This man is 38, married, hiking, and still winning the largest Smash 64 tournaments
Good stuff dude
happy for him that he's hitched.
And getting bald
In his interview he wanted to find love, good he has now
Damn dude he got married?
@@kwkylewilliams462Yea a couple years ago he got married.
Isai winning in 2023 wow what a world we live in
You can say the world went back to normal. People stopped arguing. World started to spin again, causing all global disasters to stop. And peace in the muddle east was made possible. All because this man made it happen. That's the power of isai deciding to finally use his power to win.
@@hunter24 I love ISAI
@@epyons8411 ISAI IS LOVE
I’m really happy for him ! 😄
Nice spoiler
Isai winning smash con is the ultimate celebration of smash, what an incredible event
wrr
I can't believe Isai is still competing let alone winning, Smash is good this day
I’m really happy for him ! 😄
Smash 64 is just a wholesome game. Just older dudes that have probably played since the game released doing what they love
64 is one year older than melee lmao
@@DoctorDeuce ...no? about 2.5 years.
All 100% true and Wizzrobe
@@sareaper69Wizzy is a robot built specifically with Smash Bros. in mind.
@Abbaschand dude is Hella good. Didn't he get top 8 at an Ultimate Major one time?
I was sitting right behind Kurabba's friends. They were so respectful the whole time and even clapping for some of Isai's combos. Kurabba played so well this tourney, kinda crazy how these GFs turned out
You love to see that
Kurabba was an amazing sport too, even as he got SLAPPED 6 games in a row in front of the entire universe. Smiling, no salt, no johns... Japanese are another breed of sportsmans. We have a lot to learn from them
"He had this kind of aura about him that just seemed unbeatable if he felt like it."
dude the chillin frase... and he is there. I got chills
20 bucks says Isai could win a Melee supermajor right now and not drop a single game if he really wanted to.
Edit: because people seem to think this is serious, it's not. Yall are dumb and take things too literally. This is why nerds get a bad rap.
@@CreamyPesto505I’ll take that bet for any amount of money
@@CreamyPesto505 Crazy to suggest in 2023
The fact that yall took that as anything more than a semi sarcastic comment...
Isai has been in the Smash community for as long as most smash players have been alive. So the fact that he still continues to take Ws even after 24 years of this games existence is just beyond impressive.
Isai really is a legendary smash 64 player. He'd probably have so many more major wins under his belt if he didn't sand so often
@@bobjoe3492 yeah but think of the things we might have missed out on. his runs with characters like puff and mario back in the day were incredible
It’s video games it’s not like professional sports where injuries add up lol
@@johnny9655 well yeah but their are still aspects such as mentality, staying behind the competition, increasing responsibilities, burnout or in terms of physical capabilities stuff such as arthritis or increasing eye diseases, so while yes it isn't as taxing as physical sports, their are still a lot of factors which could hinder people like Isai the older they become and the longer they play. Considering all of that you still have to admit that Isai being at the position he is still impressive. A lot old school legends of video games such as the likes of Alex Valle, Andrew G, or in the case of Smash Ken, Mew2king, Azen,KDJ etc. While Legends of their time, their is a reason why they eventually stopped staying on top. So the fact that Isai of all people can still stay on top after 24 years is something you have to appreciate.
I actually got out of my chair and stood up during that last stock. I've been waiting so long for this. Isai finally tried!
😂
This feels like such a throwback to the old days. "You know Isai's going to dominate. You just want to see how he does it."
I got incredibly lucky to had decided to tune into this. Glad to witness Isai trying.
Not enough crowd for Isai, we are witnessing something we never had assured to watch again
Half the crowd is out of frame. They had grands on the opposite side of the circular stage too
“Now, he will try.”
If there were still any delusionals out there, here's your proof. He's the GOAT. Emperor God King of 64
one of the most dominant players of any fighting game ever for sure
@@dabadaba5847 Dude famously was inconsistent in his career. I fact he has only won a few tournaments.
superboomfan is the goat. It's not even close. Seriously look at their wiki pages for their results.
