That was the Mad Hatter! 🤣 I haven’t rewatched this movie, but I’m pretty sure Talia’s behavior was explained as her mind being affected from being in the Lazarus Pit, which is confirmed to do that, though typically with prolonged use, which is why Ra’s Al Ghul is as extreme as he is In some iterations, Batwoman (Kate Kane, not Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon) is Bruce’s cousin
“Lincoln” is a Batman villain known as the Mad Hatter. He uses technology to enslave people through mind control (and he obviously has an unhealthy preoccupation with the world of Alice in Wonderland). As you’ve heard a hundred times by now, Barbara Gordon is Batgirl, who is an entirely different character than Batwoman. I’m not sure about this, but I think the idea with Batwing is that Lucius had already built that suit for Bruce, so that’s why it was already Bat themed and such.

He’s a master of hypnotherapy, mind manipulation, and is also suffering from several different kinds of psychosis. Jervis, has the technology to put his victims in a living dream and while they’re asleep, their bodies are used as puppets for him to rob banks, deal information kill people, whatever. Depending on the Continuity, or watching his “Alice” is Batman well others there’s a literal woman named Alice, that he’s obsessed with, and wants to force her to be in love with him or by putting her in her living dream.
There's a theory that the reason why Talia al Ghul became evil in this movie was because of the side effects of the Lazarus Pit. In the Son of Batman movie, Batman saved Talia from death by putting in her the Lazarus Pit after getting killed by Deathstroke.
"The Batfamily" While most of the live action films focus on Batman as, mostly, a lonely fighter (who seeks to inspire other people into doing the right thing); for years the comics have explored that Batman can't control what he inspires, so (over the years) other people have found the inspiration to wear a costume and kick criminal ass XD. For better or worse, it's also implied that Gotham (and, by extension) crime is so big one Batman is not enough to keep all over the top shenaningans at bay, so... there are additions to the Batfamily, even those that don't belong to the Batfamily (Batgirl being one of those examples). They rarely get adapted, because that would mean a rooster of almost two dozen people. Batwoman and Batwing are one of the latest additions ("latest" in the sense they were added in the past couple years, and their popularity kept them around, rather than being just one time characters). "Batwoman" In the comics, Batwoman and Batgirl are two separate people (thus the reason she appears at the end of the film); most of her story is directly from the comics (kidnapped, tragic rescue that ends in the death of her sister, going into a life of party until Batman gives some inspiration to find a way in life)... Dick and Kate got to know each other in different occasions because Batwoman is, incidentally, Bruce's niece (on his mother's side) and one of the wealthiest women in Gotham (so Dick and Kate may have shared social circles while Dick was living under Bruce's roof). Jen may love some of the extended story of Kate, she doesn't only come from a military family; she once tried to join the military herself, but was forced to step down after a romatic interested spiraled out of control into a harassment accusation that got her kicked out of the military (the disappointment with life here was the thing that made her take on a life of party... until she found an alternative way to become a "public servant"). So, her approach to the Batman method comes from her military training and views of how crime should be handled. Fun fact: Damian and Kate are not the only members of the Batfamily willing to rough, maim or kill criminals XD. Also, the cop she talks to in the bar, and later in the family dinner would be the very first DCAU adaptation of one of our favorite Gotham's Finest (GCPD) chatacters: Renee Montoya (another character created for the old animated series that, eventually jumped to the comics, but in a more discreete manner than Harley Quinn). "Batwing" Originally, Batwing is not the son of Lucius Fox; but rather an international character introduced in an arch called "Batman Inc.". In it, Bruce Wayne realizes his dream of inspiring and helping people may have fallen a bit short by just focusing in one city; and just focusing in the Batman persona. What he does next is to publicly recognize Waynetech may have developed some tools for Batman, or based some designs around the tools he uses; and that's willing to share them with other crime fighters around the world to fight for justice, effectively making "The Batman" a