- The devotion and determination of L.A. teacher Jaime Escalante were celebrated in the film "Stand and Deliver." His former students and famous friends are now trying to stand and deliver for him. John Blackstone reports.

Oh how is WISH I WISH I HAD A Teacher like him when I was in high school. His passion of teaching others is so wonderful and he KNEW ANYONE can do it! RIP Jaime...you'll always be remembered!

Truly an incredible human being and yes we are proud he was latino(Bolivian). He is our pride and he has proven that our inner city kids are able to be successful! May God Bless your soul Prof. Escalante. May God bring peace to his beloved family.

It certainly is. Jamie was such a great man. I'm very pleased with what he did to help hall of his students prepare for whatever they chose to do after graduating from high school. And I know he'll always live in our memory. RIP, Jamie.
