Either that or you have an atypical AR-15. I was an armorer in the army back when they were finishing the switchover from the M16 A-1 to the A-2. (1989) The A-1 was an amazing rifle, i really wish i still had one. the A-2? Worst piece of overpriced dogshit with a trigger i have ever seen. (if you dont count the tarus titanium snub nose 44 spc and anything made by hi-point.) Someone, correct me if i'm wrong, but the AR-15 has more in common with the A-2 than the A-1. I have seen way too many ejection problems to be able to count on the weapon in combat. its one thing to keep a weapon immaculate at the range, its another to do so laying in sand or mud when someone is shooting at you. Hell i'd trust an AK-47 more, cheaper, more reliable, bigger round (personal pref) and at least the AK-47 will wait till the fight is over before it burns the shit out of you.
Hi-Point is functional if you do some basic stuff to it (polish feed ramp, adjust mag lips). Most of the problems come from their magazines. Still heavy/bulky af, but having a cheap gun is better than no gun.
