PLEASE NOTE: This is a carry-on per cruise port regulations. We were not flying to port, we drove, so the liquids did not have to meet TSA regulations.
I love your packing tips!!!! Ok, Will you fly to Dayton, OH on November 15,20.19 to help me and MY Lisa pack for our NCL Breakaway Cruise????? You can bring Jason a day before & we could take you to karaoke or one of our favorite Drag Shows!!?? 😂😂😂😂👍🏽🙌
Before packing shampoo, conditioner, etc. put them in a gallon sized Ziplok or even a plastic grocery bag. This will prevent the product from oozing all over your suitcase if they happen to open up by accident.
What's great about packing cubes...I have a 5 piece set. Tops in one, bottoms in another, bathing suits, etc. in another, underwear in another and misc in the last one. Then when we reach our destination, just put packing cubes in drawers, open zippers and everything is easily accessible and stays neat. No need to remove clothing from cubes and is easy to repack at the end of our trip. We have been using them for 2 years and they are life changing. :)
I use the gallon size Ziploc bags to put my rolled clothes in (instead of packing cubes) and then you can use them for other purposes once you get onboard.
I can appreciate this. I would like to pack lighter, but I like to change into dressier clothing for dinner. I don’t wear my day clothes like shorts for the dining rooms & shows so I tend to take more clothes.
Another trick is i use 2 1/2gallon ziplock bags and they work great too. Place the clothes in there and push all the air out. Saves a lot of room in the luggage.
I have used the ziplock bag method before too. It seems especially helpful for kids. When they were younger I would pack an entire day's outfit including socks and underwear in one bag.
Y'all, listen to the lady - you can do it in a carry-on! My first cruise I WAY over-packed. I did my last one with an airline standard size carry-on, and a little day-bag for when I'm on the ship waiting for my room. That was with formal wear, shoes and everything for 7 days. So nice!!! And less to deal with. Also - if you want to wear heels, only bring one set that match both formal outfits - I find that I never wear them otherwise. Invest in some decent deck shoes though - I've slipped and fallen on both my cruises so far.
My problem with my cute little yellow carryon is that I have camera equipment, and on flights I carry it on of course because its safer, but on a cruise where I drive to the port it goes in my bag, inside of it's padded case. BUT that takes up half the carry on. I am going to try it though when I go in January (maybe because I do have at least two formal nights on this 10 day Princess cruise, and Princess is more strict on the other nights as well)
Excellent tips. Love pods especially for my husband. Helps to keep him organized. The newspaper comes in plastic bags in different colors that will hold one shoe each. I match the color bag for each pair of shoes. Easier to fit one shoe in a side space than two together.
A little tip for younger kids, I roll their entire outfit (top, bottom, underwear) into one big roll, that way they can just pull out an outfit and go, without me having to make sure they're not clashing or going commando. Also, I put my rolls in horizontally so that when I'm moving the suitcase around the rolls don't compact.
Best packing video I’ve seen. You’ve given good add-ons & have actually sold me on the cube. I’m going to try simply packing a carry on for my next 7 day cruise. Your son as a helper was a bonus on this video. I enjoyed him helping with extra info too.
A packing tip we use. We use packing cubes and as we use our clothes, we reroll them and put used clothes back in packing cubes and at the end of the cruise, you don’t have the dreaded packing day. Put packing cubes back in suitcase and your ready to go home.
For evening wear on a cruise, I always brought an elastic waist, long, black skirt made of a no-wrinkle synthetic, stretchy fabric and two or three short-sleeved sparkly (hot fix rhinestones or glue-on sequins) stretchy, synthetic, knit fabric tops. If anything spilled on my evening wear, I could wash it in the bathroom sink and hang it in the shower to drip-dry. I also brought one pair comfortable, medium-heel, t-strap black dress shoes (similar to the character shoes women dancers wear). These were dressy enough for evening yet comfortable for walking the long distance to the dining room, provided stability when the ship was bouncing a bit and good for standing a hour or so at the captain's cocktail party. I usually wore the shoes with black, knee-high stockings so I would not get blisters but not have the discomfort of panty hose. I also always brought a small black evening clutch to hold a packet of tissues, a lipstick and my key card/ship's pass. For jewelry, I brought two pairs of sparkly chandelier earrings. By alternating which top and which earrings I wore, I had two or three different evening looks, the clothing compressed down (rolled and held with rubber bands) to occupy very little space in my suit case and never needed ironing. A plain, black, synthetic knit cardigan from Travel Smith served instead of an evening wrap if it was cold at night and we had to go out on deck to get to the dining room.
