Fun fact, this isn't Kikyou's first appearance. Way back in MPP, one of the endings had Mitama and Tenmu bring up that they are 2 of Japan's 3 great Vengeful spirits, and briefly wonder where the third: Taira no Masakado ended up, before cutting to Satori and Okuu being stuck dealing with a decapitated head with purple curls and a red bow very pissed off by the inherent lack of her body. I'm assuming this form is just a suit of armor being moved by magic
@@popcioslav Kikyou no Mae, specifically. After Masakado's death, she took his head, and several personal artifacts, and attempted to bury them in his homeland, but she died on the journey. Her regrets about her failure, and the regrets within the artifacts, merged together and created the vengeful spirit that we see in the game.
Her theme has the same pacing as Mitama's, similar instrumentations as Mitama's and An's themes, and she has a Himemiko-like attack in Stage 6. This game takes a lot of inspiration from past Wanwan music games, other than the obvious callbacks to Subtereanian Animism
yea I agree to an extent. They should aim to have less cheapshots in their future games, but YEA it'd be kinda weird to just change the game's difficulty after release like that
It's bad design. Sure, it doesn't really matter after your first time through the game, but the telegraphs for fast attacks really should be more clearly visible.
@@HouraisanKaguya I think the telegraphing is a bit of an issue in this game since it makes the learning process take longer because of the telegraphing being unclear as opposed to a competent design choice. I figured "cheapshot" would include fast patterns or fairies spawning from odd areas, neither of which I'd consider bad design.
Bullets that are cheaply shot out and purposefully set so that they don't give player much enough time to react, whether it's impossible or not. so you're likely not gonna be able to dodge it the first time you experience it and likely gonna have to remember where they'll come out and where they'll go and use the memory to pass it next round you play.
"Hey Wanwan, what do you have for us this time?"
"How many anime openings have you heard in your lifetime?"
0:07-0:15 This chord progression is so deceitful yet amazing at the same time.

She originally was based of Masakado, but I think she's now Masakado's former mistress or something like that.
It feels like a MPP song, even

Technically she first appeared in MPP so it checks out...
I thought "Acting while in pieces" was Set's thing.
神曲すぎる

Play lenen. Those stages are full of "memorize or bomb" moments
Ifkr? Even EMS was pretty cheap despite its outright primitve danmaku, jesus
@@saj9972 i love len'en but i will admit it has..... Issues
@@RealityMasterRogue that it does.... that it does :/
amd bpohc hundred folds everything, but also like it's the good way kind of bad because you can literally destroy the game several ways and it's Fun
I bet she's good at dewrinkling clothes bc she can turn herself into _iron_
I don't really think this boss has a whole lot of cheapshots... I really don't.

Actually please don't.
Don't fix what ain't broken :P

It's pretty easy to fix the cheapshots without changing the patterns. The telegraphs just need to be more clear. Less transparent.
Anime theme Touhou vibes 💜
R. P. Genocraft stupid autocorrect, I didn’t mean to put “don’t” aaaaaaaaaa
This song reminds me of Housamo for some reason

Whats the meaning od cheapshots?

it's also debatable to be "very hard" instead of "cheapshot" in some cases, like mystia's last spell.
but in this game it's obvious.