franchise. Batwing is the Batman from Congo: David Zavimbe. Later on, though, when DC apparently decided to take all Batman things back to US soil, Zavimbe stepped down from the role and Luke Fox took over the role and suit of Batwing (and, in the current continuity, pretty much Zavimbe never existed... but they kept the character XD). "Abraham Lincoln!" Not quite, although he picked an interesting hat for this film XD. That's Jarvis Tetch, The Mad Hatter; a man obssesed with mind control and Alice in Wonderland (from where he took the character, and his modus operandi: mind control through hats or other head worn devices). "Talia" Actually... XD; just kidding, but there is a thing to keep in mind: Talia in this film acts as Talia should have acted from the start; while Talia loves Batman (to some degree), she has her father's teachings ingrained in her a lot, so her main goal is (and will always be) to rule the League of Shadows, and control the world to make it a better place (with Batman at her side... one way or the other). In the original storyline of Batman and Son, while she had some emotional development, her resurrection in The Lazarus Pit "cured" her of those emotional attachments and, while it left open the idea she could re learn them, she was pretty much back into the mindset of "the daughter of Ra's al Ghul", bent on to fullfilling her legacy and the dreams of her father (and anyone trying to stop her, was a liability, including her son). So, when Batman and Damian meet her again in this; she is pretty much cold, detached and using Batman to further a plan of world domination. It's generally understood that, while Talia may have the capacity to construct genuine human bonds with people outside The League, she is not willing/capable to give up her father's teachings and will always be the tragic love interest/foe of Batman (I guess that's why they decided not to invest a lot to give that context, in an already packed film; this tried to adapt A WHOLE RUN of comics rather, than one collected story... and they didn't consider maybe making this story a two parter). Nice reaction, see you in the next one.
Jervis tetch AKA The Mad Hatter Talia is behaving the way she is because she was put in the Lazarus Pit on the last movie, and every time you use it, it eats at your sanity, making you crazier and crazier. She was already devoted to the leagues goal, but after being put in the pit...well....
My gripe with these movies is how neutered they made Nightwing. He’s one of the few who can contend and beat an unrestrained Batman. In many ways, he’s what Batman should’ve been, as Bruce has confirmed he’s a better Batman than he is.
It was never explained why Talia became this heartless and evil, but there is a theory that she changed because of the Lazarus Pit, since that Pit heals you and returns you to your prime, but also drives you crazy, you are no longer the same person as before, the negative sides of you are increased, and that is a one possible reason why she became like this.
I kinda feel bad for Jen because if she still doesn't like Damian then she's not going to like a few more of these movies. Damian is essentially the main character of this whole universe.
@@prod3clips There are many, many characters that are not disliked by a vast amount of fans. Although DC seems intent on losing money these days. Just look what they’ve done with their comics and their declining audience.
@@prod3clips The biggest issue is that DC refuses to continue developing characters that already exist and just keep pushing out more and more new characters people dislike. If they actually worked with many other characters, we wouldn't even need Damian in the first place.
Lucius made the bat suit that Luke ends up wearing for Batman, hence why it’s bat themed. Luke didn’t choose the logo it just so happened to be on the suit therefore inducting him into the bat family
The reason why they use the bat symbol is because of the meaning behind it, if you're a villain it installs fear and if you're a victim it lets you know that everything is gonna be okay because the bat is here to save the day. That's why they use the bat symbol even if they don't agree with Batman's ways
She's clearly not the same person from the 1st movie, that's a fact, she definitely changed, whether it was Lazarus revival or something else has to be confirmed, just watched it back to back if you have confusion
14:05 note this is kinda thing in the comics. talia literally got clones of damian where if damian got badly hurt like organs damamged then she would harvest the organs of the clones and put into her son to heal him + make him stronger. and to add yeah talia character git moe bat@#! crazier by the early 2000s dc comics.
