This episode has made me realize how great our love for Mary is. Even if the figures and statues of Mary disappear, even if other people criticize how we perceive and treat her, we continue to love and respect her in our hearts. We show our love and devotion for Mary in many ways, as she has been a pillar and an inspiration for many of us. We should continue to do what we can to show the love we have for her, and to follow in her example as a loving, caring follower of the Lord, helping our brothers and sisters in any way we can.
This podcast shows our great love for Mary. She always listen to us when praying to her and give us a solution to deal with our problem .
After watching this podcast, I realized the there’s a strong bond with us Filipinos when it comes to our devotion into virgin mary. This inspires me to keep going and pass this to the future generations.
I realized how devoted Filipinos are to Mother Mary. Despite her image being lost on several occasions, Filipinos will find a way to express their love and devotion to her. This shows how important Mother Mary's influence has been in our lives.
From this podcast, the line “siya ang ating daluyan ng pagmamahal” was the most memorable for me. When we pray through Mary, it is not only the thoughts of our prayers that get delivered to God, but also our love for Him. I was also able to realize how huge the magnitude of our love for Mary is. Throughout history, objects that signify her vanished suddenly or suffered under the hands of non-believers, but it did not stop people from giving their devotion to her. After all, Mary’s presence is not in her figures or statues, but is in the hearts of those who have faith.
After watching the episode 2, the podcast made me understand even more that our true devotion to our Blessed Mother has been our unique gift given to us by God and an example of this is our love of our blessed Mother Mary which shows one of the reasons why our devotion to Mother Mary is deeply rooted in our culture. The podcast also shows us that our devotions to the Blessed Mother can help us grow closer to Christ and Christ himself dedicated Mary to us after his death. The podcast made me appreciate our faith even more, which is one of God's greatest gifts because it guides us in navigating the path to our lives as not just individually but as a whole community. To put it another way, as we worship our Blessed Mother fully, we begin to seek God alone, and we begin to love and communicate with him in significant ways. All of this has taught me that Love, in its purest form, seeks nothing for itself and only seeks to give more to its Beloved. It shows is that all of us have the choice of choosing love and there are times that it won't always be good. But in the end, choosing love will always be the right thing to do.
This shows how Filipinos love Mother Mary. Even when images of her goes missing, they find a way to remember her because she remains in our hearts. Mother Mary gives us Hope and Protection that is why we are devoted to her.
In this podcast, I realized that the love we have for Mama Mary is immeasurable. The devotion and connection that we have for Mama Mary is very strong and nothing can break us apart. She is the role model of everyone and the mother of our Jesus Christ our savior. No matter how many challenges we face she will always be there to guide and heal us when we fall and get wounded.
This podcast made me reflect on how our love and devotion to Mother Mary keeps on getting stronger. After everything happened to her image, it is clear that Filipino’s love for Mary is undeniably strong. Despite how Mama Mary’s image vanished, the Filipinos never gave up on restoring it. No matter what struggles we face, our strong bond of faith will pave the way for success. Our eternal love for her is overflowing and it will never cease.
This episode has made me realize the lengthy history that Filipinos have with Christianity. 5 centuries is such a long time. This episode also made me see even more the intense love Filipinos have not just of Jesus, but of Mary. Like Fr. Reynante Tolentino said, even if the figures and statues of Mary disappear and no matter how people see our relationship with Mary, we will continue to love and respect her in our hearts. The 500 years that our country has with Christianity is evidence of its positive influence on us and our lives. Let us use this influence to be motivated to introduce Mary and the Lord to others, and help the less fortunate who needs us the most.
After watching this podcast, I realized that as Mother Mary guides and helps us, we became attached and learned to love her as just as she loved us. Filipinos loved and are devoted to Mother Mary that even if her image disappeared, it was recreated because of their love and deep faith in her. This podcast widens my knowledge about the history of Mother Mary and our love and devotion to her.
This podcast shows our great love for Mary. It shows the Filipinos' faith and devotion to Mary, even through difficult circumstances. The disappearance of Mary's image and the Filipinos being able to recreate it through memory shows their strong love and devotion. This should serve as an inspiration for us to continue our faith in Mary.
From the last episode Mary shows a lot of help to our fellow Filipinos, and for this episode Msgr. Vengco talks about what does the Filipinos do to Mother Mary. He stated that Filipinos before shows gratitude and love to Mary specially when they have seen the image of Her in the well. The katutubo's told that Mary shows pure love which they called "de los remedios" which means that Mother Mary is the one who helps them survive. Mother Mary have a great impact to Filipinos lives ever since, and our fellow Filipinos are a lot grateful to our Mother Mary as she became the strongest shield to save the lives of the Filipinos. Today, we still continue giving gratitude, love and care to our Mother Mary by simply praying or talking to Her or just visiting Her image inside the Church. Also, we must not forget to always thank Her for everything She have done for us specially to our katutubo's. Always pray the Holy Rosary.
This video made me realize that Mama Mary’s influence has greatly impacted the lives of every Filipino. Everyone back then faced so many hardships and challenges throughout history but they never gave up because the image of Mama Mary is always giving them strength and faith, no matter what we go through we never gave up because Mama Mary has always been there with us. Even If her image vanished/destroyed, we still continue to honor our Mother Mary.
The podcast helped me realize how much impact Mother Mary had in the heart of the Filipinos. Her figure became so important in us Filipinos that even if her image was taken by other non-devoters, they were still able to find other ways to bring her back. This not only shows how devoted and loved Mother Mary is by us, but it also shows how Divine and Holy she is as even if Her painting was burned by the Chinese, her image was unharmed and was even shining when the Filipinos retrieved her.
In this podcast, I’ve realized that our hearts as a Filipino are truly pure. Even though some people aren’t believing what Mother Mary can do for us, we still continue to pray and believe in her; we still continue to ask for her intercession. We should continue to love and thank her for interceding for us and having a big heart considering provisions to sons and daughters as well as taking care of those things that are beyond our reach.
On this podcast, I was able to reflect and realize how important Mama Mary is to our lives. Her strong love made us believe and have faith in God.
After watching, The podcast helped me in widening my knowledge about Christianity in the Philippines that helped influence a lot of Filipinos to show their love and devotion to Mother Mary, despite the difficulties in life. They also believe that she can provide miracles/blessings that can help them overcome their struggles in life.
This podcast has highlighted the impact and the role Mama Mary plays in the lives of the Filipinos. When the image of Mary disappeared, the people would find ways to recreate the image-eager to bring her back, to see her, and to feel her presence once again. This just shows how deep our bond is with Mary that we cannot stand a time far from her. Our faith is so strong that no matter what, we will do everything that we can to reunite with Mary.
This episode shows that we will always find a way back to Mother Mary. I learned from this podcast how strong our faith and devotion is to Mary. No matter how many times her images disappears, the love we have for her will always be in our hearts.
This episode opened my eyes into how deep our love is for Mary. Even though as time takes away different statues of Mary, as it disappear, people still find a way to find that missing statue. Even though some people criticize how much we pour our love into Mary we still continue our devotion despite that. We, the people, should continue on to show our love and devotion to Mary, as well as follow in her footsteps as a loving, and follower of the Lord. Helping our brothers and sisters should be one of our top priorities.
Through this podcast, it made me realize that Mother Mary will never be forgotten, hence the effort to restore her image. We should and are ready to devote ourselves to use and remember her in everything we do.

