Hello, I would like to correct some information you gave us about Appwrite when you said that "Appwrite uses a NoSql database", I would like to clarify that it does not use a NoSql database but a Sql database which is MariaDB (I think) and that it gives the user a NoSql API, so you have the ease of use of a NoSql API and the power of a SQL database.
Appwrite now supports messaging and as a result push notifications as well. I'm still hesitant to use it as they do not support postgres yet though.
Loving your videos :) thanks a lot for your content
Thank you ! Very insightful
Nice info presentation and thanks for summarising it in proper way which many dont do. For me supabase and directus are currently best foss solutions :-)
Pocketbase is 10/10
Those tables are insightful
Nice!!! =)
Appwrite ❤
Doesn't Parse have realtime with Live Queries?
PocketBase❤
thanks ad firebase vs supabase vs nodeja in cost time in speed
Strapi vs Directus
Is pocketbase for me..supabase is not free
supabase can be self hosted, as with pocketbase
No hasura?
Whats this about ....let me look it up
MY PROJECT DOUBTS:
(PHOTO SHARING WEB APPLICATION WITH FACE RECOGNITION FEATURE)
PLANNING IN:
Next JS
TypeScript
A) Which Database is cheaper ?
1) Firebase
2) Supabase
3) MangoDB
4) GraphQL
5) MySql
6) Appwrite
B) Which Storage is cheaper ?
1) AWS S3 Buckets
2) Cloudinary
3) CloudFlare R2
C) Should I need node/express server side coding when I use Next.JS ?
D) Can I deploy my Photo Sharing Next.js application on any Digital Ocean $5 USD/Month cloud ?
In that case can I run self hosted database also in that same cloud like Supabase ?
E) Which authentication would be cheaper or Self hosted ?
1) Firebase
2) Clerk
3) Supabase
4) NextAuth
E: Next Auth makes the most sense for your project, it’s free and open source.
C: You do need node, but no express since Next JS is the server
A4: it’s not a database, it’s a “language” to create APIs
A3 / 5: these are free and open source and are the only databases on the list.
D: Use Cloudflare Pages instead, it’s free forever. I’ve ran Next JS. websites on it before.
A: Cloudflare offers a free forever SQL based database called D1
