He is barely 2 years old in the industry & ppl already want him to evolve a style he helped bring awareness to..NOTE---I didnt say pioneered. I think its too soon. How about we encourage him & let him even fine tune this sound more, experiment and even take it to greater height. Imagine him fuse ndombolo, kizomba, coupe decale etc & the likes from different African countries into this style & then poof another thing emerges. PPl need to slow down on wanting artist to change a formular working for them & he hasn't even refined it completely. Let us enjoy the journey & process to see him develop gradually. You crawl b4 walking. IF this is how artists are supposed to be, Fela Kuti would not be the father of Afrobeat today. He finetuned his sound & played afrobeat HIS STYLE till death!.
We tend to be more demanding on these artists. Doing something different takes time which isn't an option when it comes to afrobeats. He's doing something that is working for him and his fans love it
We’re so engrossed in sound that we don’t give enough attention to storytelling. Musics is communication, Asake and Olamide understand music. Pay close attention
@denatora7142 great comment but I'll go one step further and say he did infact pioneer t(his) sound. IMO he has fused fuji and amapiano as his own and if he wants to stay on this lane and make it his "sound" so be it. Plus he has shown on this album and with Davido that he is versatile. @CubCamTV I like your channel and sure value your opinion but I think you're overthinking what you expect from him. He has been impressive to say the least.
Nah, I think MAGIC STICKS did. To my knowledge was the most prominent producer to combine this sound with fuji elements, amapiano & crowd vocals. Asake made it popular and world wide but he didnt pioneer the sound. A magic stick production is distinct just like TG Omori video. However, Asake & Magic are like 5&6 sha. I get your point regardless. Go listen to Nobody---Joeboy, Belema . These are productions prior. Asake just really perfected his vison in my opinion.
@@denatora7142 lol okay let’s get to magic and I’m glad you know those songs, the crowd vocals is for sure magics but those songs do not remotely sound close to Asakes even the beats he makes now do not sound remotely close to those songs. I’ll give you the crowd vocals not sure about the Fuji and amapiano combo.
@@busayoajayi3489 I said Asake perfected his vision. Asake wasn't doing crowd vocals before too now. Magic was getting somewhere. Remember even asake sang joha before and it wasn't like what we heard now. My point is magic was already on that pathway, Asake probably was also finding his sound & thanks to amapiano log drums, it connected for him plus asake abilities too. Imo I still think magic was the pioneer and asake help perfected that for him. Without production or beat artist in my view is nothing. I dare say production is 70% in afrobeats. On some occasions the voice gets the stage but beat is no 1
B/c artists are more famous than producers, they associate the beat with the artist when in reality it is actually the producers who owns that. A dark child production, timberland, swizzbeat, etc isn't associated with the artist but the producers but naija seem to be different we have speroach, kel- p, SARS, magic too. Its their sound too. Hopefully producers will get their their dues & respect as afrobeats gets global.

I think he proved with Yoga that he can be versatile when he wants. Though i see your point.
He has his own sound, let him maintain..we vibing !

In loving memory of Jean Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) . Some of his paintings were shown in the video.
The art and video are inspired by the late American artist called Basquiat
I see a Jay Z collab here... Jay Z is a huge Basquiat Fan. He looks like him, his hair .....bought his art 💥YBNL Genius...

His Yoruba flow is much evolved imo. I love this track and what's up my g the most.
He’s adding more and more Hausa to it
Your analysis always topnotch
I think you should do a little research on Basquiat himself. He is a renowned American artist.
I agree with your analysis
Its not really random it feels to me like chaotic but artistic visuals resembling jean michel basquiat
"so immediately "😄😄
The album is called “work of art” hence the use of the paintings .. artistically. (No pun intended). Also had the song title is an artist .
Angola 🇦🇴 first
Vibe
You guys are doing a wonderful job. Try a little harder to understand the music, this platform has so much power.

WHY FIX SOMETHING IF IT'S NOT BROKEN???
First to be here
Basquiat pronounced bas-kee-aht
I don’t like this style of Afrobeats, need to be more versatile.
Someone else can have your flavor. Everyone's different.
Listen to something else then. Nonsense