This second podcast shows that the love and devotion of many Filipinos for Mother Mary have never changed through the ages, it only became deeper and stronger. It was mentioned that there are many times the image has disappeared but, because people wholeheartedly remember her, they thought of an idea and were able to illustrate it again. This is proof that Mama Mary brought peace and hope to her believers that she became a huge part of their life. So let's use this time to show how we truly love her by praying so we can thank her for being always there to guide us and be a blessing to other people.
I realized that even though time goes by, Mother Mary will never be forgotten because we are able to restore her image with everything we can. We are ready to devote ourselves to her no matter what because we know that Her guidance will help us facing challenges in life.
Filipinos devotion to Mary has contributed greatly to sustaining the Catholic faith in the Philippines. Ang Mahal na Birhen recognizes this important reality. Mary has been, and remains, a central inspiring force among the masses of our people in the preservation of our Catholic Faith, and the principle of deeper and fuller evangelization.
After watching the podcast, it opened my eyes to many answers as to why our culture has been shaped the way it is now, our kindness, resiliency, how we are family-oriented have all been formed from our devotions and faith. We've felt and seen great sufferings such as when the image of Mary was set on fire, but as the teachings go, we as Filipinos manage to still see light throughout everything, even in sufferings like these.
The love and devotion of the Filipino people towards Mother Mary was discussed all throughout the podcast. In which I’ve come to realize that the love we have for her is undying. It is undying because no matter the circumstances we are put in, we always find a way to pull through and we somehow come out as stronger and more devoted as ever. Just like the endless and unconditional love the Virgin Mary has been showering us ever since, our love for her should always stay. For she is the love in our life that is and will always be worth all the sacrifices.
After watching the second episode, I realized how devoted Filipinos are ever since. Mama Mary is in our hearts and it shows that even though the image of Mother Mary was lost twice, they still find a way to pray and devote to her. The kind of love and devotion of the Filipinos for her shows that they will do anything to devote to her. Mother Mary is part of our lives, just like how her names are connected to our daily lives.

