I'm fairly certain Palmer Orchids sells to the supplier for Home Depot and Lowe's. I've seen the Better-Grow tags laying on their benches where they were dividing Encyclia. About two weeks later I saw the same Encyclia variety at the Lowe's in the Fort Lauderdale area
@@PC-zg3eo Better Gro is a big company - I think that Robert Palmer either works or worked for them, or serves on their advisory board. Some of the orchids that Palmers makes do go to Lowes or Home Depot. I am not sure of the exact nature of the relationship.
I have another division of that one - I gave away the third division. I did find another growth on it today so maybe, 2 bloom spikes?? I do not have too many Catasetums - not sure that I like them very much....
@@plantpropagator I have one from last year that I treated correctly and I have a flower spike coming. But it’s at the top of the pseudo bulb???? We shall see😂
Seems like digbyana's scent is reminiscent of lemons. I grow mostly species, but PoP Emerald Isle is just too good to not have. That FCC was definitely earned.
Thanks for the video! Loved the catasetum section! Is the media all leca for some of those? What’s the fertilizing like for them? Please track the progress on that FDK 😮 Mine has dropped leaves, currently on spike watch!
Thanks for your comment! For most of my Cattleyas, I put lava rock in the bottom of the pot and LECA on the top and around the orchid. I fertilize weekly using a 4 gallon backpack sprayer. I will track the growths on my catasetums. I did find another growth on the opposite side of the pseudobulb so I think that I will have a couple of flower spikes on After Dark. I do have another division of that plant and do not see anything on it yet. My Catasetums are in sphagnum and bark and I am not as anal as others as far as withholding water/fertilizer during the dormancy period....
I get mostly male flowers but I occasionally get female flowers. Since the male flowers are more showy, and I am not looking to make any Catasetum hybrids, I am OK with the male flowers!!
Beautiful orchid thanks ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your comment. I can never get enough of these guys. More first blooms coming!!!

Yes, I think Palmers own Better Gro.

@@plantpropagator ok, thanks for the correction.
That’s Fred Clarke after dark is huge! Beautiful!

Thanks for your comment - I have 2 different digbyana plants - they are a little small and neither of them has bloomed yet - cannot wait!!