Said it in the last DC video and I'll keep saying it. Watching the DC animated movies but not watching the ones based off of the greatest hits of Batman's comics is a crime tbh. The death of Robin. Under the Red hood. Dark knight returns. Killing Joke. Are some of the essentials
Kate Kane is batwoman and one of the best characters DC one of the first openly lesbian characters. She of her own volition and training does what she feels necessary and as it's military training firearms are on the table if necessary. Batgirl is commissioner Gordon daughter and a whole other long comment worth of awesome
15:20 I own the comic where this is based on. Batman has Damian. Thalia is jealous. Makes clones to get Damian back or kill him if necessary. One of the clones is all "oh I'm your son wa wa wa" so he kills Damian. Then Thalia is angry about Damian being dead. So she kills the thing.
The woman, dating Kate at the end of the movie is a redesign of a popular character who’s origin starts way back to the 1992 animated series. Officer, Renee Montoya. She was an original character just for that show. She started as a beat cop at the GCPD and was partnered up with Harvey Bullock. Not to be confused with Harvey Dent “Two Face” or Officer Flass from Batman, begins and the Batman year one comics who was Gordon’s original partner. Anyway, Montoya was a very popular character. She aced the detective exam and became a valuable asset to Gotham’s war on crime. Feeling the need to expand on her they made her the successor to the noir style detective superhero The Question. Later, it was decided to make her lesbian and have her romantically involved with Batwoman.
It was. For those who don't know, the Lazarus Pit changes a person's soul. It doesn't matter if you bathe in it once or twenty times. Once you come out of the Pit, you'll never be the same person you once were. Plus, remember, Talia wasn't just healing an injury; she was almost dead when Bruce put her in the Pit, which altered her even more.
17:30 two reasons for this. 1. branding of course and where they from which leads to 2. in story what city they focus for which this is of course gotham. no different from superman comics when there is steel who resides in metropolis and protects it when superman isnt around or helps out superman against major threats in metropolis.
I just want to say that Luke Fox Batwing is a pretty solid Character. I definitely recommend his New 52 comic series. It's a fun read. I haven't read much of the Batwing before him but I've heard his character's run is pretty good also.
I don’t think that it’s part of this set of movies that you guys are watching but you should check out The Dark Knight Returns. They are my two favorite DC animated movies.
Batman the long Halloween 1 and 2 are great movies. It really captures more on the detective side of batman these movies are completely separate from the other batman movies you have watched but it still great nevertheless.
I'm sure you'll probably explain in intro of next DCAMU movie, hopefully, but yeah the comment section has pretty much cover everything the difference between batgirl and batwoman, 2 completely different characters, and the affects of the Lazarus pit of Talia when they put her in there in Son of Batman movie.
The Bat Family is Bruce Wayne / Batman Dick Grayson / Nightwing Jason Todd / Red Hood Tim Drake / Red Robin Damien Wayne / Robin Luke Fox / Batwing Barbara Gordon / Batgirl Kate Kane / Batwoman Cassandra Cain / Black Bat Stephanie Brown / Spoiler Helena Bertinelli / Huntress Ace / Bat Hound There is a another character called Signal but I ignore that character cus it's stupid he's called Signal get it like Bat Signal and he has a silly bright yellow costume
@@antidave 1 they didn't need anymore characters in the Bat Family there are way enough as it is 2 he is called Signal wich is a reference to the Bat Signal who the hell calls them self after that It's like a knew character calling himself Mobile after the Batmobile or a new Superman character called Daily Planet they are stupid names
I also have mixed feelings on this movie. I agree that the first half of the movie was very interesting and the second half just went downhill. Seeing Nightwing take over for Batman for a little bit was great, the growth of Damian is great. I actually like Batwoman in this and the Nunjas joke was top tier!!! Haha But yeah, Batwing was just shoe Horned in. This movie is a perfect example of less is more. Too many new characters stuffed together in a short time, it just doesn't work. In the batman lore there are many Bat-characters that join Batman's team so I don't mind them all being bats, I just wish there was a better justification in this movie to why they were bats in this movie. Nightwing and Robin feels earned. But Batwing didn't feel earned at all. And like yall mentioned, Talia was completely out of character from the last time we saw her. That really bothered me. The "Abraham Lincoln" character is Jervis Tetch, AKA The Mad Hatter. He is based off of The Mad Hatter character from Alice in Wonderland
@@seimen4348 Not in regardess to Talia. Remember, the Lazarus Pit changes a person's very soul, which is what happened to her. This was showing that, but I'll forgive you guys for not knowing DC content. Just make sure you put that you don't know much about the DC universe before making assumptions.