This should serve as our inspiration in practicing our faith especially now that we are given the freedom of preaching unlike our late brothers and sisters.
My realization is it shows how strong our love is for Mother Mary because even if the statues and images of her are damaged our fellow filipinos finds a way to restore it. We should always be continuing our growth and faith.

Filipinos devotion and love for Mother Mary has been going strong. Throughout history, it became an impregnable foundation of our faith in her. It can be seen from Filipinos' tenacity, love, faith, and longingness for her, that no matter what happens they would always seek for her. Mother Mary's images even if it's lost or destroyed, Filipinos will do their best to restore those images which shows that deep connection we all have for her. She is a mother who will always be there to guide, love, and help us amidst our troubles in life. She is also there in times of our happiness and whenever we need someone to talk to.

In this 2nd podcast, I learned about the involvement and role in the lives of our Filipino ancestors. This podcast shows how much we Filipinos rely on Mama Mary in countless occasions. This taught me how tight our relationship with Mary throughout the centuries.
Mary is like a mother to us and she is always there to help us stand up whenever we stumble. She is always in the hearts of the Filipinos even if the images of her disappear, because that's how strong our devotion and love to Mary is. Mary is our closest connection to Jesus. And even though some people use her against us Catholics, we always believe in her and make us closer to each other.
I learned while watching this podcast is that people also strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ by our Mother Mary. That through Mama Mary, we are able to show and express our faith more. I also learned that Filipinos have their own way of showing their devotion to our Mother Mary. As what is said by the devotee, Maan Barreto, she started in doing processions, and serving the church as a way of showing their devotion to Mother Mary. Through the different acts like praying the rosary, we could also continue to show our love and faith to Mother Mary.
From this podcast, I found another meaning of love which is: Love always remembers-and this meaning is signified by the true love and devotion by the Filipinos to Mary that even though the image was lost, they found ways to remember and revive it. That is love. Even after something you loved is lost, you keep on finding ways to remember it. It's not always the mind that remembers, it's the heart and just like the Filipinos mentioned in this podcast, from their deep love and devotion, they were able to revive the image from what their heart truly remembers and that image is not revived out of knowledge nor blind faith but it is rooted from love itself. 🌻
Throughout the podcast, the role and the impact of Mother Mary in the lives of Filipinos was discussed. I come to realize how Mother Mary's image could influence the faith of the Filipinos, that even Her image disappears, Filipinos will do whatever is necessary just to restore it - just to see and feel Her presence again. Such efforts show that Mother Mary really has a significant place in the lives of Filipinos.
From this podcast, it was shown that the Filipinos have a strong faith, devotion and gratitude to Mother Mary. That even if her image is burned or disappears their faith only grew, they were able to resurrect or recreate the image of Mary from their memory of her. In todays society we should continue to show our gratitude and devotion to Mother Mary. We should thank her for the blessings she gave us and always pray to her.
The Podcast enlightened me about the deep connection and devotion of the Filipinos to the Blessed Virgin Mary. That for us Filipinos, She is our mother that guides and succors us through our everyday challenges. Having a constant communication and strong Devotion build a strong foundation within the Filipinos people all throughout the world. It shows that wherever we are or whatever challenges we face, we have a Mother that will accept us and comfort us in any situation we are dealing with.
This second episode of the podcast tells me that many Filipinos are really holding their life and faith to our Mother Mary, we believe that her love can do many things for us even though her image disappeared it doesn’t matter because mother Mary is marked in their minds and hearts so they recreated it. This history told in the second episode reminds me to always do good things by the will of God and with love as our mother Mary loves us. We Filipinos are strong, there will always be a time that one of us will fall but Filipinos are known to stand up for we have faith, we feel love from God and our Mother Mary, and this is enough for us to stand proud.
This podcast episode made me realize how we are always in Mama Mary’s heart as she is in ours. Like how the Cebuanos wouldn’t accept that she disappeared and had made an image of Mama Mary. This had also reminded me of the history of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage that miraculously didn’t burn from the rebels. Even if the statues of Mama Mary are gone or destroyed she will always be with us in our hearts.
I realized how truly faithful Filipinos are to Mary. It was mentioned in the podcast that there are plenty of times where Her image had disappeared, However, the Filipinos remembered the image by heart and faith so they were able to restore her image again. Through the acts shown and expressed by the Filipinos, just indicates that despite the situation at hand, the connection we have with Mary is very strong and She will always be someone that we respect and love unconditionally as She is our source of hope and guidance in our lives.
Just like the first episode, this episode also gave me a lot of insights and understandings about the different historical events that Mother Mary played a role in our lives as Filipino people. These different events showed and proved that our love for Mother Mary was and is always there ever since from the beginning. Despite all the negative occurrences targeted towards Mother Mary, the igniting of fire to the wooden image and the cathedral and the disappearance of an image of Mary, it did not hinder our faith at all in her. Knowing that, it made me appreciate and love Mother Mary more. Mother Mary is indeed always engraved in our heart.
This podcast showed us the continuation of the history of Mary to the Filipino faith. It also showed me how strong Filipinos are when it comes to devotion. Their faith was so strong that when the image of Mary disappeared a number of times, they were manage to recreate it from their own minds. Filipinos don't need images or any other items, their true devotion lies deep within their mind, heart, and spirit.

