Please Tell me!

I just thought I'd comment that the Mooer Ocean Machine (which is brilliant) will only run with a fully powered (500 ma - 9V) power supply! I tried a couple of (claimed 500 ma) PSU and it did not output any sound. Then I plugged into a "Power Professor" multi-power supply unit, and it works perfectly!

Best to go as much over 500ma as you can find, for sure. Really obnoxious that they didn't include a power supply, but it's an awesome pedal regardless.

The only effect they liked was the only one I didn’t gave a f, haha, 😂 it is a ambient pedal not a distortion shredding thingy.. just bought it for my electric violin can’t wait to try it!!

I really wish I was worthy of that pedal... But my skill level just isn't there yet.

Practice makes perfect Etienne, you don't need to be be a pro to appreciate something like this and having fun with it.
There are lots of presets to use to begin with, and you can just play with it and watch a few youtube videos and learn how to use it 👍

Pick it up, and learn and grow with it. It's not that hard to use.

It's quite expensive (for China) and seems like it will have a steep learning curve...

Looks like Mooer are trying to steal a bit of the Strymon market, which will be interesting.... If this pedal is as cheap comparatively as their others (I'm talking like £80 for this one maybe) then I think it will succeed.

It's about 250 pounds, which is still a great deal imho. 80 is just ridiculous.

Not really, when you consider most of Mooer's other mini pedals are a ridiculous £30 or so... I figured finally cheap Chinese manufacturing was going to revolutionise guitar pedals, but maybe not.....

what an awkward demo to watch. whats the point of having a second dude siting by commenting on each effect, trying to make witty remarks? I watched almost every demo online before I bought this pedal, and now that I own it I was looking for some more "hands on" tutorials on programming. This is not it. it was literally uncomfortable to watch.

Yet another terrible quality mono recording of a stereo ambient pedal. Why even bother?

Guys...please lose the Abbott & Costello routine (look it up). People looking at product review demos want simply-explained info, sounds, a walktrough of features. Not a team comedy duo. Really.