This is an awesome video! For shoes, I re-use the plastic bags our newspaper comes in. One pair of shoes per bag...fits perfectly! Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Great video. I'm definitely an over packer. I have 2 outfits per day. One for the daytime and 1 for the evening. I'm trying so hard to cut back but my honey insist we go out for dinner every night and he is a VERY classy dresser. Suits and ties, so you know I have to step out looking nice. But I am down to 5 pair of shoes this trip.
Use a large ziploc bag for all our headache meds, band aids, sewing kit, Dramamine, etc. Ziploc bags are great for packing lunch when you go on excursions.
I have fallen so in love with you guys, such a beautiful couple. I'm binge watching your videos and new to your channel, all of the cruise tips video are excellent. My first cruise is in June on Royal Caribbean and so glad you mentioned that the information provided is mainly for Carnival, but I can definitely use this information for my cruise. I watched a lot of packing videos but none of them are as detailed as yours. Thanks so much, you really helped me, from a first time cruiser!
You are so sweet! I am so glad you found our channel and that we are helping you to prepare for your cruise! Yes, some of the info in Carnival specific because this is what we know best but a lot is for cruising in general. We are planning on sailing with RCCL soon!
@@Forever_yours44 Hi, there. Her tips were wonderful for me. I just returned from my first cruise yesterday. It was a Carnival Cruise (Sensation) and though some friends were saying it was an old ship and I could go on another ship, I LOVED it! I went with a group of 547 line dancers and we rocked! There was so much to do and the Cruise Director, Deon, kept us BUSY. Honestly, I wish I can afford to go cruising once a month!!! I can kick myself for waiting so long, however, I plan on making it up😊😊
I live for packing cubes. You can separate everything easily and keep the room neat. Also keep dirty and clean separate.I also pack fewer bottoms than you do, prob 1 pair of shorts for wet activities (usually a man's swim trunks), 2 shorts to rotate, I bring 3 swimsuits because I'm that person ;-P), all my underwear and sox go into the little cube with the swim stuff. I also bring fewer tops because I always buy at least one tshirt :). Don't forget a hat.
A note on the plug outlets - don't bring ones with extension cords; or surge protectors. But otherwise, yes, they can be a good idea. Cruise ships, especially older ones, tend to only have a few plug sockets available. Older ships didn't account for all the electronics a family might bring when they were built 20 years ago. Also bring regional adapters if you are visiting another continent.
Great video. Excellent tips here and very thought out. The rolling technique and packing cubes are my go to as well. Might I suggest portable covers for your toothbrush to keep them sanitized and not tossed around against other items. There are some with a suction cup that you can stick on to the mirror. Helpful since space is limited in cabin toilets.
I've had some connecting flights in Europe that limit carry on weight to 17 pounds and will require you to both weigh and confirm your carryon conforms to their often smaller size limits. Those failing to meet the limits will be required to pay for checked baggage.
i travel the world on a dime and with a small carry on - 28 days is easy to do. i wear simple mi and match and things that roll and wash easily worst is my gym clothes and usually we send out one load on the ship if we are on 10 days or more. have been on over 70+ cruises
social security is my lucky $$$ hubby has pension retired at 55 years old currently 65 and still going strong.!!! see the world travel safe and enjoy!@@EECCTravels
We went 17 days on cruise with one carry on and one backpack for each of us. Mix and match your tops and bottoms, dresses and tuxedos on formals nights!
Packing cubes are a life saver! I love my packing cubes...i have a set that came with 5 different sized packing cubes. And for my last cruise I over packed😩 half the things I didn’t even use. But now when i pack I only take what is needed. Great detailed video. Thank you.
Your packing videos always seem to amaze me. But thanks to you I've learned how much I need and don't need for a cruise. Gone are my days of multiple suitcases. Yay! Keep the good videos coming. :-)
Thank you! I have whittled down my packing on every cruise we do. At the end of the cruise I see what we didn't wear or use and eliminate it for the next one :)
I wear a lot of dresses! You can get a ton of comfortable summer dresses on Amazon. They look cute, are very versatile, and you're secretly wearing a nightgown everywhere lol But for real..rolled up, top and bottom all together, tons of packing space saved. Jockey skimmies underneath if you're a chunky dunker instead of a skinny dipper ;) Water shoes are an essential for me. I lived on Guam for two years and I love the ocean but I have a healthy respect for things you might step on that will ruin your day. Sandals that can double for elegant night and casual will help too..I love skechers and clarks for that.
Great info! Thank you! We just booked our 1st cruise EVER for 2021. Carnival Horizon. We have 4 girls (poor hubby) they'll be 20, 17, 11 and 9 at the time of cruise, so this is REALLY helpful! 🤗
I love packing cubes. If you choose to, you can open them when you get in your cabin and just place them on the shelf or in the drawer without removing anything. I just fold the top back and under and place them. I have two sets. I still roll my clothes also.
