Listen on the Go! distanceprep.podbean.com/ My podcast page is live, so that you can take the lectures with while biking, driving, exercising, etc. I have been told that my voice is a better sleep inducer than Ambian, but I cannot vouch for that. If that is the case, then maybe operating heavy machinery while listening to the lectures isn't such a good idea. Well, listen at your own risk. Access via iTunes will happen soon. Thanks for the interest, Chris B.
Your video series on the RICA helped me pass on the first try!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting this content out. Your case study examples were an amazing resource as well! The "formula" helped organize my thoughts for the case study. This "circle" of reading you presented in this video also helped ease my worries! It was the first thing I jotted down on the provided whiteboard. I recommended your series to everyone in my cohort!! Thanks again.
CONGRATS ON YOU WELL-EARNED SUCCESS! I am glad that the videos were helpful to you, and hope that they will be helpful to the others in your cohort. Congrats again and that you for your kind words!
I take the exam in 5 days! I’m so nervous. I see you didn’t take it too long ago. Any other tips? I keep watching these videos. So thankful I came across them! Congrats on passing!!! They don’t make it easy on us huh lol
In some videos, I show how you can just type a "checklist" of the items instead of the circle, like: PA CAP ----- Letter / Sound Onsets / Rimes Phonics Rules Fluency ---- etc. It is best if you come up with your own list, one that you can remember. Hope that helps!
I am so happy for you, and I am glad that it is behind you! I am glad that the videos helped, but know that it was your hard work and study that made the difference. Congrats again!
This is the best lecture series for learning about reading!! I have a love and passion for needing and wanting to know how to teach adults and children how to master reading. So, let me say, Thank you for recording these series!!! Where can I find a copy of the lecture notes? Nothing is happening when I click on the link to print the materials. Am I doing something wrong? I am just taken to the videos

Hi! Do you have the PDFs of the documents you used in your videos? I am a tactile and visual learner with a disability who is having a difficult time passing. The RICA is definitely not meant for neurotypical individuals. Which is ironic because my MA is in special needs, and I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS but can’t get my credential because I can’t pass a standardized test! I really appreciate your videos, two different people recommended your material. ❤
Hi Brandi, yes, because the core content of foundations of reading, decoding and fluency, and comprehension is unlikely to ever change. That material is what I cover in the videos. Thanks for the question! Chris B.
This should help. Best of luck! The material that is covered in the Reading Instruction Lecture video series can be found as PDFs at goo.gl/ToH7f3. It is recommended that you print the PDFs so that you can take notes as you watch the videos. 01 Text book that I scribbled: goo.gl/EwDkP5 02 Reading-instruction tutorials: goo.gl/kHHRe8 03 Practice-test tutorials: goo.gl/sqhepf 04 Pierre P.'s screen captures: goo.gl/ToH7f3 05 RICA sample test goo.gl/kC9vnt 06 MTEL Reading foundations sample test: goo.gl/2Amura 07 CTCE Reading foundations sample test: goo.gl/y2cgqA 08 TEXES Reading Specialist sample test: goo.gl/E5L2Fg 09 ORLEA sample tests: goo.gl/AhHSXg 10 MTLE Reading sample test: goo.gl/Uwcjp5

When you say "I jotted down" did you write out this whole circle with the information?
In some videos, I show how you can just type a "checklist" of the items instead of the circle, like:
PA
CAP
-----
Letter / Sound
Onsets / Rimes
Phonics Rules
Fluency
----
etc.

These videos helped me tremendously with passing my praxis exam. Thank You!
