  • Derek Garside as Soloist on the 14th of October, 1967 at the Royal Albert Hall, accompanied by his wife Janne Edwards-Garside on the piano, playing the cornet solo 'Facilita'.
It’s a shame that there is no write up credit on the sleeve for Derek, and his achievement. It would be daunting standing on that Stage in the RAH with just himself and his wife giving an Impeccable live performance.
In the background, there are reminders of days gone by, when in the 60s’ London had its Smog and almost everybody Smoked. The audience, with their occasional gentle coughing, just seems to add to the atmosphere...

The fast and very clean tonguing starting at 5:47 is outstanding. Thanks for posting this good-quality recording from many years ago.