I have been working on being a minimalist cause i have been on 9 cruises and taking my 10th in October. I find that half of the stuff i never use. It started out as a fashion thing ....packing 2 outfits per day. As i got older and atarted having knee problems using a walking cane and at that point had gone on multiple cruises, the light bulb came on. I realize that all this overpacking was stressful and unnecessary. So now i pack what's important and wear it all day instead of changing twice a day. So much better. Great vlog.
+EECC Travels I looked at your packing video again and one question I have is I only noticed one dress for formal night. what did you wear the other nights in the dining room. I don't remember you packing any long pants or maxi dresses.
I wonder if she just wore her daytime clothes for those non-formal night. I do bring 2 sets of clothes because it's my chance to wear my collection of dresses, but I can see why others don't bother.
@@ytclaire2007 me too, I take a different outfit for each day and a different lovely dress for each night, after all you are on holiday and a great chance to glam up.
After you've used packing cubes, you'll never go back. I wasn't sure they would be so useful when I packed using them the first time, either, but having just returned from a cruise last week, and using them, they really are that wonderful:)
We have cruised many times, I really like your ideas. I do use smaller soft containers (bought online) for my shampoo & cream rinse, small hair spray and a foldable straw hat. We always take too much clothes. A sundress works for a few days. saves on shorts and tops.
Your video was very helpful. Thank you so much. Your family is sooo sweet. What wonderful memories you guys are creating together. We love cruising. We cruised together with our girls but now we added some boys to our fam, lol. And so wish us luck on cruising as a much bigger family.
Great video and what a sweet family! Just to note though that it is advisable to not remove seashells from the beach (“leave only footprints” rule). It’s considered now to be damaging to the ecosystem and is illegal in many places. 😉
Brilliant! Im in London. Sitting here trying to pack for New Zealand to see family for 3 weeks plus doing a 1 week cruise whilst there! Great video. Straight to the point so thanks! First time cruiser.
Just a couple little tips from me. I like taking sun dresses. You only have to pack one item for each day. No worries on 7 shorts and 7 tops. Make up... Don't ware any. Your on vacation in the sun and fun. Who needs it. Shoes... Comfy sandals in a neutral color that will go with anything. We don't do formal night..No formal clothing needed. One neutral color sweater. Sleepwear.... 1 nice little nightgown. We enjoy the buffet for most of our meals. I think the food is much better and you can get what ever you want. No dressy clothing needed again. I just ware a sundress. Happy cruising.
Thank you for all the handy tips you give. I actually took your advice in another video about going to the dollar tree and got the battery operated tea lights as a night light and also picked up the hair net/bags. not sure if you use them or not but the one thing I love is the plastic see through tags for the luggage tags, they work really good for those who are flying and have to change their tags but have no way to do it.
Wow you are amazing in packing! Great tips and ideas for a carry-on. I will get me some I do always take first aid, bandages, cough drops, pepto bismol and other medicines in a small zippered bag. Going to get me some packing cubes.
I’ve got a lot of medications for my cancer. I’d love to put them all in one or two weekly pill containers like you have rather than have eight or more pill bottles. Because they are prescribed medicines, do I have to keep them in their bottles or can I do what you do? My husband, daughter and I are going on a cruise to celebrate no more chemo. It will be 14 months of chemo and 7 weeks of radiation I had to go through. I think the cancer is all gone, so this cruise really means a lot to me. My husband wishes I could pack like you do. When he heard of all the gadgets I was going to bring to make our trip easier I could see he wanted to pull his hair. But now I’ve seen how you can pack so much into so little, I am going to try my hardest to get as close as I can. I need sweaters and long pants because I get cold much easier than ever now, and that is my only worry. I’m thinking of taking two sweaters I can wear over my tee-shirts and change around with a sweat jacket. I will take less yoga pants for pj’s too. Oh heck, I can just take the one sweater. See? I am getting better and I haven’t even packed yet. I hope your family had an amazing time on your last cruise. Your young man who helped you pack was an absolute delight. Very helpful and a great personality to boot. I thoroughly enjoyed your video on the gadgets you take to makes your cruise easier and I’m happy you went over a lot of them again in this one. Be well and stay smiling, Ma’iingankwe
Yes, you can definitely put all of your medicine in the daily pill boxes. Thank you for sharing your story with us and I hope that all of the cancer is gone and you have an amazing cruise!!! And you will get the packing down, you are already on your way to cutting down on clothes 😀