In the first episode, I learned that the widespread devotion to Mary dates back to the beginnings of Christianity in the Philippines; it has now been 500 years since Christianity arrived, and we are still the people who adore Mother Mary. The Blessed Mother became the female that is right at the center of events.
The Filipinos' devotion to Mary can be seen everywhere. One of which is the "family altar", which is a common sight in many homes, even those with modest means. This fact, more than any other, demonstrates how deeply ingrained the respect and adoration to Mary is in the religious structure of a Filipino Christian family.
Therefore, it is indeed, one of our mission as Filipinos, to send and express our love to our Blessed Mother Mary.
The podcast made me thought about how strong the devotion we have for our Mother Mary. The growing love and faith created a bridge to Her, that guides us when we are lost and suffering. We are able to build a connection not only supported by Her Images but also from the presence of Her true love acting upon us.
In this episode, I learned how Filipinos embraced Mother mary from our lives as Mother Mary gives us ways in dealing with our problems. The devotion of Filipinos is really deep as well in a way that she is in our hearts and we see her as our mother and the mother of Christ. It is also showing how Mother Mary loves us back.
This second episode tackles the eternal love and devotion of Filipinos in 500 years of Christianity. Mother Mary protected and guided us, and in return, we Filipinos devote and protect her. Since then, Mother Mary is always on our side. She will never leave us, and she's instilled in our hearts forever. Mother mary serves as a bridge to strengthen our faith and love for God. Therefore, Filipinos believe Mother Mary's love will never abandon us. Thus, the never-ending faithfulness and love of Filipinos to Mother Mary came from our pure hearts. By showing our love and devotion in every way that we can.
This video proved how much we Filipinos love our mothers to the point where, even when her image is removed, our love for her is seen to be truly unconditional. Filipinos can still recall what Her image looks like, demonstrating how much Filipinos adore Mother Mary. And the Filipino love and devotion to her demonstrates that they will go to any length to devote themselves to her.
In this podcast I have learned how really devoted Filipinos are for Mother Mary for even if Her image is ruined or gone, Filipinos can still remember what Her image looks like and this is just a proof on how Filipinos love Mother Mary dearly. No matter how many times it disappears or is ruined, Filipinos will always find a way to bring it back. This is an indication that Filipinos’ faith in Mama Mary is strong and that she is always in their hearts.
In this 2nd podcast, I learned about how Mother Mary guide our ancestors at the time of world war. I realised that Mother Mary will be always for us to guide us and to lead us to the right path.
Watching this made me realize that even before the Spaniards came to our country, Mother Mary has already set foot where her oldest image in the Philippines being named as “Nuestra Señora De Guia”. This proves that her loving presence has been with us and why more Filipinos are believing in Mother Mary. I also learned that we should always express our appreciation and love to Mother Mary by praying everyday and to be one of the persons who will continue to share Mother Mary’s existence in the lives of other people so that more will believe especially in the tough situation we have today.
In this video, it really showed how we Filipinos love our Mother to the point that even her image disappeared our love for her is seen to be really unconditional. Filipinos did not just give up after knowing that the image is gone, they did something to restore it. These shows how important our Mother is to us and how we love her. I can really say that Filipinos are really devoted to her.