@dantejohnson7796 I've been a DC fan for over 20 years, I know DC content very well. Yes the pit changes people and that's probably what did happen in this movie but not once did they say or even imply that's what was happening to Talia here in this movie. If they made even a single comment about her being different because of the pit then it would have fixed this major issue. So AT BEST we as the audience are left with just fan theories rather than an actual explanation. That's just lazy writing.
I know alot of people have said it but Kate Kane is Batwoman and Barbra Gordon is Batgirl also I think they mention it very breifly in the movie but they know Kate Kane because her and Bruce are cousins in every media
- Tetch brainwashed Batman. - Talia bathed in a Lazarus Pit and it’s made her more cold blooded; same thing happened to her father. - Luscious made the suit for BATMAN. The son took the suit. Not really any time (or any one) to change out the logo. 😅 - That lady who came after Talia at the end was implied to be involved with Faux-mian
"She's different she really wasn't like this before" is a pretty good way to sum up Thalia's character in general she pretty frequently flips from morally gray to straight up evil and is mostly just evil when it comes to Damian or at the very least just a terrible mom.
In (some) comics, the "Bat-Family" is an (seemingly) ever growing collection of heroes that actually provides a fun and interesting dynamic! It includes Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood (Jason Todd), Red Robin (Tim Drake), Batgirl (Cassandra Cain, AKA Orphan), Oracle (Barbara Gordon, FKA Batgirl), Batgirl (Stephanie Brown, AKA, Spoiler), The Signal (Duke Thomas), Batwing (Lucas "Luke" Fox), Batwoman (Kate Kane), Catwoman (Selina Kyle, mostly reformed into a hero), a reformed-yet-still- a-bit-"off" Harley Quinn, and, in fact, several others! I wish they'd do a movie including the entire Bat-Family! This one included a few, but I want them all! and to really show the "family dynamic"! There's a great "fan-comic" on the web-toon site/app that is mainly on the home and family part of it all!
New Holden Hardman DC video just dropped I woke up and I have a Modelo Chelada beer to watch it with good times I wonder what Jen is going to think about this one
Three good animated batman movies y’all should check out are Batman under the red hood, Batman the dark knight returns part 1 and 2, and Batman the long Halloween part 1 and 2.
The "Lincoln guy" is Jervis Tetch...the master of Behavior Modification called the Mas Hatter. Batwoman (who is a VERY DIFFERENT CHARACTER than Batgirl), is Bruce's cousin, which is how Dick knew her in the past); Batwoman has her own Live-Action TV series, on the CW, which you should check out!
Originally Batwoman (Kathy Kane) existed before Batgirl and she wasnt Batman's cousin and was written to be his love interest to deflect allegations of Batman and Robin being gay. This version a long with other elements of Earth one got wiped out of existence after the Crisis event. Then came Barbara Gordon's Batgirl around the Bronze age based off the character created for the Adam West tv series. Another continuinty changing event happen with Infinite Crisis and this new Batwoman introduced.but the old Batwoman brought back into continuity but retcconned with the maiden name Webb. This version married Bruce's uncle on his mom side but he died and she got recruited into some spy organization and created her superheroine identity of Batwoman to gain his trust and spy on him.
NGL you should rewatch this after reading the comments Yall didn’t know anything, not even Mad Hatter (who was in the Arkham Games btw). Subtitles could help to as they say names sometimes 😅
@@tomhoffman4330 oh I thought they were just doing DC animated movies I didnt know there was a specific timeline or continuity. Thanks for letting me know!

This is a bat family mivie henec all the bat themes characters people also got to remember DC is set in a more fantastical fantasy sci-fi world . where as marvel isn't marvel is the world outside your window just with superheroes and aliens in it.
