There's 120 teeth on that rear cog and it's working just as it would have done back in the day. The master clock sends a pulse to the slave clocks every 30 seconds - so the hand will move twice in a single minute. The button press on the 'box of magic' is the daylight savings one hour advance. @quest, would it have been so hard to mention electric-clocks.co.uk
Maybe that is the daylight saving mode (adjust) in operation, but they clearly didn’t notice the speed it was running, or understand how it worked. They were enjoying the tick of the ‘second’ beat without noticing the speed of the hands.
@@broadpete Correct, It is the daylight savings hour advance in operation. Once the hands have made a full rotation the clock resumes as normal pulsing twice a minute as the master would have done. The unit he is referring to is a slave driver and is purpose-built for these types of clocks. I'm sure he would have explained off-camera how they work - It's all very simple if you know.
@@warleygapmedia9752 Thank you for the mention. TV producers just want to see action and at that point Bo had only just got the driver set up properly, and yes once setup Bo used the advance 1 hour option to demonstrate the clock working (both sides at the same time) mark www.electric-clocks.co.uk
Why on earth didn't the restorer scrape back to clock face to the original roman numerals and the paint them black as they were originally manufactured? The clock would have been worth more...in keeping the new numbers it looks like a half cocked job. What was he thinking? To me is not worth its paotentail value had it been restored to look like its original design.
Any one notice what's wrong with this restoration, watch the big hand when he turns it on for Rob, Bo has fixed the big hand to second hand movement of the clock also when it is ticking it's half a second out which makes every 30 seconds on the clock 1 minute and every minute on the clock 2 minutes, what a bad repair on getting that wrong, it's the first thing he's restored wrong never take anything to Bo hare
The talent of these restorationists is amazing!
My late Father was a French Furniture polisher. So I love any restoration.
Love the work these guys do restoring old heratige...
@Jennefer Bernucho Thanks! Also Tubi is a good free movie app too...
@Torin Lukas I'll have to have a look! Cheers for the tip...
Beautiful work! Cheers 🍻 mate!
We are lucky here in the US. Our power comes in 60cps making powering electric clocks a bit easier.

Absolutely follow your Gut ! KUDOS 👏 ❤️
"keeps perfect time"? Err, not quite. It's doing 30secs every real second. Not difficult to sort but can't believe no one spotted it.
i thought the hour hand was moving faster. I think they were just happy to see it run and didn't notice

If that is a station clock - there should be an Ivory plate with a number on it. We saw a glimpse early on. Should be traceable

I don't get it. What was the goal ?
Rob Cain has a very fascinating dialect. What's the origin?
East Yorkshire, possibly the city of Hull or nearby, I think.
Who is the Drew replacement?!
We like bonkers.
