Ya it's definitely addicting like gambling. It wouldn't be bad but the thing is if you somehow actually open a knife there is also a 90% chance it's going to be a sh!t knife so first comes excitement than disappointment. It would be way better if it was only good knives.
I don't expect a really rare glove or knife so I only open cases when I have money I could spend without taking an effect on my life.

I only opened cases once in my life. It wasn't even CSGO, but instead TF2 around 2015 I believe. I got the cases immediately (less than 30 minutes from the update!) when they released, opened 2, got items I didn't like, sold them for a tiny bit of profit, and never did it ever again lol

Moral of the story: Don't open cases if you can't write them off your taxes and can't make content out of it, even with those things you might just break even. If you're just a normal gamer for the love of god, don't waste your hard earned money on them. If you want a nice knife just go on buff and buy the one you like the most for the price off cases with keys instead of not getting no knife at all from the cases or getting a navaja safari mesh or something. And if you're doing because you're addicted to the thrill of opening cases you should face the fact that you might be a gambling addict, in that case either seek help or just go lose all your money in a normal casino. Seriously, you'll have better odds there. In a casino in blackjack you have like 49% of winning, in Cs:Go no case will statistically even allow you to brake even. At most you get 75% of your money back, and you turn your money into steam funds. So in a casino you have like 49% chance of winning, in Cs:Go your chance of winning is significantly lower even with the best case to open. Some of the cases have a return of 20% of the money you put in, it's seriously never worth it opening them. People are watching youtubers open cool knives and stuff but you have to remember that for youtube they're editing the video to only include the interesting moments, most of the time they're getting blue skins for hours. If you watch the same opening but on stream you'll see how much money they're losing. It's not worth it, don't be a sucker. Buy a knife off some gambling degenerate that spent 5x the worth of it to get it from a case and now is selling it to open more cases and don't even get a knife from the another opening. It's sad that valve is promoting gambling , including kids and teens. Scummy gambling websites and influencers got a lot of shit from promoting gambling (especially to kids) but valve almost never gets shit for making gambling the only viable way to get new skins in the game.

Heyzeus, it would be interesting to see if you were to do tradeups using only the skins from one of these unboxings how that would effect you're overall profit/loss.
Its not worth the effort when youve already taken a loss trading up mil-spec items, because each unboxing costs one key = $2.49 and one trade up costs ten keys =$24.90 (because you opened ten cases). Even buying snakebite mil-spec items @.16 (.16*10= $1.60) and crafting them into a battle scarred restricted item valued at .30 still makes you negative $1.30 thats why you never see anyone doing this

In the last few months I got 10 knives, don't really remember all but some notable mentions are a phase 2 gamma doppler butterfly knife from the new cases, a regular doppler butterfly knife, a marble fade butterfly knife and like 3 other butterfly knives but not really worth mentioning. Just today I finally got me a doppler ruby but it's a freaking bowie knife instead of a butterfly knife, it would have been the last case I ever open if it was.... but at least it wasn't shadow daggers which I also got today but marble fade. And I know it sounds absurd but I put 35$ on my account and got 10 cases to start and all of these knives are from profits from those 10 cases. Oddly enough, from all these cases I got like 4 reds and 10 knives. And not to say I haven't wasted a bunch of money because I certainly did, like getting nothing 1000 cases in a row but I think I'm pretty even if not ahead at this point. The gamma doppler and marble fade butterfly knife have no listings and worth ~6k, the ruby doppler only has 1 listed for 1280$ and I sold the regular doppler butterfly knife for 1400.