After watching this second podcast, I truly appreciate our fellowmen because they do everything for the Blessed Virgin Mary no matter how huge the circumstances along the way because I surely believed that, the Filipinos has never-ending love to our Mother Mary and up until now, they kept doing the same for her. It also deepens our faith and hope especially in tough situation in our life.
After watching the podcast, I have learned that mother mary has been present always in each filipino person even after she has disappeared, we can feel her presence with having faith on her and believing that she is truly with us.

From this statement, I can fully realize that Filipinos never lose faith not only on our Mother Mary but to our Church as well. Our faith stands strong.
It's about the Filipinos' unending love and commitment to Christianity. Mama Mary's love, Filipinos believe, will never abandon us. Mama Mary's affection for the Filipinos is everlasting, as we express love and devotion in our own unique ways.
This podcast about Mary let me realized that one of the major factor of Filipinos' resiliency is their love for Mary. Our country had experienced many challenges and Mary the Mother of God is always their to offer her helping hand but despite this kindness to her there are still people who don't love or believe on her like the Chinese people that was mentioned on the podcast that decided to put the image of Mary on fire and it saddens me . I appreciate this podcast that tackled the history of the relationship of Mary and Filipino Christians and they also interview a devotee, this deepened my love for Mary.
It really showed how we Filipinos love our Mother to the point that even her image disappeared our eternal love for her didn't. Mother Mary is in our hearts, showing that despite the fact that the image of Mother Mary has been ruined, The Filipinos kept praying and dedicate themselves to her. Mother Mary will always be part of our lives because she influenced us to do good deeds.

This second episode resumed going into detail about the story behind Filipinos as "a people in love with Mary." “sunugin niyo na lahat, pero sa puso ng Pilipino, dahil sumisinta kami sa kanya, mananatili iyon.” This phrase struck me the most because it clearly applies how Filipinos are deeply in love with Mother Mary. In spite of the obstacles the image of Mary had experienced, it never fails to come back and the best part is the Filipinos never gave up on seeking and restoring our Mother Mary’s image. It’s not all about thoughts nor words, it’s also about how Filipinos put their devotion to Mary into action.
After watching the podcast, I realized that even though the image of Mother Mary disappeared, we still found a way to bring it back. The podcast shows the devotion of the Filipinos is still powerful no matter what happens because we know that She will always be with us at all times
In this podcast we can see that even though Mother Mary's image is lost us we can see evidence that us Filipino's are still devoted and will remember her presence and her image, and Filipinos will always find a way to appreciate her love and guidance because this have been part of our culuture through centuries and this shows the willingness of us Filipinos that we have strong faith and to Mother Mary.
Just like what I've said in the first episode, we may not see our Mother Mary, we can still feel her presence and love through her little ways. With this, even though we cannot see her physically it is never considered as a hindrance to make us stop from praising her and showing our devotion to her.
Despite numerous instances of Mother Mary's image disappearing, Filipinos have always determined a way to find and restore it. This video made me realize how deeply rooted in faith Filipinos are and how massive Mary's influence is.
Even the image of Mary disappeared, it didn't stop the Filipinos to love her wholeheartedly. They were able to remember and illustrate the statue because of their love and respect for her. I realized that through our devotion to Mary, we became a good steward to Jesus Christ. We must not stop showing gratitude and love to Mary because she deserves it.
The love of the Filipinos for Mother Mary is solid and unending. Even if her image was gone, they still believed in her guidance.
The second episode made me realize that even if the image of Mother Mary disappears, their love and respect for her will never change. Mary is present to those who believe, not on the image solely.
This second episode is the continuation of our Mama Mary history, I realized every Filipinos is deeply faithful and loving to our Mama Mary. Every challenge that our Mama Mary experienced back then, she always showed her love to us until now. We sense her presence and her spirituality in our heart, body and soul of our Mama Mary.

The Filipinos take many opportunities to give love and respect to Mary. This reminds me of how we try to remember significant life events in relation to Mary. Filipinos will always find a way to commemorate her, demonstrating the impact of Mary to us.
In this second podcast, it made me realize that even with struggles and hardships, our love and devotion to Mother Mary only became stronger as we Filipinos had always been dedicated to her. Just like how children are when separated to their mother, we also can't bear being apart from our Holy Mother.
In this episode, I realized that the faith of Filipinos are strong despite all of what happened to the image of Mother Mary. Faith will never vanish if you stand for what you believe in.

