a note for the editor: sound is a bit off, lots of background noise and voice seems smothered/muddy...also the music is a bit loud too... maybe high pass filter the voice channel to boost the 3-6k range and reduce the bg noise?
My top 5 favorite sandwiches in no particular order: 1. BLT - pure and simple 2. Reuben - my personal favorite 3. Fried chicken thigh with lettuce, pickle, and mayo 4. Sausage egg and cheese on brioche - links over patties 5. Steak sandwich - cold and sliced, served with horseradish cream, red onion, and arugula
Yes my brother, increase the peace! Wish you had a resurant or something and took trainee chefs or something on, your passion for the food is unbelievable
We have a German deli near by that makes it with sweet kraut on request. Sweet kraut is made with apple cider so it's just slightly sweet and fresher tasting. They don't use russian dressing unless you ask because they're old Germans. It comes with mayo and German mustard on THICK sliced beef. The fat slices make for a stable sandwich. They will add an egg onto most of their sandwiches if you want.
If you're in the area, the Crescent Moon Ale House in Omaha Nebraska makes a mean Reuben and it is located across the street from the historic Blackstone Hotel where the Reuben sandwich was invented.
Speaking about sandwiches, I remember in my high school years there was this sandwich joint near school. They had this unique sandwich - bub sliced into three - lower layer with Russian salad (Olivier) and upper layer with pan cooked chicken liver with onion. It was so amazing...
Top five sandwiches for me: Banh Mi Montreal smoked meat/Reuben (it's a toss-up) Tuna salad BLT The fried chicken sandwich from a little local spot in my hometown called L'Autochtone
My fav: left over dark turkey, fresh made orange/cranberry, swiss on fresh marble or reg rye. Then left over roast beef, back yard mater, red onjun, avocado on sour dough.
Hey Busker! First thanks for all the amazing content. Glad to see you back. I don't mean to be rude but I wanted to bring to your attention the fact that on the street bench shot your lav is only on the left channel. You can easily fix it in post making the shot mono. If you have any problems or questions about audio feel free to reach out to me it's my job and I would love an opportunity to contribute. Thanks again. Have a wonderful day.
The only one I tried was in Shanghai and I found it very good. But I don't know how it would compare to the ones in NY, Montreal or London. Definitely going to try it if I have the occasion.
That Reuben sandwich looks great. If I had to pick my top 5 sandwiches they would be the following, and in no particular order. 1) A good ham and cheese sandwich. 2) Roast beef sandwich, with au jus. 3) Egg salad sandwich. 4) Bacon sandwich with HP sauce. 5) Reuben. Cheers! #IncreaseThePeace ✌
Katz's is good in new York. Very expensive and very touristy. I've just read about a place called Mile End Deli which is supposed to be better. Will check it out later this year
Luscious as always John. Could you consider doing something on Dan Dan noodles? I reckon it qualifies as a cult food and when done right, to quote somebody else, is better than crack.
The Reuben in Katz in NY is amazing. Apparently Monti's deli in London is now shut down. Damn! The one I make at home is ok but not great. Where else in London serves a Reuben?
Baguette Mayo, w/ lime Bacon, crispy Ham, lean Cheese, 1,5-2yr no mold Tomatoes, cocktail Red onion, sum rings Avocado, sliced Pinch o' salt Lightly stroke inside with garlic vinaigrette You're welcome
Top 5 sandwiches in my opinion - A real Philly cheesesteak - Salt beef bagel, extra mustard - lobster roll - Reuben - the Joe’s from Lenwich nyc Edit : honourable mentions - Meatball Sub - chopped cheese - chicken, bacon, avocado & choice of vegetables
I've eaten both the Reuben sandwiches at Katz's in New York and Monty's in London. Katz's is definitely on another level. Although it is almost twice the price, but also bigger. Monty's was decent I'd go back, but I wish there we somewhere like Katz's in London, even at that ridiculous price point of ~$22 a sandwich.
What a great video. I love Reuben sandwiches, like a unnatural love, so much as to where if I go to a new restaurant I will try their version to find out if it is good as to see if we ever go to that restaurant again. We have allot of places that make them here near where I live in Michigan, I even did a video about my take on a Reuben burger sandwich. #IncreaseThePeace
But here it's served giant style, open faced, use a knife and fork. Can get a side of crunchy rye toast along with - to make a side sandwich for first bites
The best Reuben in London, by far, is Reubens in Baker Street. I worked two doors down for years and had lunch there every day, for this Jew, it's the best hands down.
I’ve had a few goo rubins in my day last yr driving’s up from ftvFort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach I got off in Boca Raton and suck on a federal highway stopped a place called Dalian Rite on Federal highway had one of the best corn beef sandwiches to you that I can imagine how shocked I was out in the middle of nowhere has stopped there on the way back to the airport to
Sorry sir, if you have never been to Katz's in NYC, you have missed an experience!!! State side, if you want to duplicate this at home, THE ABSOLUTE BEST corned beef in America is made by Mosey's of Bloomfield, CT USA. By marriage I am in a Jewish family. They are totally correct when they say "Katz's has to use Mosey's." No, Katz's does their own. The flavor between both of them is so slight, if you were blindfolded you could not tell the difference. And to end this note for all your subscribers, if you are ever in Connecticut and want to purchase the most outstanding corned beef, check out pretty much any chain supermarket in the greater Hartford area. They pretty much all carry Mosey's. Bon appetit!
Hey Bru-vuh! Top five sandwiches in no particular order (because the one I want at any given moment depends on the one I'm jones'en for). 1. Reuben 2. Smoked Pulled Pork Memphis Style 3. Philly Cheesesteak from Geno's IN PHILLY (no pretenders please) 4. Peanut Butter and Banana (Thank ya...thank ya very much) 5. Fried bologna with mustard and white onion (also an over medium if it's for breakfast) (I can already hear the haters on this one. Don't care) Glad to see you back. BUSK ON!!!
You are too f@#king right about how hard it is to find a good reuben in the UK. If it weren't for the Polish section of the supermarket, even finding good rye and sauerkraut would be a chore (I thought I might have some luck with kraut in Aldi, being a German chain, and the dude there had no idea what I was asking for!). Can't wait for my trip to visit my family in Florida this coming week, there is a deli/restaurant that makes a killer reuben I always go to when there.
This makes me happy. The Reuben is my favourite sandwich ever and any time I visit the states if I see one on a menu, I order without fail. I stumbled across Monty’s a while back and was really pumped to find I could get a Reuben in London. I wasn’t disappointed, they’re absolutely on point!
Good to see your back in full swing , have really been enjoying this latest series, hoping you're in a good space.
a note for the editor: sound is a bit off, lots of background noise and voice seems smothered/muddy...also the music is a bit loud too... maybe high pass filter the voice channel to boost the 3-6k range and reduce the bg noise?

Leocaprio Dinardo Pretty sure it’s meant to be like that, you jabroni!

Diaspora of Ashkenazi Jews moved from eastern Europe brought the Rueben? I didn't know that. They use a Scottish beef, sounds good.
I don’t like that thick-sliced Katz’s style thing. Gotta go Sarge’s in midtown, or Michael’s in Brookline, Massachusetts.
The best sandwich ever. But need some proper marble rye