@@AL-lh2ht the first time i realized superboomfan was a great player was after he finally managed to win one single game against isai's link, something i had literally never seen before after watching hours and hours of match footage over a period of months or years. isai then proceeded to still play low tiers even at the height of smash 64's relevance and with the strongest international competition, and would somehow get top 3 regularly while doing this. famously i remember a commentator relating a story of superboomfan declaring that he 'doesnt lose to isai's low tiers anymore.' i believe that was the tournament where he lost to isai's mario.
i dont want to say more bc it's kind of corny to do long youtube comments lol. needless to say i disagree with you. in all of fighting games i've never seen a player who has established such a giant gap between himself and the rest of the field, for such an extended period as isai
it's amazing that smash 64, which came out in 1999, is still getting played competitively and at a high level in 2023, nearly a quarter century later.
its crazy to think that there are more than couple games like that now. cs, quake, ssb64. shits crazy
@@animaIpathnot ultimate lol
@@fangiscool1ok
Sure, if Ultimate kept some of Smash 4 mechanics and get rid of the constant shield poking.
Plus the 8 frames of input delay
@@33naehu oldschool fighting games like super turbo and third strike as well!
bro this guy has been playing smash for over 2 decades and he STILL is on top in 64. shits crazy he played at the top level in melee in the 2000s and here in 2023 he wins smash cons 64 tournament. Unreal, congratulations to Isai
That thunder at 14:18 was absolutely awesome. What a great performance by Isai this tournament.
"Don't get hit." - Isai
Dang, a 6-0. GOAT argument is now over.
It’s been a closed book for 64. Always been Isai
There was never an argument. Around Melee's revival you could say Boom could be considered the world's best, but ISAI has always been the GOAT.
I'd argue until now boom was the goat but it's decided now. Isai will be playing 64 in 2064
Thanks for the spoiler! :)
Reply to your own comment to avoid spoiling it for others please!
Isai is a legend. That set was electrifying---he was playing out of his mind. The sequence at 14:14 was incredible; he even got the in-game crowd cheering for him!
I couldn’t believe in when the in game crowd joined in lmao
Bro Isai having kurabba lost is sooo crazy 😭 tells you how much of a monster isai is when he’s in his bag
😂😂😂😂😂😂 que venga. Acá Perú ciudad heroica TACNA SMASH INKAFEST 4. Y 5 de noviembre Alvin campeón 👈😎✋
One of the most hype Smash 64 sets I've seen, glad I caught it live
Isai winning grands of a supermajor 6-0 was something I saw the Melee and Ultimate communities excited about too, he has that universal appeal
16:46 is unbelievable. This match was predetermined by the universe itself.
so so true, this is definitely one of the highlight of the GF
So rare we get to see Isai try but such a great sight to see. When he's trying there's no one on earth that can beat him
This match needs to be in a documentary someday.
now he tried
Don't let the gameplay distract you from the fact Kurabba is barefoot
Today smash won, Lets go Isai you legend
Can we please just have more tournaments of smash 64 so we can see isai more often.
Que venga acá Perú ciudad heroica TACNA SMASH INKAFEST 4 y 5 de noviembre Alvin campeón 👈😎✋
there are plenty more. It's just the top 64 players basically go to like one, maybe two, a year.
I may be a melee watcher, but god I never get tired of watching Isai play. Just insane skill as always, even to this day.
I saw this documentary when I was a kid. I think it was called insect wars. They had cameras inside this ant hill and in the ant colony there was these ants fighting to be queen. They would go around grabbing other ants and spraying them with their pheromones to make them docile and obedient. The ant that won was the one that was the most active, the most aggressive, it appeared the most lucid and like it had the most agency- this is what Isai’s pika reminds me of. He just makes the character look so ornery and alive
Gonna watch “Isai the movie” and just rejoice in the nostalgia + the heart warming feeling I already have from watching this incredible gameplay.
I am surprised there are still tournaments for the original good to know the smash Community still love this old classic
super smash con features all smash games!