The Filipinos devotion for Mother Mary is unconditional; no matter how many times her image is destroyed, they never forget what her image looks like and will find ways to recreate the image. They never give up on Mary instead they persevere even in tough times on how to be united with Mary. Mother Mary really is part of our tradition and culture so no matter what happens, we Filipinos will always be reunited with her.
This second episode demonstrates that, even though the image of the Holy Mother was lost, Filipinos were able to restore it, demonstrating that Filipinos truly love, support, and devote themselves to Mama Mary. Since we Filipinos have dedicated our lives to the Blessed Virgin, we will go to any length to express our unending love and support for her. This simply demonstrates that Filipinos have a strong faith and a dissenting attitude.
After watching the podcast, I realized that the devotion of many Filipinos to the Virgin Mary is very unique in many ways and that we always put the Virgin Mary in our prayers
to helps us reach the God the Father, that's why many Filipino's devotion is very strong when it comes to the Virgin Mary, because the Virgin Mary always helped us during our
problematic days.
This episode also still outlines the great devotion of Filipinos to Mary. Even if the statues or images of Mary disappeared, Filipinos maintained and even deepened their love for Mary by finding ways on how they could accept and make a new image of Mary based on her role and impact in the lives of Filipinos- thus, the emergence of different titles of Mary. As Msgr. Vengco said "Tayo'y mayroong tahanang hantungan, at tayo'y mayroong Ina na sa atin ay gumagabay"- we know in our hearts that Mary is with us no matter what happens, and our love for her is deeply rooted inside it.

The podcast showed that Filipino people are really devoted to Mother Mary. Filipino people showed no hesitation to trust in Mother Mary even when her image goes missing or is ruined because it she is always with us, in our hearts.

After watching the second part of the podcast, I have learned that Mary was already in the Philippines as Nuestra Senora de Guia (I think this translates as Mother/Our Lady of Guidance) before the Spaniards have brought Christianity to the Philippines. Her appearance was a 51 cm tall wood carving. It was claimed that the wood carving was made out of Narra that was native in the Philippines. Ever since, Filipinos have believed in her and eventually prayed the rosary. Years later, more miracles happened like in Antipolo, there was a fire brought by a mob as a protest that had led to burning churches. Filipinos took the religious artifacts and covered it with wood. However, the body of Christ and the wood carving of Mary (imahe ni Maria) was left untouched by the fire. This made the Filipinos strengthen their faith and beliefs in Mary. It is indeed miraculous (milagrosa).
Filipino Catholics, have strong devotion to Mary, whom we hold dear in our hearts as our Mother. in this second podcast, it deepen my knowledge about the history of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage where it was said that the Spanish traders making treacherous voyages across the Pacific Ocean from Mexico to the Philippines sought protection from the Blessed Virgin Mary, carrying with them statues and images from Mexico to keep them safe and was named “Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage” (Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje)
This video made me realize of how do filipinos value their faith and devotions to Mother Mary and they show it by being committed to their beliefs values and traditions and by our faith, we believe that Mama Mary will always be there for us and never abandon us and we filipinos would never stop in showing our love and devotions to mama mary in our own distinct ways
The second part shows how great the devotion of Filipinos for Mama Mary that even though all artifacts, images, and relics of Mary were destroyed, even if their safety was put to risk, they always find a way to show their faith and love to the Blessed Mother. They protected her image and others have recreated it to show their devotion.
It has been 500 years since Christianity has stepped on our lands, and it comes to no surprise that circumstances where our faith has been questioned and criticized. There have been instances when images of the Blessed Virgin has disappeared, yet people of faith continue to seek for her and show their devotion to her. Moreover, the Blessed Virgin has become part of the lives of Filipinos that it can be deemed as "unimaginable" to be parted with her. Like what the Cebuanos did, the Filipino community, through our strong devotion and deep respect for Mother Mary, continue to pursue for her especially at our darkest times. No matter what happens, our history has shown us that we were able, and continue to, surpass all the trials and tribulations with our Holy Mother continuously guiding and strengthening us.
Filipinos, as long as they have their strong faith, will do anything just to show God their devotion to Christianity, and to Mother Mary. As how many times the statues disappear in the flow of time, or anything that resembles Mother Mary, they'd do anything just to feel her again. This episode shows how Filipinos are devoted and loving to Mother Mary. They would always do everything just to bring her back to their hearts and her presence, it shows their pure love and devotion to her.
This podcast made me realize that up to now, we still have our strong devotion as Filipinos to the Blessed Virgin.