EECC Travels Thank you for your quick answer to my question! So awesome! I’m fit to be tied I am so darn excited about this cruise. We even got a great deal on the room one tier down from the captain’s suite and only because they don’t have them on the ship. We are taking this beautiful, young lady who has been there to take me to all of my doctor appointments, radiation day in and day out for seven weeks, and my chemo infusions. She’s also taken me so I could go Christmas shopping and grocery shopping and errands since I can’t drive anymore. She is only 25, and to have one person do so much just ‘because’ is mind blowing and so greatly appreciated. When we told her we wanted her to come over for a talk she had absolutely no idea. I told it was because I had confessed to my husband that she beats me and calls me a dummy. She laughed. She is to sweet to ever do something like that. When asked her if she would go with us as a guest she started crying. Happy tears she said. My husband and I don’t know where we’d have been without her help and unselfishness. Plus, we figured it was only costing us $300 for her to stay in the room and we are using our flight miles and companion airfare deal. So we think we still owe her so much. Oh, and we are paying for her excursion to swim with the dolphins 🐬 . A dream come true she says. I’m writing this to say, there are beautiful people in this country of ours. Their hearts are full of love and compassion. They even pull over the vehicle so we can get sick and carry on as if all is alright with the world. We have some amazing young adults in this country too. Your son is going to be one of them soon. He jumped right in your video and was ever so helpful and kind. We do have a lot of good people in the good ‘ole U.S. of A. Young, old, middle aged, doesn’t matter. They have love in their hearts and are ever so willing to share. Give these people a 🤗 big, ole hug next time they do something nice for you and let them know how much we care about them. Words are powerful. Be well, Ma’iingankwe Okay, all done with my two rants or going ons. I just wanted to speak my heart for a minute or two. My words will be much shorter if there is a next time and it won’t be personal. I just had to let this out and share. Stay smiling, Ma’iingankwe
YOU are an amazing person!!! That is so kind of you to being her along and give her this wonderful experience. It is wonderful that you too have each other. She helped you when you needed her and now you are able to repay the favor with a wonderful vacation ❤️
EECC Travels Thank you, but it is she who is the amazing person. $300 is nothing compared to all of the time she has put in to help us out. But I appreciate your kind sentiment anyways. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge; some of us would be so lost without you and your family. Give them all a hug for us. 🤗 Be well and stay smiling, Ma’iingankwe
Instead of dryer sheets. Have you tried Downey unstoppable? Place Downey in a sachet bag to keep your clothes smelling fresh. Bring a small spray bottle, because you can put some of the downy unstoppable out of the sachet bag. Place inside spray bottle with warm water and shake. Now you have a room air freshener. Everything can be purchased at dollar tree.
Great packing. You pack pretty much like I do. With each cruise, I realize what I can do without. I am going on a 12 night cruise in 2019, so that will be different for me because that is the longest one I have been on. Because I am older, I do not wear shorts at all, just crop pants or sundresses that go past my knees, which makes it nice because with the dresses, I only have to think about one item. Not a top and a bottom. I enjoyed this video because it was like I was packing except I am alone when I travel now. The little thing you have for your toiletries is like the one I have that I picked up in the Salvation Army Store. I think they are really for putting in your purse of bag of some sort, but it works well for my toiletries.
Wow! A 12 night cruise will be amazing!!! It has taken me many trips to get the packing down to this amount and I still didn't wear everything I packed on this cruise! I love that toiletries bag!
I love the shower cap for shoes idea. I have some expensive pairs that came with a drawstring bag for the shoes but some of my less expensive sandals or Amazon finds didn’t come with them so I love your idea. The packing cubes are wonderful. I got a set as a gift prior to my last cruise and I regretted not using it. I’m cruising with my sister in 2/22 so I think I may gift her a set for Xmas or birthday. I use one for undergarments and swimsuits. I wear sundresses daily and find them easy so I don’t have to think of tops and coordinated bottoms. They work well for excursions especially if you don’t know where you may be eating in town. Restaurants may have a dress code and when in a sundress you are good to go. They also will work for dinner in case you experience a wardrobe malfunction and need an outfit in a pinch. I’ve learned to travel with a small travel sewing kit and I make sure I have a few safety pins of varied sizes.
My clothes didn’t take much room. It was all the extra stuff - snorkel, shoes, glow sticks, etc. ☹️that took up all the room. I learned what I used and what I didn’t really need - next year, attempt #2, will go so much better.
Cruising in December for the first time since 2018. Ladies trip with a childhood friend - we're both 50+ years old now ! Just got upgraded to balcony - excited, but will be flying to port - turns out, Tennessee is pretty far from the coast - who knew, lol.
I’ve never took water shoes on a cruise but take them in surfing trips. Never used packing cubes. I bought them but never used them. My God mum taught me to use food bags for each outfit and I’ve done that for things I know I’m putting together. The cubes look like they work. Travel size mouthwash isn’t any use. Command hooks are awesome!!!