I don't know why more people don't react to this show but I highly recommend Superman & Lois. It's hands down the best live action adaptation of Superman. It does more justice to his character than any of the movies did. You'll fall in love with Tyler Hoechlin's Superman very quickly. He's everything the DCEU version should've been. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Superman vs the Elite are really good too if you want good DC animated movies. There's also the DCAU which is very good as well. Batman: The Animated Series is the definitive adaptation of Batman.

Jervis tetch AKA The Mad Hatter
Talia is behaving the way she is because she was put in the Lazarus Pit on the last movie, and every time you use it, it eats at your sanity, making you crazier and crazier. She was already devoted to the leagues goal, but after being put in the pit...well....
If you are surprised how many bat people are in this movie, you should read Wayne adventures comics and see how many Bat people are there😂😂
Wayne adventures! Is that by Mike myers?
If you are talking about the author is CRC Payne
Or Tynion's Detective Comics which shows a lot of the members.
Editors note saving the friggen day. Utter confusion.
So what you guy's are seeing is a small portion of the Bat Family. In this movie.
She's not alone. Many people can not stand Damian, but DC insists on forcing things instead of giving people what they want.
@@MrMpa31 I meanthat logic is dumb though. Because many people do like damien so what are you gonna say when they say the same thing you said?
@@prod3clips There are many, many characters that are not disliked by a vast amount of fans. Although DC seems intent on losing money these days. Just look what they’ve done with their comics and their declining audience.
@@prod3clips The biggest issue is that DC refuses to continue developing characters that already exist and just keep pushing out more and more new characters people dislike. If they actually worked with many other characters, we wouldn't even need Damian in the first place.
But he constantly grows and by the end is a top 3 character
Kate in the comics is Bruce's cousin on his mother's side.
Kate Arkham?
@@hkaayaakuu Kate Kane. The the character that Ruby Rose played on the CW arrowverse shows
@@stevenbaker107 yeah before she fled the show sadly 😂
@@hkaayaakuu yeah definitely.
Everyone loves Nightwing. Top 5 DC superhero
Today years old when I realised Alfred is Avatar Roku
1 month later, I'm still waiting for Teen Titans vs. Justice League........
Killing joke is such a terrible film
Can’t wait for the Teen Titans vs Justice League
Talia used, or Batman dipped her into the Lazarus Pit, that probably what altered her behavior
The dark knight returns.... Soooo good, please watch it
I'm not gonna lie; I think it could be fun to either play or react to the Batman Arkham games with Jen. Andy Gilleand on UA-cam made them into movies.
Kate and Bruce are actually cousins
THANK YOU EDITOR ! i figured they would mess them both up.
Justice League vs Teen Titans next
17:30 two reasons for this. 1. branding of course and where they from which leads to 2. in story what city they focus for which this is of course gotham. no different from superman comics when there is steel who resides in metropolis and protects it when superman isnt around or helps out superman against major threats in metropolis.
I just want to say that Luke Fox Batwing is a pretty solid Character. I definitely recommend his New 52 comic series. It's a fun read. I haven't read much of the Batwing before him but I've heard his character's run is pretty good also.
If only he were interesting or developed in this movie
I don’t think that it’s part of this set of movies that you guys are watching but you should check out The Dark Knight Returns. They are my two favorite DC animated movies.
This editor is cracking me up! 😅
Yeah the editing on Holden's videos is always top notch. Just hilarious.
You guys should watch the Dark Knight returns Part 1 and 2 .
The Bat Family is
Bruce Wayne / Batman
Dick Grayson / Nightwing
Jason Todd / Red Hood
Tim Drake / Red Robin
Damien Wayne / Robin
Luke Fox / Batwing
Barbara Gordon / Batgirl
Kate Kane / Batwoman
Cassandra Cain / Black Bat
Stephanie Brown / Spoiler
Helena Bertinelli / Huntress
Ace / Bat Hound
There is a another character called Signal but I ignore that character cus it's stupid he's called Signal get it like Bat Signal and he has a silly bright yellow costume
I love Duke but his name should've stayed Lark.
How is Signal stupid ??? He's a good character but DC is just bad at giving him more content.
