Awesome Video Huddison!! For the ILS approach, I'd suggest that if you're below glideslope, you can add power. The auto-pilot will maintain heading and such, but there is no auto-throttle. Therefore, maintain your glideslope with throttle as needed on descent. Love your work man! 😎
Thank you so much for all of your videos Huddison. I am fairly new to MSFS - just a few days on the Xbox series X. Now I have been following your back to basics videos and they have been extremely useful in getting me up and running. I have gotten to the point where I can take off and land sort of safely, not perfect but at least I no longer end up on the lid 😅 I can set the vertical ceiling and set up a route on the G1000 (C172) and get the AP to follow the route. Where I am having difficulties is transferring those skills to other aircraft. In particular I jumped into the Cubcrafter Xcub with, I think, the G3X ?? and I’m all at sea. I could not get the AP GPS to lock on to a route, it wouldn’t level at the vertical ceiling, just went sailing through that, and where have all the buttons gone ?? There was 2 x RPM counters, one of which followed the throttle setting and the other went to max RPM and kept flashing a red alert. So question is do you already have a video covering the basics for other variants of the Garmin units ? I can see other UA-camrs videos but unfortunately they mostly end up up way too complex way too early for me to get a handle on it. Anyhow thank you so much for your videos, they are a godsend for me 😊
@@Huddisonhey thank you for responding so quickly and yes, that would be an awesome idea for a video 😊 I have to say I am totally blown away by the quality of the sim on the Xbox, I’m having a ball on it ! Anyhow thank you so much, cheers from NZ
Always a pleasure watching your videos 😊 I only wish I had thought to get my notebook out and keep some notes to help recall all of the great information.. my ol' brain is struggling to keep it all available lol. When you said you pressed your 'B' button to get the altitude above sea level correct what is that button actually mapped to? i.e. what command do I search for to bind something to it or is there dashboard button/knob I could use instead?
Hi Huddison do you have a video on basic navigation? , I’ve been flying so many aircraft with glass cockpits and just following the line to destination!
Thanks for the great teaching videos! I have 2 questions. 1. How does ATC affect your previously set VNAV if their assigned altitude is lower than your waypoints? Doesn't VNAV activate at the first TOD? 2. Why is it that sometimes after programing a flight plan, my PFD shows LOC1 and the CDI softkey won't let me switch to GPS? I have many more questions, but I'll save them for another day lol. Thanks so much!!
While I have learnt a lot from your videos I was wondering if you would consider doing a comprehensive video on B747(AUA23) Auto Pilot,Altitude,Heading,Speedand ILS landing.
Pls be very careful using VS in climb in an underpowered AC such as the C172. I am transtioning from six Pac steam gages into the G1000 and the GFC700 In full size AC with older not so capable AP's that have other ways to climb that need ones attention to AS. Best to use FLC at a specific ROC like VY or better to ensure the AC AP will not continue to climb at a VS that it's power is not able to maintain, and fly you into an aerodynamic stall.

I may have briefly touched on other Garmin systems in one or two videos, but it might be a good idea to make a more detailed video on them.

Hey, James! Thanks for answering my question. I feel like a celebrity. My wife will be so impressed. Well, probably not, but thanks anyway.
It was a great question ;)
Great presentation. Thanks

It should be something like reset Altimeter.
Very helpful.. thank you !
You're welcome!

I have one or two in my playlists.
@@Huddison Thanks will check them out some time, It’s nice to learn the basics, it gets quite boring in the glass cockpits sometimes.

Jump onto our Discord and we can answer your question in more depth.
If I don't use keyboard, is there another way to check my alt. above sea level. Many thanks.
Yes, search for 'SET ALTIMETER' (under Flight Instruments) and set a button on your controller for that.
Huddison how do you do the eyetracker ?
I use this: ua-cam.com/video/lO_bIxw5Ff8/v-deo.html
Why does my G1000 screen on the right g keep jogging on and off but the left screen stays on??
Difficult to say; are you flying with FS2020 or FS2024 (& Xbox or PC)?
How to enter a Bravo air space airport? From the top too the floor restrictions

No promises, but maybe in the future.
What is the proper configuration at departure for the GFC 700 AP?