Hello I wanted to thank you for all your helpful videos me and my wife are taking our first cruise next month on the freedom and this has really help us prepare for our trip
I just started using packing cubes this last year, and really like them. I haven't flown with them yet, but an added benefit is that if you have to have your bag inspected, they can just pull out each bag individually, and your stuff hopefully won't end up scattered all over the place. :)
I'm honestly impressed you got all that into your carry-on. I didn't think you were going to make it. (Then I thought well, if she didn't, we wouldn't have a video!)
This is a LOT of stuff! Many cruises do not permit shorts in the dining room at night, so I pack skorts instead of shorts - I think that they are more flattering anyway. You can also throw a t-shirt over a strappy sundress and it looks like a skirt and top. Vice versa, you can wear a dressy top with a skort and it looks like a dress. I also bring a light nightgown instead of pjs or yoga pants because I don't want to wear the same pj bottoms for a week - ew. You can bring a light shawl and buy a souvenier sweatshirt if you really get cold. My biggest packing problem was always my husband, who wanted dress shoes AND gym shoes AND sandals - men's shoes are huge and heavy!
This was an awesome video. I was freaking out a bit with all the stuff I need to pack for myself and my toddler. Now I see how to minimize my things to make room for all that he needs. Thanks so much!
another excellent vid! ive been a big proponent for rolling clothes for years - in fact thats how i do my clothes at home in the dresser with the exception of underwear -otherwise everything is rolled woot!
Very helpful packing tips, thanks so much! A packing hack we use, is to pack walkie -talkies, in addition to leaving notes, so we don't always have to go back to the room to check notes (don't need walkies for Disney Cruise, they have the great Wave Phones per stateroom)
Utilize the spaces at the bottom of the suitcase - between the ridges of the telescoping handle. It’s a good place for shoes or that pouch with your undies.
I love packing cubes. I use them for all of us then I just take it out and put it on the shelf and not even take the items out of the cube until I need it. And I honestly use them at home in my daughters dresser to keep her organized.
@@EECCTravels I had just bought some for a girls cruise in September. There will be 3 of us in one room, so I thought it would help with space, any other suggestions? It is usually just me and my husband so 3 women may be scary in one room, lol
Always put the shampoo bottles etc... in ziplock bags. You do not want them to leak inside your suitcase all over your closes. I always put this stuff in a ziplock back and then again. Double up. The mess you prevent will not ruin your trip.
Another great video. I love packing cubes. They're very convenient to put in your suitcase, but as I'm sure you found out by now, they are REALLY helpful when unpacking in your room! I love having different colors for different family members and they are great to put your stuff back in your suitcase as you're done with it. xo
Love the video!!! I recommend Listerine strips instead of liquid. Also bringing only the amount of shampoo and conditioner that you will use during the trip. Seemed excessive even with long hair. lol
Great video! Lots of good information. I just bought packing cubes a few months ago to use on our upcoming cruise. I’ve used them on another trip and love them.
Another tip.You should always bring 2 extra days of clothes just in case. You never know if something bad may happen. You may get stuck in a place and don’t have any clean clothes may have an accident that many females have to go through.Always have an extra change of clothes because you never know what may happen. My grandma taught me that trick. And instead of using shower caps for shoes you can also use plastic bags because most people just have those laying around and you can use those for shoes. You should also put dryer sheets in the shoes if they are shoes that have been worn before and may smell.
Hey it's me your new best friend Blair and I really enjoyed this new packing video "packing 2.0" and the tip about the shower caps was genius I mean who would have thought to use shower caps to go over your shoes what a great tip so thank you for that I will definitely be using that and many more of your tips!*🛳️⚓💙😋📹
EECC Travels I know each and every day I am getting closer and closer to my cruise, I have 128 days to go and oh my God it seems so far away but I know the time will go quickly, I just have to get through most of the summer and you know summer is my favorite season besides Christmas because my birthday is on Christmas Eve okay, but I usually want the summer to last forever but something tells me this summer I'm going to be like hurry up and go summer, because I can't wait until September because everything begins on September 7th when I fly out of LA to Miami and then began my cruise on September 8th, I can't wait and Trust I will be watching all of your videos and using all of your tips okay that part!*🛳️⚓💙
Nice video- We are taking a 7 day cold weather cruise and I'll probably only pack 5 days of everyday changes and use merino wool base shirts everyday since they can be worn forever without problems. The dollar store shower cap for shoes is genius!
