Mate, on the pints Friday night then Saturday morn it was Duvet, hangover, sofa a bowl of something and Tim n Helen, Stan Hibbet, Taxi, Nutmeg files, topless weather, Barry, Fixtures man, Crossbar challenge and of course the soccerette. Great times, it just would never work now, not sure the players would come on, not sure there is the music scene and the soccerette feature would give the gentle a heart attack . Tim Lovejoy was a genius. With Helen 'the blonde' Chamberlain, it was the perfect start to a weekend of soccer which has now been long forgotten. It's a shame the narrative decided to cancel them.
Brilliant memories from a Saturday morning. Just want to add some gems that weren't mentioned: The classic "Showboat" with some tekkers are good, some tekkers are bad, but some tekkers... are UNBELIEVABLE TEKKERS The Hairy Strikers comedy sketches The Third Eye for whatever happened in the stadium that wasn't the actual focus of the camera work
Pity, this used to be one of the best shows on TV.. After lovejoy left it started going downhill then when Helen left it was finished.. should have cancelled it then.
@@stephenconnolly5904 I think it's alway key to have good chemistry with all the presenters, and I think Helen Chamberlain had more TV experience when they started and she helped him out in the early years
Save Chip was naff and the dance offs. My best moments are the colonel and ginger plus the serge goal with soccerette high five. I did not watch after 2007
I think culture moves in cycles. I reckon in a few years culture will change again, shows like this will probably just find a home online for now, and then when the market changes and more edgey content is back in fashion will get a new wave of shows like this.
I completely agree, shows like this, inbetweeners, balls of steel, little Britain will never be shown again because of these little woke crybabies who get offended and will jump off a cliff if the characters breathe differently to them but at least we can reminisce.

It's hard to describe Soccer AM. I used to watch Tiswas in the 70's and it was just fun. Soccer AM was fun.

I miss the old format of sunday supplement the most, was such a good show until they started breaking it up with interviews
