A good reference for SP BH is Yu Shao. One of if not the best SP BH player in the US. Short pips is one of those things that brings a lot to the table, but requires a lot of adjustment from playing with smooth rubbers. They are especially strict on timing and racket angle
Your coach is doing a good job. For professional reference, Tang Peng and Tan Ruiwu have been the last notable sp bh players in my recent memory. But there are also a lot of good Korean and Japanese youtube videos concerning usage of sp bh out there as well

@@WorthlessGeek appreciate the detailed response! Do you know if there's much difference with medium pips? In Chinese, this rubber is classified as "raw rubber" or medium pips but the website says short pips. There doesn't seem to be much spin disruption from what i can tell...
Loving the insights on playing with short pips! This 'Dark Side' training is next level. Can't wait to try these techniques in my game! 🏓💥

Thanks for the reference - haven't heard of him before but will to study his gameplay to see if there's any takeaways I can implement

Was wondering. How Yu Shao's doing these days, and what SP is he using right now, after clippa being discontinued
it will be suddenly harder after some time. But after that you will master it
So cool. Thanks for showing the whole training.
I'm super curious. What's your max one rep S/B/D?
Thanks man. At my peak, 415 squat, 320 bench, 550 deadlift (sumo)