I never carry more than one carry on bag and one tote bag she. I travel. I went to Europe for 3 weeks last year, going from Berlin to Madrid in September, so temps ranged from decidedly chilly to quite warm. My carryon is a normal size, and my tote is pretty large, but can double as a purse. In the carryon I packed: 14 pairs of leggings ( leggings are really versatile and roll up about the size of your fist and double as pants or under a skirt as stockings), three skirts, 5 short sleeved shirts, 3 long sleeved shirts, 3 dresses (one warmer, 2 lightweight) , 1 pr sandals, 1 pr dress shoes, , 2 prs stockings & 5 prs knee his (double as socks and take up a whole lot less room),1 pr warm socks, and 1 large silk shawl for cooler dressy nights, and a zip up hoodie that doubles as a sweater or jacket. I wore leggings with comfy walking shoes, a short sleeved shirt,, and a lightweight rainproof jacket to travel. In the tote bag: 2 quart size baggies containing 10 prs underwear, 3 bras, 2 prs stockings, 5 prs knee high stockings, and 1 pr warm socks; a dressy clutch purse containing my non liquid makeup, toothbrush, medications, and a small hair brush. A quart sized baggie containing face cleaning and moisturizing wipes, and another for liquid makeup, travel sized tooth paste, and eye drops; my cell phone and iPad. Once I got off the plane I added a bottle of sunscreen. Shampoo and conditioner I got in the hotel rooms. In the inside zippered pocket of my tote I had my wallet and passport. There was actually room in my tote to bring back a few souvenirs. I am going on a cruise in September from Alaska to Japan, and will probably pack much the same way, except I will eliminate one dress, and add a couple of bathing suits.
Love this video, I think you covered about everything. I use packing cubes and they have made my packing more efficient. When the cube is full that's my flag for ENOUGH clothes, works great. Loved your video on the pixel photo packages, you are so helpful and I look forward to your next one.
I always over pack, I really try not to. Our 2nd cruise this year will be our 6th one. I took a plastic shoe rack to hang on the door to put all kinds of itwms into it for easy access. We gave the last one to our room stuard on the ship they were very happy because they have very limited space. I hope to learn to pack lighter. I always buy a shirt at the Del Sol shop during every cruise. I have always brought a dress for dress up photos..... but I do not think that I am goung to do that on the next trip. I never buy the photos and nice slacks will work just as well for fine dining meal. Its my vacation I'm doing my comfort zone!!
You can do it! It took me a couple of trips to get it right but I have packing down now. This is how I pack for all of our trips! Awesome! Which are your favorites???
PLEASE NOTE: This is a carry-on per cruise port regulations. We were not flying to port, we drove, so the liquids did not have to meet TSA regulations.
I love your packing tips!!!! Ok, Will you fly to Dayton, OH on November 15,20.19 to help me and MY Lisa pack for our NCL Breakaway Cruise????? You can bring Jason a day before & we could take you to karaoke or one of our favorite Drag Shows!!?? 😂😂😂😂👍🏽🙌
EECC Travels Hi what size is your floral suit vase and who makes it
Do you know the size on inches?
Before packing shampoo, conditioner, etc. put them in a gallon sized Ziplok or even a plastic grocery bag. This will prevent the product from oozing all over your suitcase if they happen to open up by accident.
I learned this the hard way with purple shampoo one time!
Yes indeed! Been there! 😯
I've watched a bunch of packing videos - this was the most complete I've ever seen! Very good job!
Thanks so much June!!!
I have used this method before as well.

Fantastic idea

I have used the ziplock bag method before too. It seems especially helpful for kids. When they were younger I would pack an entire day's outfit including socks and underwear in one bag.
Pamela Thomas thank you!!
Those big liquid soap items can go in big zip too. Saves on accidental spills through entire case.
Pamela Thomas good idea but that's a waste of plastic just to save maybe a few inches of room
I do the same thing and it works just perfectly!
I have the world's biggest sea shell collection. I keep it scattered across beaches all over the world so others can enjoy it too.
And that way everyone can have that collection.
I am going to try it though when I go in January (maybe because I do have at least two formal nights on this 10 day Princess cruise, and Princess is more strict on the other nights as well)
I took an overhead bin carry on and an under the seat sized carry on. Was plenty for 7 days!
So satisfying to watch this level of organization!! I love my packing cubes.
Love this! This is what I did for the boys when they were going to camp when they were younger.
Your son is precious, what a helpful young man. This has been such a blessing to me, thank you so much!
Thanks so much and we are glad to help!
Next cruise I'm going to really try my hardest to not bring 14 outfits, 10 pairs of shoes and half my bathroom...
NolaBaby83 😂
Wow lol that's totally over packing!
@@cindygomez5414 🤦🏽♀️I know...
@@lisas2538 I gotta do better...
NolaBaby83 This comment spoke to me lol. Just going away for one night to anywhere I need a big bag ,mostly cause of toiletries and makeup.
This is a fantastic idea! I have never thought of those kind of shoes, I usually bring flats for comfort. Love this!
Mz. Vee Prince Lover have fun on your cruise I always get excited for 1st time cruisers!!!
leemah beemah thanks much!
