It goes from the most epic and emotionally heavy undertale fangame boss I've ever seen to playing Uno with Papyrus and seeing goddamn Goku on the river boat

I would say its actually not that bad, even the final attack

I love Shayy's ability to make the ice puzzle really hard for no reason.
The speedrun strat for the ice puzzle in vanilla Undertale involves doing precision diagonals; I think at this point he may have forgotten how to do the ice puzzle the normal way.
If you're not solving puzzles in the absolutely stupidest ways, are you really living life?!

The thing about the uno game is that it's playing largely official rules, but no one knows the official rules. Challenging is a specific rule about how you're not allowed to play draw 4 if you have a card of the color before you're about to play the draw four(Take the Susie example if she had a card that is blue then she would have had to draw 4). However, you can lie and try and get away with not doing it, so if somebody calls you out, and is right you draw 4. If they're wrong they draw 6.
I wish I could relive the panic I felt in my very heart when I saw Sans ask me how the fall was.
if it was followed by "if you wanna look around" i would've lost it.
I dunno if you'll read this but I want to extend my sincerest thanks to you, Shayy!! These past few days I've been horribly sick and I'm pretty much unable to sleep 75% of the time. During these sleepless, painful nights your videos have brought me some comfort :) so thanks!! keep up the deltatravelling/etc.

Quick note: If you get first in the uno game, you could get the key for the back door of Papyrus and Sans' house, and when checking one of the drawers, you can find something very _interesting_
Also, I'm not sure if the music matters, since I got first on the harder Papyrus game (music 14), but I think it doesn't
Edit: You could also get a wild reverse card which changes your soul color, not sure if it also changes your gameplay (mainly since no other battle happens after this segment). Also, by showing Papyrus the egg, he gives you his charm.
Another edit: You can actually talk to sans about what you find

Honestly the sans fight is one of the most well made fangame fights out there, it's difficult and requires ya to strategise a bit but it doesn't have any stupidly tough patterns, and most of the patterns are easy to deal with as long as ya don't lose your rhythm. not to mention the theme goes hard.

Edit: It’s even worse than I thought. The full line is “Alas, poor Papyrus. At least he still has his head”, which is nearly word for word what Papyrus says if you kill him outide of Geno, the only differences are that Papyrus uses “I” and “my” instead of “he” and “his” (obviously) (Papyrus I/me pronouns confirmed!?!) and that Papyrus says “well” at the start of the second sentence.

Sarah is the only person who can have a triple soul mode Jerry boss that’s really tough at first but really easy and fun to learn and then make you fight Sans at Love 1 except he has 40 attack and doesn’t have karma (Seriously, Fell!Sans’s laser circle had so many Gaster Blasters it lagged my game)

Seriously though, I’d didn’t expect to enjoy this chapter as much as I did! I usually don’t like the AUs cause in like 99% of them Sans is basically an oc, but they leaned hard into characterizing him completely differently, and it was actually really fun! Even though Sans turning into such a monster (figuratively lol) is pretty much impossible, Underfell!Papyrus’s speech still made me feel so bad for him. Can’t wait to see the next chapter!

really hope they end up adding more secret bosses to future deltatraveler sections lol. i feel like that's the only thing that was missing from the previous two sections imo, love getting better items that are different depending if you fight or spare the character....
The Underfell Sans fight is so evil. It took me so long to master the Boost ability. Then when he got below 10% I had to make sure to defend with Kris, or else I'd always die due to skill issue XD

When you think about the end scene where Kris just straight up rips their soul out to show undyne it, and that fact that Kris is basically uneffected by it, I think that he legetimently could just straight give up his soul with literally zero problems to himself. Like he was giving up a muffin, not a soul. So basically, that jump into the portal was more of a "lol you fuckin THOUGHT bro!" Then an actual necessity .
And honestly, I'm surprised that he even saved the soul, I'm fairly certain Kris hates us/the soul.

Hi- Their bluff was certainly effective.
Bit late to the discussion but I think an interesting perspective to take would be that Kris's and the player souls relationship is sort of co op relationship. Especially since Kris does seem to do A LOT better with ripping the player soul out than Deltarune, which with the player actively getting a Vessel could lead to a lot of interesting story bits.

At first I was wondering how A Link To The Past could smoothly transfer to Undertale and Deltarune's ideas. Then I remembered the lore about the monsters of the Dark World being transformed humans, which the manga adaptation ran with for the battle at Turtle Rock.

@@QuiteDemistrious only the A Link To The Past Dark World, other games in the series mostly treat them as either demons or just very territorial wildlife. Even Between Worlds has the Lorule counterparts and local enemies separate.

Ah yes, the scene with the snowdin shopkeeper, totally new, totally didn't see it in the demo you were given a punch card in where you totally didn't punch card past the snowdrake and you had to cut it out of the video because of the spoilers, doesn't ring a bell at all, nope.

I love how the fan games with additional stuff, somehow come out faster then the actual game lol, Toby should hire some of these people tho, they made Kris with eyes look natural with really good sprites. Oh yeah and "Susie Shrug", that's also a neat sprite.