@@irongiant5951 that's not a official smash game
This tournament really goes to show how underrated 64 is as a competitive game. You’ll always have multiple opportunities to watch high level Melee or Ultimate in 2023, but not for 64 and that’s an absolute crime considering the immense potential this game has. And then there’s the whole thing about Isai winning a supermajor and playing out of his mind, which that I can go on about how legendary this is as a esports moment. Kudos to the 64 scene for being this amazing, I am so willing to see more.
Oh the game is kinda ass honestly. It would get I’m boring real quick if it was far more common.
Really the only way to revive it would be with the smash 64 remix mod.
@@AL-lh2htchillax buddy
@@AL-lh2httell that to the people who play it all the time
There are some matchups that can get pretty rough at the higher levels and we saw some of that during top 8. But show me a smash game that doesn't have those at all. Glad we got to see some crazy matches as well
The issue is the game kinda boring. espeically if watch more then a couple matches. I wish smash64 remix could become official. Then it would have increase in popularity.
That's not a typo in his name, Isai opened his third eye
REAL
Isai is the reason I picked up smash and have played for 15 years. Number 0 on the PR for a reason.

Never seen any competitive 64 gameplay before this video.
This game is fucking crazy.
I love it.
yeah, no DI and only SDI and some unique mechanics like ledge DI make the combo game pretty spicy. the name of the game in 64 is "don't get hit"
@@SuperAmazingJaredyo wtf is ledge DI?
@@Birrrrra when someone hits a bit above a ledge you bounce kinda weird and you can influence where you go, I forget the specifics behind it. It happens a couple times in the set if you look for it.
I'm not a 64 player so anyone can feel free to correct me lmao
There are definitely slow matchups as well but it's a beautiful game and I'm glad we got to see such an amazing grand finals
Isai really wanted this win. 6-0 in grands? He finally tried.
I watched this set live, and i actually popped off when Isai won. So happy for the guy, hes one of the coolest people in the entire smash community.
We need more 64 at tournaments. Its weirdly one of the hypest smash games to watch.
When Isai actually tries!
Isai is truly an inspiration and proves is just a number
This was an incredible set. Never usually watch smash 64, but I honestly never regret it whenever I do. I loved every second of it and am glad to see this game still running even today
That was a crazy set. Isai's usage of thunder was remarkable.
Had to rewatch that last stock. Still got chills and popped off. Phewwww
actually insane grand finals, probably the most hype set of smash con
Crazy to see this guy still at it man
Isai, my first smash bros hero. His combo vídeos opened my eyes. Glad to see him back and winning. Lets go!!
Man as an OG smash lover back in the day nothing makes me happier than hearing Isai winning a Smash tournament in 2023, what a legend!
Isai is just in another level, genuinely fascinating movements
LET'S GO ISAI, this was the hypest i've been in a LONG TIME, possibly ever, watching a smash tournament. You're the best amigo
Congrats to both players for this excellent match
Let's go ISAI, watching this live was amazing, 6-0ing the player who sent you into looser
that's my goat
“Don’t get hit” still remember watching this guy back in early days of smash tournaments with no face cams.
Great to see Isai doing it again after all these years
Imagine coming into grand finals of one of the biggest tournaments of the year, having the pressure of being on the losers' side, playing a matchup you really would rather not, against the guy who literally sent you to losers' in the first place, and yet literally not dropping a single game
“I don’t know what’s inside him; I don’t know how many people do.”
Well, at least we know that the desire to win is finally in him again.
that man really wanted to just finish his set and leave 😂😂😂 he did NOT want to take those pictures, care about the trophy, wanna fist bump anyone, nothing. man's wanted OUT.
Pikachu actually getting to use powerful lightning moves is PEAK smash bros gaming. Amazing to see Isai doing so well after being the best in the game for so long, what a legend -- a literal legend, not one of those faux "legends" that the kids throw around like the word means nothing.
My idol since forever. The actual Greatest of All Time in Smash.
Great to see isai in action all these years
Congrats Isai!!!! Well deserved, so happy to see you win SmashCon!!!