I agree!! I love this family & all their tips!!
Shower caps for packing shoes. I can't believe I've never heard of that before. What a great solution. Thanks so much!
God bless you for packing for the whole fam! Love your channel....just found you guys! I may try the packing cubes...I tend to be an over packer!
Love your son's involvement!
Your son was so cute in the video. I have two teenage sons and can sooooo relate. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you! I am blessed with such sweet teenage boys ❤️
I've had some connecting flights in Europe that limit carry on weight to 17 pounds and will require you to both weigh and confirm your carryon conforms to their often smaller size limits. Those failing to meet the limits will be required to pay for checked baggage.
Your videos has really helped this first time cruiser. Everything so detailed. So happy I stumbled upon your page.
I am so glad you found our channel and that you enjoyed this video!
i travel the world on a dime and with a small carry on - 28 days is easy to do. i wear simple mi and match and things that roll and wash easily worst is my gym clothes and usually we send out one load on the ship if we are on 10 days or more. have been on over 70+ cruises
Wow, 70 cruises!!! You definitely know how to do it!!! #LifeGoals
social security is my lucky $$$ hubby has pension retired at 55 years old currently 65 and still going strong.!!! see the world travel safe and enjoy!@@EECCTravels
We went 17 days on cruise with one carry on and one backpack for each of us. Mix and match your tops and bottoms, dresses and tuxedos on formals nights!
Thanks for the tip about keeping the mouthwash bottle sealed.
Packing cubes are a life saver! I love my packing cubes...i have a set that came with 5 different sized packing cubes. And for my last cruise I over packed😩 half the things I didn’t even use. But now when i pack I only take what is needed. Great detailed video. Thank you.
You learn by trial and error what you need and what you don't. I have whittled down my packing a little more each time.
I really liked them and am considering getting a set for each person.
Great vlog.
Yes, definitely less is better in our family and sounds like that is best for you too!
@@boltnut55 same. I wouldn't feel comfortable just wearing same thing I've been wearing all day, especially if just shorts and t shirts...
I love how organized this is
We have cruised many times, I really like your ideas. I do use smaller soft containers (bought online) for my shampoo & cream rinse, small hair spray and a foldable straw hat. We always take too much clothes. A sundress works for a few days. saves on shorts and tops.
Great video! I also carried on bungee cords in case I wanted to keep the balcony slider open. Thanks for sending your tips via email so quickly!
Those bungee cords can come in handy! Glad you received the tips :)
why bungee cords???
Your video was very helpful. Thank you so much. Your family is sooo sweet. What wonderful memories you guys are creating together. We love cruising. We cruised together with our girls but now we added some boys to our fam, lol. And so wish us luck on cruising as a much bigger family.
Thank you so much and enjoy your cruise with your bigger family!!
Your son makes this video real fun!! He is a joy to watch!❤❤
Thanks so much Maria!
I bring 2 pairs of blue jean shorts with tops ..1 pair of white with top...wear jeans on ship and same off with 2 different tops.
Oh that's great that you are finding these videos helpful! I hope you have a great cruise!
Be well and stay smiling,
Ma’iingankwe
Yes, you can definitely put all of your medicine in the daily pill boxes. Thank you for sharing your story with us and I hope that all of the cancer is gone and you have an amazing cruise!!! And you will get the packing down, you are already on your way to cutting down on clothes 😀
EECC Travels
Thank you for your quick answer to my question!
Be well,
Ma’iingankwe
Okay, all done with my two rants or going ons. I just wanted to speak my heart for a minute or two. My words will be much shorter if there is a next time and it won’t be personal. I just had to let this out and share.
Stay smiling,
Ma’iingankwe
YOU are an amazing person!!! That is so kind of you to being her along and give her this wonderful experience. It is wonderful that you too have each other. She helped you when you needed her and now you are able to repay the favor with a wonderful vacation ❤️
EECC Travels
Thank you, but it is she who is the amazing person. $300 is nothing compared to all of the time she has put in to help us out. But I appreciate your kind sentiment anyways.
Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge; some of us would be so lost without you and your family. Give them all a hug for us. 🤗
Be well and stay smiling,
Ma’iingankwe
Cubes are great when travelling with babies and toddlers
I think you will find that when you are on the trip, having clothes in a cube or bag organized is the one advantage to packing cubes.
I loved your idea about the shoes in shower caps!! Love it!
Thanks for the video!
Glad to help!
Thanks for including the demo of your husband's and sons' gear. Guy stuff is bulkier, and so many videos don't accommodate that.
I had noticed that too so I wanted to make sure to include them. Glad to help!
