Not for hotels. The gap at the bottom of the door for most hotels is so tall (to accommodate sliding a newspaper or your bill under the door) the alarm protrudes out the opposite side. The alarm can easily be pushed back without setting off. Otherwise, it's a fantastic device.
Dan Neville That sensitive switch worked. I slid it few centimeters and pick it up and it sounded. I still believe a crafty burgular or a nosey hotel clerk could still slip into the room with this thing armed but it's better than nothing I guess.
I bought mine at AMAZON. Very cheap. Let me tell you it works really works. And trust me it will wake you and your neighbors up. They really really have to push it so so so hard but when the alarm get ready for your guns. But door stopper alarm it’s so hard to push. It’s just a gadget to wake you up and you will have the time to get your gun ready. I love this it requires a 9V battery. Ladies must have this.

Thanks for the comment! If you set the sensitivity switch to high, it is difficult to move the device without setting it off.

A lot of people stay in the cheapest motel they can. Those don't always have the features you mentioned.

@Hugh Ropp camera only help catch criminals but dopers or abusive people are not worried about cameras. and many door locks are easily breached