Isai will forever be my favorite smash players
Someone playing as little competetive as Isai coming into a tournament after a year and 6-0ing a world class player is fucking mad
Anyone tell me why Kuramba never used down B? There were a few instanced it looked like it could have worked well match 1
decided to search "smash 64 2023" on a whim. What a fucking time to search that query out of thin air. Way to go Isai. Keep dominating mountains & Smash 64 tourneys bro. As someone who's almost 30, this brings a tear to my eye :')
Amo este juego diria que es mi favorito y amo ver torneos del SSB64
I haven't been to a smash event live. Is the commentary only for stream? Or do the audience members hear the commentary as well?
the real GOAT, we all knew deep down. Isai is a smash genius.
Superboomfan is the goat if you actually look up results. seriously Isai has only won like 3 major smash64 tournaments.
for example Superboomfan has won 3 supersmashcons, while Isai won just this one.
Hi, do you know if There is a way to play super smash 64 online with friends ?
6-0 with 4 unanswered stocks to top it off. Love to see it
como que hace 9 días!!! creí que ya no se hacían torneos de smash Bros! donde puedo registrarme!??
How do I get into one of these tournaments I’m very interested to unleash my skills to the world thank you
Unreal he's still winning brackets this competitive. Very, very impressive.
You know it's serious when Isai decides to play Pikachu.
Wow Isai poppin off too haha, that is so mad
What a genuine legend of the game
3:04 the quickest isai dab
15:00 for Kurabba to have a smiley reaction after that loss 🤙 I i am now a Kurabba fan!
Isai still plays smash that’s fucking crazy, still getting dubs too lmao
Isai at 38, goes 6-0 reverse sweeps kurabba in the biggest smash tournament and popping off.
Isai is too good.
It's crazy how more technical this game actually is and seems to still be evolving. This game is definitely superior to anything after Melee, and Smash Remix is a very worthy upgrade
My man still killin' it.
Incredible set
Yoshi's defensive options with double jump basically being rng really leave the match open to guessing how things will swing.
That last game was a master class
Can we talk about how good Isai really is? He has never really cared about winning and yet has competed at the top level for years. When he tries he seems unstoppable, which has been a trend across 2 different games across all the years he’s competed.
return of the king
Watching Isai play will never get old I think.
Isai, the true god of smash, still living up to the legends
Hell yeah Isai!!!! I wanna see him and ken come back with melee .. think they could still hang with top players today?
No
Unfortunately no. The meta is so evolved
Definitely not. At the absolute bare minimum, not without them actually putting in the time and effort they used to
Ken still plays, he's def got solid game sense but hasn't learned a lot of the new tech, which pretty much makes it impossible to perform better than mid level
Ken returned for a year or two. He was basically a top 100-hundred player, but no where near close to Top twenty.
I will never understand how people can dislike the air-footsies based neutral that the smash series isnt known for
"Don´t get hit."
congrats Isai! cheers from Brazil :)
great day for smash
Does this make Isai the player who has won championship Smash Bros titles across the longest timeframe?
I think so. His are 2005 and 2023. 2nd would be mango with 2007 and 2022.
This takes me back to the purest form of smash.
I don't watch 64 much, but I've heard and now seen the legend, Isai
Somehow this game is much interesting to watch than Ultimate. Tempo and combos are great. I want to see more of this!
And melee, don't just single out ultimate cuz it's great.
Ult is shallow compared to melee and 64 as far as gameplay goes
@@Justpassingby204 Random elitism is bit cringe.
Dude, how often do you see a 6-0 sweep in grands on the guy who sent you to losers in ANY smash game? All the more proof that Isai really can be the best if he truly wanted. He proved it in Melee and he proved it here.
This is why 64 is my favorite competitive Smash game, stands the test if the time and can still be exciting after so many years of the meta shifting
22:02 wow 2 amazing kills in a row
SSB64 is still impressive even 20 years after his release :O
Smash 64 is so underrated I just wish there were more usable stages
