Great job covering this event Jason. It gives a good overview for anyone who has ever considered participating in a backgammon tournament. I am sure there are many good players who are out there wishing to attend their first tournement, but perhaps a bit nervous about the act of actually doing it. These type of videos help. However, there are a few times, that you use terms that people may not know, like Super Jackpot. What is a Super Jackpot, how is it different from the rest of the tournament? What is at stake? The same goes for "doubles" or "chouettes". Just want to make you aware that you are talking to a lot of beginners in your videos, so whenever you are talking about new terms please take a moment to explain. We are all learning together! Keep up the great work.

I suggest you play in the advanced in Chicago. They have a Swiss format so you will be guaranteed more games. Plus you're too good to play in the novice anyway. That's more for people who are just learning the game and are new to the rules.

I’m hoping to play in a higher division later this year (potentially Madison or Minnesota) My wife is going to be joining for Chicago and she’s going to play as well so we’re planning on making a fun time of it for our first tournament together. I also want to focus on novice for this first one so I can make a video about it and hopefully get beginners interested in attending tournaments for the first time.