Hello I wanted to thank you for all your helpful videos me and my wife are taking our first cruise next month on the freedom and this has really help us prepare for our trip
Hey Tony! I am so glad to hear that our videos are helping you get ready for your first cruise!!! I hope you have a wonderful time!
Tony D did you like the freedom? We are going on our first cruise in two weeks on the freedom. I know it just got out of dry dock for remodel.
I just started using packing cubes this last year, and really like them. I haven't flown with them yet, but an added benefit is that if you have to have your bag inspected, they can just pull out each bag individually, and your stuff hopefully won't end up scattered all over the place. :)
That is so true, I’ve not thought of that benefit.
I'm honestly impressed you got all that into your carry-on. I didn't think you were going to make it. (Then I thought well, if she didn't, we wouldn't have a video!)
Great video! We’ve been on 18 cruises and always had issues with packing. We plan to use your tips our next cruise in 15 Days. Thank you again 🚢😁💖
🥰enjoyed this video so much, your son is adorable. Can tell he is raised with so much love.🥰
You are the packing MVP!!!!! Thank you!
YES! Rolling is king in my packing world :)
Great tip! Thanks for adding!
I love packing cubes. I use them for all of us then I just take it out and put it on the shelf and not even take the items out of the cube until I need it. And I honestly use them at home in my daughters dresser to keep her organized.
This was my first time using them and I really did like them! It was nice to be even one more step organized!
@@EECCTravels I had just bought some for a girls cruise in September. There will be 3 of us in one room, so I thought it would help with space, any other suggestions? It is usually just me and my husband so 3 women may be scary in one room, lol
Shower cap over shoes! Brilliant!
Love love the shower cap tip! Thanks so much!
You have a nice personality in doing your video. Thanks for all the good tips.
Thanks so much Gail!
Water shoes are life changing
Always put the shampoo bottles etc... in ziplock bags. You do not want them to leak inside your suitcase all over your closes. I always put this stuff in a ziplock back and then again. Double up. The mess you prevent will not ruin your trip.
I wear undershirts under everything too, I just feel more comfy that way. Love this!
Us Southern girls understand the need for a extra layer in the heat...
EECC Travels yes lol! 😂
Another great video. I love packing cubes. They're very convenient to put in your suitcase, but as I'm sure you found out by now, they are REALLY helpful when unpacking in your room! I love having different colors for different family members and they are great to put your stuff back in your suitcase as you're done with it. xo
I am still getting used the packing cubes, but I really like them so far!
Thank you so much for this video very informative. Your son is so sweet.
Love the video!!! I recommend Listerine strips instead of liquid. Also bringing only the amount of shampoo and conditioner that you will use during the trip. Seemed excessive even with long hair. lol
I'd have to agree. I also have long hair and I bring 2 travel sized shampoo and 1 conditioner and it's plenty.
Great video! Lots of good information. I just bought packing cubes a few months ago to use on our upcoming cruise. I’ve used them on another trip and love them.
Thank you! just packed for my cruise on Saturday on Anthem of the Seas! your packing tips really helped.
Great video. I usually use my medium suitcase. In 24 days I’m tryin my packing cubes & carry-on suitcase
Yay, I'm glad our tips are helping you! You're one day closer to your cruise :)
That’s a old tip 😊
I would have put my shampoo, conditioner, and mouthwash in a Ziploc bag so it won't leak on my clothes if it opened accidentally.
If you use the straps in the suitcase it may compress ac little bit further.
Excellent Cruise tips for Travel and very helpful. Thank you so much!!!
Great packing video. I am going to try and see if I can get by with just a carry on. I am a big fan of packing cubes.
Love this video, I think you covered about everything. I use packing cubes and they have made my packing more efficient. When the cube is full that's my flag for ENOUGH clothes, works great. Loved your video on the pixel photo packages, you are so helpful and I look forward to your next one.
Hey Carrie! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos! Sounds like we think a like when it comes to packing :)
I do think 2 or 3 pairs of shorts are sufficient because you can wear them two or 3 times with different shirts.
Thanks for this tutorial. First cruise; new to packing.
Love how you pack, can't imagine packing in a carryon for a 7 night :). I see we have the same reading interests :)
You can do it! It took me a couple of trips to get it right but I have packing down now. This is how I pack for all of our trips!
Awesome! Which are your favorites???
I love Tudor history and most historical fiction. I also love cozy mysteries :).
Karen Carter, we have pack for a 7 day cruise with just backpacks.
I wish I could pack like you! Just can’t do it but great tips!!!
Omg you are awesome I'm taking myself and my two kids to Mexico in November for my 31 birthday and this helped a lot😍😍 I'm so excited😁😁
What music is playing during your rolling and packing sequence? I love it! We're going on our first cruise *today* and I'm SO excited!!! :-)
Congrats! How was it? Which line did you go on?
