To be honest: ChatGPT scares me a bit. I see its possibilities, but especially when it comes to programming, I hope that in the near future there will not be a flood of superficial programs created by ChatGPT. On the other hand, I also see its potential. I hope it will make it easier to find specific solutions to programming problems, which often takes way too much time. This will probably become my personal focus when working with ChatGPT.
I've found it helpful in developing and/or understanding algorithms more than I have in writing specific code, though I am currently writing a compiler with ChatGPT's assistance and it's been interesting so far. I did use it to help me with researching some things we need to start implementing in work projects and I got research that would have normally taken a week done in about 2 hours, so that was nice.

A friend of mine many years ago (before rubber duck debugging was popularised) told me his company had a mannequin in the corner of the room and when you hit a problem you had to go and "Tell the mannequin". Just the act of putting the question into words often solved it and if it didn't, then at least you had a well-formed question to put to your colleagues.
