ASAKE is a very spiritual singer. I have been checking out his earliest work. PLEASE check out his song : Greatful.
He actually reminds me of the great Kadjanine. An international African songstress. The cinematology, the Epic, the deeply ancestral Sounds all mixed with the bumping of Amapiano drums and the layering of the multiple vocals, in this very unique Fuji way. Reminiscent of this universal tribal feeling that choruses bring to the heart. Voices who appear to be the Spirits/ ancestors that are working with him at the delivery of his Magic.
His lyrics are always about empowerment and patience unto the road to success. Even songs like Sungba , although might be thought shallow lyrically, are a part of his Epic journey.( indulging himself because he worked so hard...)
Asake is like a Preacher, or a traditional Priest. Just by the way he feels music
You can feel its very deep.

The pronunciation of his name is close to saying "I shall care'' and not the way you pronounce it.