@@antidave 1 they didn't need anymore characters in the Bat Family there are way enough as it is
2 he is called Signal wich is a reference to the Bat Signal who the hell calls them self after that
It's like a knew character calling himself Mobile after the Batmobile or a new Superman character called Daily Planet they are stupid names
IT'S THE BAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been patiently waiting for the DCAU to continue
I also have mixed feelings on this movie. I agree that the first half of the movie was very interesting and the second half just went downhill.
Seeing Nightwing take over for Batman for a little bit was great, the growth of Damian is great. I actually like Batwoman in this and the Nunjas joke was top tier!!! Haha
But yeah, Batwing was just shoe Horned in.
Yup, what you said. 100%
Fun fact batwoman is Batman’s cousin
So is she Kate Wayne or Kate arkham or was martha, martha kane

LOL ABE LINCOLN!
I know alot of people have said it but Kate Kane is Batwoman and Barbra Gordon is Batgirl also I think they mention it very breifly in the movie but they know Kate Kane because her and Bruce are cousins in every media
Abraham Lincoln must be Mad Hatter aka Jervis Tetch.
Kate Kane is Bruce Wayne's cousin
even the editor knows lmaoooo
*Incoming Batgirl/Batwoman debacle*
I forgot how cold hearted Talia is in this film. Dam. The Lazarus pit must have changed her.
The movie is a mixed bag. Talia change was never explained that well.
Jen complimenting how smoking hot Talia 🤣
You gotta check out The Dark Knight returns Part 1 & 2
Holden, I love you brotha, but you were stretching those Abe Lincoln jokes at the end 😂 I'm surprised you didn't know who Mad Hatter was.
- Tetch brainwashed Batman.
- Talia bathed in a Lazarus Pit and it’s made her more cold blooded; same thing happened to her father.
- Luscious made the suit for BATMAN. The son took the suit. Not really any time (or any one) to change out the logo. 😅
- That lady who came after Talia at the end was implied to be involved with Faux-mian
BAD BLOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being completely honest this is not my favorite DCAMU movie eather, but the ones coming after this one are each better than the last
You both always post such great content. I love your channel...been following for years! Keep up the great work!!!
The editor was on another level with this one.
I laughed harder at this one than usual- “No ABE you’re supposed to be signing the emancipation” and “Oh NO not…Batwing”
The start of Batman Inc. the bat family: Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batwoman, Batwing, Red Robin, The Red Hood, Alfred and MANY others.
New Holden Hardman DC video just dropped I woke up and I have a Modelo Chelada beer to watch it with good times I wonder what Jen is going to think about this one
Three good animated batman movies y’all should check out are Batman under the red hood, Batman the dark knight returns part 1 and 2, and Batman the long Halloween part 1 and 2.
that's actually 5 movies
Guys, c'mon, just watch your first anime already.
Shrek 4 🙏
The "Lincoln guy" is Jervis Tetch...the master of Behavior Modification called the Mas Hatter. Batwoman (who is a VERY DIFFERENT CHARACTER than Batgirl), is Bruce's cousin, which is how Dick knew her in the past); Batwoman has her own Live-Action TV series, on the CW, which you should check out!
I can’t wait for you guys to watch the Teen Titan films and Constantine in this series they are my favourites and I constantly rewatch them
Btw Holden, Barbara is BATGIRL and not the only one haha There’s also Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain
"I dont need no man"😂
Can’t wait till the next movie that’s when it really gets good
“You mean, by whom” 😂 The eye roll! 🤣
You need to watch Suicide Squad animated movies!
Their Second-Animated Movie ("Hell to Pay") is part of this New 52 Continuity
FYI : the guy with the hat, is a new version of the MAD HATTER
NGL you should rewatch this after reading the comments
Yall didn’t know anything, not even Mad Hatter (who was in the Arkham Games btw). Subtitles could help to as they say names sometimes 😅
Cant wait for them to get to Doom

It’s hilarious that we have to beg Holden to dump these and watch the classic DC animated movies. These movies are fun and all but they only get worse by film.
