Endometrial Polyp
- The postmenstrual period (follicular phase) is best for evaluating polyps
- Polyp can mimic endometrial hyperplasia
- Single, uniform, and echogenic mass in the endometrial cavity
- Endometrial fluid may surround the polyp
- A thin stalk (pedicle) connecting the polyp to the endometrium
- Feeding artery sign: Visualization of a single vascular pedicle (artery) supplying the endometrial polyp on doppler.
- Interrupted mucosa sign: the endometrial stripe is focally interrupted by the polyp, which appears as a focal echogenic mass within the endometrial cavity.
- Bright edge sign: Bright, echogenic edge or rim around an endometrial polyp

Greetings! Most Welcome!
Thank you Dr Sam
Most Welcome!
To think that I misdiagnosed a polyp for submucous myoma, a day before watching this video. 😢 Thanks!
Wouldn't a myoma be hypoechoic and that would differentiate it from polyp?
@@kalyaniagrawal8708 yeah that's right. I've just never seen a polyp on ultrasound before now. That's why I could get the diagnosis right.
@@EdidiongFrank ok...I too saw it for the first time few years back, and was able to diagnose it Bec of rim of fluid surrounding it and it's feeding vessel...it's ok, small mistakes happen..
@@kalyaniagrawal8708 yeah right but the one I saw was only slightly hyperechoic without any associated fluid.
Mine doctor, I through respect
