Dayum my man got a sponsor from Elegoo😮 Congratz! And well done on the video, love how you went into it blind, so viewers are less intimidated, and of course its more entertaining 😂
Great video, appreciate the honesty and transparency of what went well and what was a challenge. I’m not as scared of buying one of these now - I’ll get one someday!
we have to be careful about the expectations we set ourselves. its good to have goals but we also need to understand the journey which is the most important and rewarding part. we can't start at the end. 'I'm going on an adventure' - bilbo baggins
I have had a Mars Ultra for a while now but kind of intimidated by the resin and the process unsure how to start. Seeing it visualised helped massively and now I'm ready to start printing myself. Thanks for this!
This is the first video I have watched about 3D printing. You have given me a lot to think about, as I contemplate the possibility I might get one to make my miniatures. Thank you!
an open window helped or even having it in a room your not going to be in whilst it does its thing. the filter, having the lid on and a mask was fine, its always good to be safe though
Order a 3m half face respirator with 60921 cartridges Watch some UA-cam videos on fitting it and you can do a fit test on yourself as well to be safe. best thing to do is just get started and stuck in, don't worry about making mistakes, its all part of the process :D just have fun. if I can figure it out, then you can as well
@@TableTopReadyUA-cam what adjustments did you make when it didn’t print the test file the first time? Same thing happened to me when I tried to do the Rook test file.
I'm currently in the market for this specific printer as wel, but I'm also beginner so it was nice to see the trails and tribulations of getting it to work
fresnel is pronouched 'frehnel' :) the s is silent. You don't really need to know about the lens though. you can reduce the number of support marks by splitting the model up into parts, and orienting the model so that the overhangs are the mating surfaces. you can also play with the orientation of the model to reduce overhangs. Good luck with the prints! I reckon your gonna have a lot of fun
Honestly I was surprised how easy it was to get started. There will be more 3d printing content, but it will be inclued mixed in with my other content to show its uses
Great video, I was looking at this printer myself so good to see it from the perspective of someone new to 3d printing. A bit off topic but any chance of a painting tutorial for the new ork big mek ? 😜
Thank you. I wanted this video to showcase how easier it is to get started with 3d printing. I would paint the big mek if I could one :P outside of a £130 box
and looking on the amazon links not too bad of a price. AND clear green resin is an option!!! oh no... im gonna buy a 3d printer by the end of the week lol! i would like a 3d scanner so i can print things ive sculpted by hand...
I was hoping this would be a tutorial but you cut away whenever you had a problem and then didn't tell us how you solved it. What did you fix after the first failed print? How do you add the holes? etc
I did mention what had happened. I used the wrong file from the usb stick. I'm also new to 3d printing and it was more of what you can expect when starting than a how to. I don't know enough to tell other people how to do it. the holes were added using the software i showed as well
@TableTopReadyUA-cam O was thinking "Okay he found a mistake, so how can I avoid that mistake." but I didn't see a solution. Answering everything wasn't your intention though, I get it.
Yeah it was user error more than anything. Honestly the whole process is very straight forward and it’s explained well enough in the guides you get with it 👌🏻
You got a 3D Printer?! Def watching soon Also, when will there be a video on hivefleets for tyranids? ( Kraken, Behemoth, Hydra and etc like your ork clans video. )
I always worried about how 3d printing could be complicated and a lot of effort, but it really isn't. i think the biggest hurdle is going to be getting objects ready for printing in the software. I'm glad I gave it go
I love kit bashing aswell. I just see it as an extension that opens up more possibilities. we don't need to print of completed miniatures. we can add even more variety of bits to kit bash with :D

haha thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I thought it would make a more interesting video people could relate to :)
EXCELLENT review and demo. It saved me a lot of time searching thru multiple bits of info to get exactly what I needed to know!
I'm glad. I certainly learnt alot from making this video
Oh my god! He's done it! 3d printing is so good, and I'm so hyped to print me some intercessors to paint in your FAB Raven guard scheme
its been coming. I'm glad I now have it as a tool
lol - I love the part where you had to turn the usb memory stick 3 times before it fit - that’s me every time!
haha i wondered if anyone would get that
Great video, appreciate the honesty and transparency of what went well and what was a challenge. I’m not as scared of buying one of these now - I’ll get one someday!
It really wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. the technology is only getting better and easier to use as well :)
Just like anything worthwhile in life - there is a hump you need to get over to reap the benefit. Great video - hope everyone stuck through the end.
its not a big hump either. I was surprised at how user friendly everything was
I needed to hear this, I’ve been feeling too sorry for myself lately thinking I’m special or something. Only one way to get it done is to do it

Very interesting especially the risen that can be cleaned up with water a big plus Thanks 🙏

Awesome. Good luck on your journey 💪🏻
really good video, simple and essential, keep up the good work!
Thank you, I will :D

What have you found out about safety? Does the filter do enough or do you need a vent system? Or a more heavy-duty mask?

Amazing video. I was on the fence now might just have to pull the trigger 🤙
I was thinking I would need to have a full exhaust system lol

I got the exact components, this is a safelife video. thx
I finally got my machines, and your advice was really helful! thanks!
Do you use a stl or a 3dm file to print
i use stl files to print
How were the fumes? I live in a small house and the fumes are the biggest thing holding me back from getting a printer.
they weren't too bad. I would have a window open. the cover and filter do a pretty good job though
Cool review 👍
thank you :)

oooo thank you very much :D I'll keep this in mind. thank for the knowledge
You made it so beginner friendly looking I’m interested enough to get one. Will you make a video trying to print arms or heads or little accessories?

I'm sure you will. they seem to get more and more accessable for people

@@TableTopReadyUA-cam Cant wait to see that!!
Keep the great videos going!!
thanks, just got mars 4 ultra and i have no idea
Haha neither did I 😛 it’s pretty straight forward. Make sure to read the booklet 👌🏻 good luck
Would love a how to paint Goff Ork Kommandos video!
its on the list for the future
damn its big and i need to get a cure station also. damn damn
You don’t need a curing startion. You can leave it next to a window in the sun for the UV or you could get a little UV torch 👌🏻to start with at least
@@TableTopReadyUA-cam ty I've read up.. but I may sell on before I take out the box. I don't have the room or ventilation. Even in attic
😊
:D
There's an old saying: If you don't have a problem, buy it
thats a new one for me :P
Well played Elegoo, can't imagine why some 40k fans might be suddenly interested in 3D printing 😂
3d printing does look kinda intimidating. but watching you just give it a go im more likely to get one.
it seems kinda idiot proof lol.

Those filters don’t remove all the baddies out the air. Just the smells. Need good ventilation
Also those mask are useless. Keep the lid on during printing.
absolutley keep the lid on and be sure to have an open window. espcially as prints can take hours.
My problem with printing is I like kit bashing, and I’m kind of a cave man about it. I feel like using super glue would suck
I love kit bashing aswell. I just see it as an extension that opens up more possibilities. we don't need to print of completed miniatures. we can add even more variety of bits to kit bash with :D
you should try blinking when talking to the camera
I don’t know how 🤷🏻♂️ no one showed me
